Portable Safety Gates

Has anyone used a portable child gate at OKW in a GV? I was wondering if the stairs had a wall on each side at the bottom that would support it. Or, are the stairs out of the way and I could block them off another way to keep our 1 & 2 year old from climbing up? Thanks

The GV has a short wall on one side of the stairs and a full wall on the other. I am sure a baby gate could be used there. I can't remember if the short wall is tall enough, but it seems to me it would be.
