Hello Everyone! I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me, this is my first trip to Disney and there is a large group of us. We will be traveling with our 4 year old son and 1 year old daughter and both sets of inlaws. We will be staying at a friends time share but after that I have no clue where to start planning. Drive or Fly, how to get tickets to disney, money saving tips, etc....

Any help will be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

I would highly recommend that you run, don't walk, to your nearest bookstore and purchase Birnbaum's guide to Walt Disney World. This is a fabulous book that will certainly help you get started with tickets, dinning, attractions, etc. Another note on tickets, check www.wdwinfo.com (this site) for discounted tickets.

another site used often for planning is www.allearsnet.com - you can learn all your options for admission tickets and the differences between expiring and non-expiring, advance purchase or not, etc.

with kids, I recommend an early start to the day, a mid-day relaxation break - hard to do when you are not staying at a disney hotel but consider going to one of the nearby hotels for lunch and a relaxation break in comfy chairs somewhere.

with a large group don't feel you have to all move as a single unit everywhere. You can get tired of too much family time on trips... more stress than people realize!

First off....Woohoo!!:cool1: I don't know what it is about Disney that makes planning a trip soooo much fun! It's addicting, this site, the books, the dvd's...be careful, lol...:hippie: It can get really overwhelming :scared: but take note of everything you're looking for in your family vacation and take the planning from there.:surfweb::coffee: Disney offers soooo much that you can often get a little overwhelmed by your choices, take into consideration the ages of your wee ones and plan around that. If you have BOTH  sets of in-laws going with you that may mean that you and dh can have a few minutes to yourselves so possibly plan for a few hours rekindling your childhood with your hubby.:cheer2: I'm not an expert on Disney by any means but I am an expert planner and I planned our last trip to WDW like I was running a tight ship. After the first 2 days we were all pooped right out, so remember its all about getting some much deserved R&R and not all about seeing EVERY character and Every nook and crany (thats impossible anyways) of WDW.
Good Luck and Get crazy Planning, lol!pixiedust:

Yes allears.net is full of good information. That site and this forum are great starting points.
