if you make an account in vmk central in disney, can you get all the stuff if you activate it in your own home???:confused: :confused: popcorn::

We made an account for my nephew the other day at home and you get nothing but what you pick the clothes on your back and a room no credits at all now.

Per a CM, not an error. BIP characters and home characters are the same now, except for the BIP Badge.

Uh, Marketing 101? Give them a reason to go to the park...... Guess not.

Maybe they'll release ears then! I really really really want a pair, but I hardly ever go to Disney.....and I can't seem to find anyone to trade me for them right now.

I think you need to pick the ears to get them.
i was asking if you make the name and enter all the info at disney then you go home and login make the name and pick everything you wear will you get the badge and other things

Aww, I am sorry to hear this as my trip is coming up soon. I was hoping to be able to get a tiki tiki room.

Strange. When I went to WDW in mid-March, I created my character and got a few credits (albeit not many), quite a few tops, the black ears, the 5/9 pin, and the turnstile, and all the rooms that usually come with a BIP character (and the badge, too). And if you all recall, at the start of April I accidentally created 2 new characters. They all came with some credits and quite a few clothes. Strange that I'm not experiencing the same thing y'all are. Maybe the DL CM was wrong and it's a bug. Either that or WDW hadn't changed things yet.

As for why?
They unofficially said that it had to do with players abusing the "perks" of in park characters by making endless characters just to get the ears, pin, etc.....

Maybe at DL at WDW the computers seldom work at least they did not when we were there in Sept.

Did not get to create even one made in Park character as each time we visited VMK central they were down. :(

I gave my ears away quite a while back and asked a cm the other day when creating an account why are there no ears anymore? And he said that people were abusing the system by creating alot of accounts or something around that so I simply said ok even tho I was sad expecting another pair of ears for my main character to use.

No, you can not and never have been able to. My main female character (SheOutofMind) was started in WDW and the computers died after the account was set up. When I finished her set up at home, I got nothing at all except for what I chose. All this happened in July 2005.

The reason I ask is that for a short while around the Christmas holidays it was that way, but the last 2 characters I created (for others) about 2 months ago got all the Born-In-Park stuff that was given previously.

Guess I'll have to make a run to WDW on my next day off to verify it.

This must be something very new. My DD just made her male character in the parks in late March at WDW and she got the ears, the rooms, credits, etc. It has always been at home that you got nothing. We're going on Sunday so maybe we'll swing by and see if it is the same at WDW. I hope not. We were going to make characters for the nephews who live out of state so they could get the extras as well.

One (or two) bad apples in the bunch and we all suffer.
This makes me so sad as I really want ears, but I'm too new to have anything rare to trade.

Maybe disney should make you work harder to get the ears rather than take them away all together. Like a new hidden mickey quest etc.

Actually I am very glad to report that as of midday on Monday 4/16 it was NOT true. The character I finished creating at WDW VMK Central got all the normal extra stuff a Born In Park character gets (4 extra rooms, 200 credits, turnstile, pin, black ears, and extra clothes).

All I can think of in AstroStan's case is that he might not have finished creating the character in the park or that the gifts are actually given at the park log in after final creation and that failed. I also wonder if the Born In Park badge was given.

I am not sure what actually triggers the Born In Park badge and gifts (and if these are actually triggered separately). Possibly the IP address that the browser is at? If it is the IP address this would be different for WDW and DLR. Thus they could choose which gets what.

VMKers elsewhere are confirming the rooms, credits, outfits, badge, and ears are back at DLR also. So either there was a bug and some CMs got a wee bit confused, or someone in charge changed their minds about chucking the in park features and brought them back. Either way, glad to hear all is back to normal on that front.
