Okay - so break it down for me. I'm trying to convince my hubby that this is a great deal but the Disney site won't give me pricing for this offer.
Cost of hotel, tickets etc. Did you book a package?

We booked the package as you need to to get the free dining..
I book Aug 27 to Sept 1 All star music.. with 4 days pass.. We did take the hopper with the water park just because it will be hot and we can do one park in the morning and than swim and than another park in the evening.and do a water park.. last time we didn't do the hopper and it was fine but we were there longer. The package came to just over $1600.00 (not sure of the excate total). We didn't take the insurance but you can add it on before you pay it off.
For Us i am really hoping to get a price for the air travel. i am hoping to get it for about 500-600 so it will cost about 2300-2400 with food, hotel, passes and air travel. Pretty good deal. Good luck trying to convience your husband!!

I had originally booked All Start Sports for September 8th to the 16th, but changed my reservation a few minutes ago to go to the All Star Music, as one of the pools was being refurbished at the Sports during that time.

We are booked Aug 28-Sept 4 at Riverside. Can't wait.
Going with DS and girlfriend which should be interesting. DS hasn't been since 2000 so I'm glad he's finally agreed to go back.

We just re-booked at the Port Orleans Riverside.
FAmily of four, dining plan, 6 day park passes for all the parks (except water) for nine days=$2100. Add in our airfare $900. Total vacation cost $3000!!!!
I am tickled pink!!:rotfl:
Of course, once we add in two rounds of golf, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Richard Petty Driving Experience, rental car for a day, odds and sodds, add on about $1500! lol
But still, that's awesome!!!!!

Woohoo! Turns out it didn't take much convincing. I was going to book one of the values and see if we could get a suite (dh hates the double beds and complains of backache all week long if that is what he sleeps in). And it turns out that poly-garden view was about $400 more so that was what we went for!
So, Aug 26 - Sept 1, Poly - Garden view, 4 1day base tickets (we have left over days on a ticket and an AP so we didn't need to pay for the full week for all four of us), free dining, we'll drive down - only fly if there is a really great deal. $2800. Not bad for a deluxe!
Only extras we'll need to pay is our travel expenses and mini-golf tickets (I promised hubby we'll spend less park time and more pool and golf time)
Hope you all book your ADRs now - the restaurants will definitely fill up fast!

Hi Fiona! We're at Riverside from the 22nd to the 1st - got our free dining with the bounceback program from Dec. :cool1: We'll have to get together one day. :) I booked all my ADR's back in Feb. AND, there's a Pirate and Princess party on the Friday night Aug 31st so we're very excited about that!
And your DS ... he must be growing up since he's agreed to go back to WDW. :thumbsup2
Congrats to everyone that got their Free Dining!

Hey Maryliz -- we will have to meet. We are doing the Princess/Pirate Party on September 3rd.
DS has a girlfriend that likes Disney and wants to go so that's really why he's agreeing to go. She works at the Disney Store too in Square One. They are going to the Princess Dinner in the Castle. We aren't doing that dinner though.

I remember you telling me that you enjoyed the Pirate/Princess party in Jan -- even though Jim couldn't go since he was sick. So when I heard the rumour it might be coming in Aug, I told DH back then that if they bring it back, we're definitely doing it! :cool1:
The things these kids will do for their boyfriends/girlfriends ... can't wait til mine are that age. ;)

This is a KOTS trip folks not even dh knows. The only people I will ever tell until departure is this board. I am pulling this entire trip off on my own.

Party time at POR it seems over Labour Day.
MaryLiz - oh he will be suffering at the Princess dinner! :rotfl: I'm actually thrilled that he's agreed to go back to WDW since he hasn't been since 2000 when he was 14. He actually asked us to go with them so I'm excited about that too even though at the moment we are only eating one meal with them. This whole process is interesting as this is the longest relationship he's had (fingers crossed they don't break up before the trip!).

I booked two rooms yesterday at ASSports for Aug 26 to Sep 02. Later, I noticed that the one pool was going to be closing on Aug 27 to refurbish. I phoned back at 8:00 pm to try to switch hotels and all value resorts were sold out for these dates. :sad2:

Sorry to hear this.
The same thing happened to me (booked Sports first and realized one of the pools was closed), but when I called them, they were able to change my reservation to the Music resort.
Anyway, the CM told me that we can use any of the pools, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Have fun

We'll be there Aug 31-Sept 5 but not on free dining. Our friends are going and staying at Pop and wanted us to join them but with APs and the DDE even with free dining it didn't make sense. So we'll be 2 nights at POP at $82 and then our first stay at BWV.

Was on phone tonight for about half an hour trying different variations since the labour day weekend seems to be sold out for free dining in the moderates. So we (me, DH, DD 10 and DS 7) are going for 5 nights with 1 base ticket/person (have leftover tickets from previous trips that will get us through rest of days) at Port Orleans French Quarter from Aug 26 - 31. Total cost was $1093. Pretty Decent! Now off to plan the meals and reserve...and keep close eye on Southwest site for flights!

Did you find good flights?
We are flying out of Edmonton, using Delta, for $1341.00 total!
I am excited. Last year we paid $3000 for flights.
I go onto Kayak and look for flights. Try different days. I know to fly back on a sunday can cost double somtimes. What are the dates you are looking for?

Normally we leave on a Tuesday and come back on a Thursday when flights are cheap however our dates were fixed. August 26- Sep 01 and we could not change that. We were looking at 3200cad for the five of us for those dates. I could have dropped it to 2700 if the dates changed. We decided to go in March instead as the dates work better for dh as his work is slower then.
