Hoping to get some help from anyone who has booked the MYW package through AAA. I am trying to plan a family trip for next year and was thinking about getting a AAA membership, but before I do I thought I would just check and see what kind of savings anyone has received on booking the package through them. I know the average room-only discount is about 20% during value, but haven't really seen a figure on what the package discount is?? There are 4 families going next year (early August 08) and I have been asked to but all the info together before we decide how to book. I'm not even going to tell them about the whole free dining thing since it probably won't apply to early August. Greatly appreciate any help from you.:goodvibes

Hi! The discount is the same on a package as it would be on a room only reservation. When you book a AAA discounted package they discount the room only portion of the package. So if your going to a moderate or value resort during value season you'd get 20% of the room rates and then pay full price for the tickets & dining package (if you purchase it). You can book a room only reservation with a AAA discount yourself through Disney, however only a AAA travel agent can book you a discounted package.

As stated before the discount is only off your room. AAA does sometimes offer some discounted tickets (like 5% off) but not in combination for a package. So for the price of a package (if the AAA room is available) you deduct the room discount from the rack rate of the packge.
AAA room discounts (when there is availability) are -
Value, Moderate, Campsites -
Value season 20% off
Regular, Summer, Peak 15% off
Delux, Cabins (?), etc -
Value season 15% off
Regular, Peak 10% off
No discounts during Holiday season.
ETA: That is what they are this year, it is possible for them to change (just as the resort room prices will probably go up) for next year.

Anyone know how to avoid the $10.00 sign up fee attached to the AAA membership?

call and ask them. we had a mailer. Sometimes they can waive those fees if you get a nice one. our mailer actually had the fee waived and 2 months free as well as the second cardholder free.
