Anyone else have this "feature" (Photo Movie DVD) missing from their updated free dining package?
It was listed along with:
-Miniature Golf Voucher
-Planet Hollywood $15 Meal Voucher
-Sea Raycer Offer Voucher
on my original package confirmation & now that it's updated with free dining, it's gone?

Maybe it was because the package changed - it seems as though you must have had the free dining code applied to a package that you already had. I presume (and I know that can be a very bad thing to do) that the perks listed - free mini golf, meal voucher, etc. - were the perks added for the prior package.
I just don't believe that Disney allows codes to be stacked on top of each other - if that is the case only the new perks - free dining - would be in effect.

I am pretty sure you still get the same perks (we did last year anyway) but might want to double check. Interested to find out as well

Bummer! Just contacted my TA & she said that it's not part of the amenities on the free dining promo! However, it was part of the 40% code?? (which I originally booked with) Odd. I thought that all those features would stay the same too considering they just changed my ressie...kept the same confirmation #.
Anyone else who had an exisiting ressie have this change on their free dining ressie?? Not that I don't believe my TA, just curious!

That's too bad! I had a voucher for a free Dsney movie DVD when we checked in a couple of weeks ago, luckily, it is good until Jan 2008 so I will use it for our sept 2007 vacation since during that trip we will visit all the parks, and BBBoutique.
The movieDVD was indeed a perk for the ones having booked the 40% off offer, I guess free dining is still a pretty good deal don't ya think?
Same thing happened last year. There was a photopass promotion that free dining reservations could not get that other travellers did.

It is a video they put together, all you need to do is just upload your pictures or use theirs from the Photopass photographers. They use Disney characters to do give the DVD some special effects. If you would like here is a link to my families photo DVD.

That is WONDEFUL! Is this something you do while AT Disney, or at home after your trip? I couldn't play the whole thing as I was at work. But do they limit the # of pics that can be included? I think I saw 4 diff't icons on your site. I'll have to explore it more later. Really terrific!!!!

Hello,
I was concerned about this as well so I just called. My original reservation was for the ASMo and they had mailed me my info with all these little perks listed. Later I upgraded to CBR and they only mailed me a bill, so I wasn't sure if I was still getting those extras. Tomorrow I am trying for the free dining... So anyway, I explained all of this to her and she said:
1) all of those extras are included in all of the packages.
2) I should be able to add free dining when and if it goes out to the regular public without changing my current reservation (I know this isn't important to anyone else but me, but I was glad to hear it :) ).
3) all those little extras will still be included in the packages.
So unless I got someone who doesn't know what she's talking about, I think all should be fine. I think they perhaps do not update the info as fast or as detailed as we'd like.
Hope that helps (it at least helped me!).
:)

My TA faxed me a copy of the confirmation that Disney sent her.

Which could very well be the case. I have had CM's give out a lot of incorrect information. In fact, I saw a post just a few minutes ago by someone who's TA just talked to a CM that told her there was no free dining offer at this time.

Yes, I called Disney.
It's surely possible there is misinformation going on. The CM I spoke to though had also said she was not allowed to confirm what I heard about free dining and that I should keep checking online to see if it will be offered, so maybe that is what that other CM meant.

This is correct in that Disney does not have a free dining package offered to the general public at this time. Disney CMs risk their jobs if they release information about upcoming offers before they are authorized to do so. I hope most people here would be understanding of that, despite the rumours that abound on this website and others. So please try to remember that CMs have rules they must follow before you accuse them of giving out incorrect information.

As another person mentioned, the Photo Movie DVD was a special feature added ONLY to the 40% discount PIN offer that people were able to book this winter. If you changed to the Disney Visa Free Dining offer, you will receive the features of that program which DO NOT include the Photo Movie DVD.

There is an offer of free dining available for Visa holders at this time. I assumed they were referring to that offer.
But let me give other examples:
CM's have said you can use 2 park days to re-enter a park without having park hopping. Not true.
I was told when making a reservation I had to have 2 rooms for my family of 5 at AKL. Not true.
POFQ CM's told me king rooms don't connect to other rooms and I just had someone tell me they have stayed in a room like that 3 times.
CM's do give out wrong information all the time and that is what I am pointing out. It's absolutely true. I was simply cautioning people about that.

And as I think I stated quite clearly, there is NOT a GENERAL PUBLIC free dining offer at the present time. The only free dining package currently available is being offered ONLY to a select group, that is, DISNEY VISA card holders.
With regard to your comment about AKL, it is entirely possible that at the time you were trying to book, there were no deluxe savannah bunk bed or deluxe concierge rooms available, in which case 2 rooms would have been required for a partyof 5. I wasn't there, I don't know how the conversation went and unless you were standing over the CM's shoulder looking at their computer, you have no way of knowing what accommodations were available when you called.
That actually is neither here nor there though, as I was referring to the specific comments regarding free dining and I stand by what I said, especially when it comes to discount packages. I have to admit, I get sick and tired of the way people on these boards bash CMs constantly for supposedly giving wrong information or not knowing something. Although they work for Disney, most of them are not Disney obsessed like so many here on the DIS boards. They are also obligated to follow the rules set forth by their employer or they risk losing their jobs. I'm not saying CMs never make mistakes, but then again, they are human and usually do not deserve the bad-mouthing they often receive here on the discussion boards.

I booked under that offer and it is not on one of my confirmations, but I do have the postcard and will mention it when I get there if I have not been given it.

Disney CMs risk their jobs if they release information about upcoming offers before they are authorized to do so. I hope most people here would be understanding of that, I understand that. I think Allison is referring to a post I made yesterday. The TA initially told me I was wrong, that Disney would be offering a discount on the Dining Plan this year, that there would NOT be free dining, that one of her coworkers had spoken to Disney earlier in the day. When I insisted, she called again. The result of that call was that the promotion is only being offered to Disney VISA cardholders and could I get one of those in two days. Since I had and have no intention of getting another credit card, she called one MORE time and yes, finally called me back to say I was right and that she's keeping my file on her desk to call and convert tomorrow.
And as I think I stated quite clearly, there is NOT a GENERAL PUBLIC free dining offer at the present time. The only free dining package currently available is being offered ONLY to a select group, that is, DISNEY VISA card holders. True. But given AAA's relationship with Disney, I would expect that their Travel Agents would be aware of a promotion two days before it's available to the general public. "Let me get back to you on Thursday" would have been a better response.
