I was just wondering who booked a deluxe with the free dining. I know some have posted that the 40% code was a better deal with a deluxe resort but for those who didn't get the code, what did you book? I'm wondering if they had much availability with the deluxes and the promo. ---Kathy

We had the 40% off and switched to free dining for 7 of the 10 days. We have the Poly 8/23-9/2. We have the 40% off until the 26th and then start free dining. We are a family of 5-2 of my kids are considered adults so free dining was better for us. We can't wait! We did it last summer at the Poly also.

I need to cacell our reservation for WL club level. Husband decided he wanted an seperate room from the kids. The only thing that came close was BWV Garden suite. I hope I can put up a blow up bed for one son. Has any one stayed here. My boys wanted Pop again. They are dissapointed.:dance3:

I got Poly GV 9/21-29, was hoping for CR MKview, but we're going to still keep trying. We've never stayed at the Poly and won't be disappointed if we don't get the CR, however, the only thing we're nervous about is getting a room with only 1 sink.

I booked the GF garden view...With 4 of us getting free dining it's very, very close to the 40% off price, but for me,not having to worrry about dining more than makes up the few dollars difference.

WL Woods View 8/26-9/1
I called on 4/12, hoping for WL, and all they had was concierge, which was out of our budget. I ended up booking CBR, which was fine, but it would be our 3rd stay there and we wanted something different. I went online on Sat morning, and there was a WL woods view available. Yahoo!!! I called Disney right away, and was told, no sorry, there is no availability at WL. I said, I am looking at it online right now. She said, Nope, sorry.... you must be looking at the regular booking site, not the free dining site. She said if you can book it online, do it, and then call back to cancel CBR. That is what I did. I thought it was REALLY weird that I would be able to see availability online, and the Disney CM could not. When I called back to cancel CBR (and verify free dining in WL) that CM thought it was very odd too. Who knows?
And who cares!!?? Got WL w/Free Dining!!!:woohoo:  :yay: :cool1:

We are going to BWI 9/12 to 9/18. FDP saved us more than $300 over the 40% off code since we are considered 5 adults on the plan..

We booked Poly 9/22-9/30
I was getting nervous as I was on hold I was reading the boards seeing what other people were getting. Someone posted that their CM told them that there were no monorail deluxes available for check ins the later portion of the program including 9/22. I was frantic trying to come up with a backup plan because our backup plan WAS the monorail resorts.
When I got through the CM asked for what dates and what resort. I told him "hopefully the Poly" he said "why would you think that it wouldn't be available?" I said "Well I'm reading here that there is no availability at the monorail resorts for this time frame" (I didn't tell him what I was reading) he said "Don't believe everything you're reading on the Disboards, there is no problem" :scared1:
I about crapped myself as I had not told him that I was reading the disboards. I'm not saying the person who posted was not telling the truth, I'm sure they were just reporting what the CM had told them. I'm just saying that just because you read it on here, the outcome might be different when you get through to a CM.

We're staying at the Poly Sept. 14th-23rd. We originally had ressies at the WL but there was nothing available the morning we booked free dining. But, I'm happy with the Poly.

We have two rooms booked at Poly 9/8 thru 9/15 with the free dining. It is worth it for the freedom of getting whatever you want for most meals. This is our third year of free dining in Sept. :cheer2:

We are booked at WL Aug. 31 - Sept. 8, standard view. We would love to book one more night. We feel very fortunate, it doesn't look like too many WL rooms were available. :yay:

We got one of the (apparently) few WL Standard View rooms for 9/3-9/10. We originally booked with a TA but they couldn't get us anything at WL, even with different dates and a room upgrade, and that's the only place we wanted to stay. I decided to try calling myself Thursday afternoon and got a wonderful CM (I wish I remembered her name!) who checked all dates during FD and found us a room.

I just tried to extend our reservation at the WL one night. The CM said it wasn't available.,:sad2: :sad1:  Do you think I should keep calling? It seems like some CM can work more magic than others. They say that the room is available but not on the plan. They suggest booking the room as room only but that would not give me the dining plan for the last night which I don't understand. I'm wondering why they couldn't just extend it since we are already staying there?

You should keep calling. The CM's don't have control of room availability with the free dining code. Only a certain number of rooms are available for the promotion and when they are sold, they do not come up under the code. They may be available at the rack rate however as you saw.
Good Luck.

We got a standard view garden wing room at CR for 8/29-9/5. With 5 of us in the room, it's basically a wash *if* we had got a 40% off code. Since we didn't get the code, it's the best deal I thought I'd find!

Thanks guys,
I'll keep you posted. I plan on calling three times a day if I have to. Hopefully they will get tired of me and just give me the room. (I know, but I can dream can't I). I'm about to book my air so I really, really need to get the dates settled. Fingers crossed.

Forgot to add in the previous post...One night is not going to be available for the free dining code since the promotion has a 3 night minimum. You will have to ask the CM play around with the dates in order to get one more night. Another option if you belong to AAA is to see if there is a room only discount for the last night. No, you won't get free dining, but at least you have some sort of discount.
ETA: In case you don't want to play around with your existing resv. The AAA room only discount is avx from 9/8, checking out 9/9 for $205.59 (inc tax) rack rate is $241.88 (inc tax). As I said, you won't get free dining, but with the same view you might not have to change rooms. You can always book this one night through CRO and keep trying for a full free dining resv.
Again, Good Luck!

I booked CR MK view from 9/20-9/23 (first part of a split stay) with FD! I have th 40% off for our BC stay - a better deal for us with 2 adults and 3 kids. CR wasn't available for 40%, so I was pleasantly suprised to get the FD.

I think I would book the room anyway without the free dining. I guess I am saying this because I have 2 nights of room only before 8/26. I already had air for 8/24 at a great deal and there was no changing that. I'm not sure how many are in your party, but you may still have snack and CS credits for your last day. You can still use the dining plan up to midnight of your last day. Maybe you could just spread it our a little different. I know it's not ideal, and I would continue to keep calling everyday, but I wouldn't cut my trip short if I couldn't get it. That's just my humble opinion.

Thank you for the suggestion. I really have to think about that. We originally had the 40% before we switched, can use that for the last night? I wonder if it's too late. The suggestions for the dining are great. I'm sure we can save some counter services. I hope my husband goes for it. It is difficult for him to spend extra money. He grew up in a very large household and struggled. He works very hard and does well but is very thrifty. I appreciate it because we always stay on budget but it makes it difficult when it comes to making decisions like this.
Thanks again, I really appreciate it. (I love this board, I can feel the love :hippie: )

I was totally crushed that we didn't get the 40% discount for my big birthday in late October, but I am starting to feel a bit better about it since now we'll be there for our anniversary.

Still waiting for the final price, but it somewhere from $2,939.00 to $3,059.00, I just need to get my new contract from my Travel Agent. It should be the $2,939.00 as she should be matching my corporate discount of 5% off best rate.

Disney sent post cards with a 40% off code to select people. No one knows how they selected these people though. The dates on the code have now expired. I don't know exactly when the codes were for. It was a Disney thing though, not AAA.

AAA is Auto Club of America. You need to be a member. There are lots of benefits, one being discounts on rooms at WDW if available. Room only discounts can be booked through WDW; packages need to be booked through an AAA Agent.

We have 5 rooms at the Poly garden view 9/15-9/22. We booked 2 rooms with free dining and 3 rooms with the 40% off code. We first booked the 3 rooms with the code and 2 rooms with no discount- we should have thought it out and put the rooms on the 40% code with less people- we are not getting quite as great of a savings with the dining because there are less people in the 2 rooms we have free dining on. But- hey- we have still managed to save $3900.00 all together with the 2 codes :cool1: :cool1: !!!
So excited and cannot wait- only 150 days to go!
