Every year or every other

We had our first DVC experience in October- BW Grand Villa. My family is now in the process of planning our next trip and we were wondering how many people go every year and how many bank their points and go every other.

Every year, GV OKW, 10-12 nights.

We go down twice a yr. But we have added on to our original purchase in 99.We always go down in Feb, and 1 other time, usually summer months. But it all depend how you want to use your points.... studios, 1 Br, etc.:bounce:

We joined DVC a few months ago and now are planning two trips next year. After that, mostly one big trip a year for us until we are "empty nested".

We go about 3 times a year. This year we are only going twice. Once for a week stay at OKW followed by the 7 day cruise, then in October we are taking four friends down for a weeks stay in a GV.

We originaly planned on going every year for about 10 days. We figured we would eventually taper off and go every other year for about 2 weeks.
WRONG! We will be on our way for our 4th and 5th trip (March and August 2002) since buying Feb of 2000. This works out to about twice a year and we figure we will keep this up until either we get tired of it { RIGHT ;) } or we run out of points { MORE LIKELY :( }. Of course we have been going for shorter trips (6 Nights). I look so foward to my DVC vacations that I can't dream of waiting more than 6 months between them. Actually our next trip is 7 months from our last and it seems like an eternity :mad: .

We either go two or three times in one year and then take a year off, or we go down for one longer trip on consecutive years. I am leaning toward doing the longer trip each year now. WE like to have guests come down, and with the longer trips, we can have different guests at different times in one trip.

We originally purchased our points to have enough to go once a year for 7-8 days in a 1 bedroom.

However, until our daughter gets in school, we are going twice a year for 7-10 nights each in a studio.

We got a great trip from this board to stagger the dates to get multiple trips out of one annual pass.

And, like many others, always open to the possiblity of an add on. ;)

We go twice a year, May and early December. We go 6 nights, Saturday to Friday so that we only have 1 weekend night. We need a Saturday night for the airfare, but flying on a Saturday can be harder to get. Before DVC our trips were usually Thursday to Tuesday, midweek when airfare was cheaper and easier to get, but with DVC that would mean 2 weekend nights. We like May at OKW and early December at BWV, 1 bedroom. We work our trips so that we get 3 trips out of each AP. For example, we went the second week of May last year, first week of December and then this year we will go the first week of May before the AP expires. Then buy new ones the second week of December.

Twice a year, March for 10 days, then Thanksgiving for 5 days. Before DVC we used to deprive ourselfs and go once a year in March for 10 days and spend gobs of $. Now we can go more often and spend less for more comfort.

We went twice in 2001. This March we'll be trying out the new Grand Californian at DL, so maybe we'll only make it WDW once this year.

Once a year for 12 nights in a 2 bedroom at OKW. Like clockwork. Same two weeks every year (last week of July/first week of August). This year I broke the tradition by attending DIScon 2001. We are going to "skip" this year's trip since we have already borrowed most of our 2002 points. :(

The original plan was to go every other year for 8 nights in a 2 BR the last week in March. So far, I've scaled back to a one BR (2 kids 4 & 7) and used points for Disneyland, a trip in January, and plan on going to Hawaii next year. I quickly realize that 300 points is just not doing it for me, and plan to buy at BCV when it's available.

We originally planned on once a year. However, since joining DVC we've been averaging twice a year - usually one week in April and one week in October.

We will be going on an Alaskan Cruise in 2003. So, we may have to skip Disney that year:(

We just purchased a little over a year ago, but the plan is to go every other year, for two weeks if our schedules allow. It looks good for this year and we are going 5/25-6/8.

For the other years, we plan to go to DLResort, so we get at least one big Disney fix a year.

We're taking our first trip with our DVC in a couple of weeks....we'll be staying for 12 nights, our longest trip ever. But, our last wdw trip was in Aug. of 2000.....waaaaaaaay too long ago! We will be going at least once a year if not more often. This year we have 3 trips scheduled, but depending on circumstances may cancel our weekend in May (vacation time/$/other financial goals/location/and flying vs. driving are factors)

I think those that plan to go every other year end up going at least yearly!

When we bought our original plan was one week every other year in a 2BR BWV in the summer (I teach). Last year we added on so in the off years we can spend 5 days in a 2BR at VWL. We did an extra trip in december but not on points.

I live in Scotland which by car and air is at least 14 hours away, and also being in the military restricts the visits we can make as a family. So being a member I can only advise to go often, your family will love you for it.

As of now Id have to say we are planning on using our points once every year.
We spent 9 nights at Wilderness Lodge in Oct. Then I had an extra week vacation (no pay) and took a cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line to Key West & Cozumel in Dec. I would love to take 2 full weeks plus all my long summer weekends but I know in reality I cant do that plus pay off DVC.
This year we are planning on waiting till Nov when we are cruising the Eastern Caribbean on the Disney Magic! Yahoo - cant wait to take DH and DS on their first cruise.
Next year - who the heck knows? It's wonderful to be able to dream.

The plan start out to go every other year to DW and every spring to HH.Well we add on found that we could go more often if we stayed in a studio sometimes. This year we have been four times and have ressie for Jan WL 5 nights 1 bed-March 7day cruise (cash) April HH 2bed 5 nights-Sept. BW 5 nights stuido- Oct-BW 5 nights studio-Dec WL 2bed 5 nights I know we are very addicted also thinking of HH in June

this is our 1 st dvc trip, we only have 150 pts. so at most we can go once a year, or have a really nice trip every 1 1/2- 2
years for our family of 4, but this fine for now maybe we'll do an add on in the future. :D :) :D
