View Full Version : Can someone explain why Delta is so expensive SLC to MCO?
Delta's hub is Salt Lake City. We love to fly Delta and have been lucky most of the time to get a good fare eventually, but specials come up all the time for other carriers. We have FF miles with Delta too. Also Delta is the only one with a non-stop flight to Orlando. We're looking to fly the end of June and right now its $561 RT per person!!!!! That's just ridiculous!!! I feel so much better when the flight is finally booked.
Just venting and whining I guess! Thanks for listening!

NO COMPETITION!! You hit the nail on the head, when you said Delta is the only airline with a nonstop flight. They have no one competing with them for the nonstop flight, so they can price it higher. If someone wants the convenience of a non stop, they just have to pay the high price!
I noticed some fares on Delta have dropped in the last few days, so you might want to chek it out!
Yeah, I thought that too about no competition for non-stop, but their connecting flights through Atlanta or Dallas are waaaaaaaaaay higher than others too.

Because it's Delta...I read in the newspaper this morning that Delta is having a sale, so check out the fares on its website today.

Don't feel bad....Delta does the same thing in Cincinnati where there is nil competition and try to do the same in Atlanta, except that they are forced to match Airtran's sales out of Atlanta as they also are based in Atlanta.
When I fly out of Minneapolis (Northwest's hub), I usually can only find a decent fare on Delta and Continental.
