For our November trip we have one couple who will not know until quite late whether they will be able to join us. I have already sunk most of my points into this trip so I can't reserve a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom without borrowing more points. Will MS let me reserve a studio and a 1 bedroom separately but have them be connecting? It will be more points than a 2 bedroom, but then I can just cancel the studio part if this couple can't make it. I have also considered just taking my chances but am afraid that Nov. 11 - 18 might be tough to cancel a 1 bedroom and get a 2 bedroom on about 60 days notice. Any advice appreciated.

MS will note it as a request, but it would not be guaranteed. The only way to be certain that the rooms will connect is to reserve a 2BR. If you have enough points, I'd reserve the 2BR and the 1BR and cancel whichever you won't need (as long as you know 31 days or more in advance).

Good luck! :)

Doc,
Do you know how many 1 bedrooms and 2 bedrooms there are at OKW? My guess is that 1 bedrooms are easiest to get (like in other DVCs). Maybe I could risk booking the 2 bedroom lock-off and cancel it and hope for a 1 bedroom if DB can't make it. Maybe if there is a waitlist for a studio I might get lucky and they would split the 2 bedroom? Worst case I would waste points and have only 2 people in a 2 bedroom. If this weren't my brother (who is in charge of a big changeover at work that is behind schedule) I wouldn't be obsessing!

There are 274 dedicated 2 bedrooms. 230 1 bedrooms and 230 studios (all of which can be lock-off units)

Hmm, I could swear we had a 1-bedroom at OKW that had no lock-off to a studio. Did I just imagine that? I know we had a 1-bedroom at BWV that had no lock-off. Now you having me second guessing myself. :confused3

Thanks, Chuck. I'll have to do some thinking about how those numbers affect my odds. It amazes me how fast I can always get info on this site!

All one bedrooms and studios at OKW are lock-offs, no dedicated.
