i know some of the rooms don't have balconies. my question is do the sliding glass doors still open up? i know they have the rail there.i wouldn't mind getting one of these rooms if i am able to still open up the doors and stand near the railing.
also can anyone remind me how to over ride the a/c unit? i know you have to hold 2 buttons at the same time but i can't remember which ones.

We had a room without a balcony last summer and I am happy to report that the doors do still open.
As for the AC Override:
On the thermostat push the power button and the down arrow (that adjusts the temp) at the exact same time. If you do this correctly there will be the letters "bp" where the temp numbers usually are. You are now bypassing the sensors in the room. You can set the temp to whatever you want and it keeps the room that cold whether you are in it or not. The maintenance man said that you might have to do this once a day as the thermostat tends to go back to sensor mode after 24 hours.

I was wondering the same thing as everytime I have stayed at the poly we had a balcony. We are staying here in december in the hawaii building and was going to request a balcony room. I think I will take my chances now that I know the sliding doors open.

I really don't care about the balcony (I'm afraid of heights LOL). I must say that nothing beats having a lagoon view room with the door open to let a breeze in on a nice cool November day in FL :)
