Here is the second thread. There is nothing much more to say, although Mikki says that with her Father in law in Hospital ( pixiedust: :wizard: :grouphug: for you at this time!) she might be on and off this week.

Some questions:

How long have you been with us?

How long were you lurking?

How is Father-in-law now? Any improvements from when we last Talked??

I think that will do. Although I expect this might be another case of where we all sob for the entire week (Carol think of something silly now!!!! :lmao: )

Hey Mikki

I hope your father in law is getting better

My questions are :-

When was your first visit to WDW ?

Had you been to DLP first ?

Did you have your children when you first went to WDW ?

Do you like having photos taken with the characters ?

Do you like to get autographs of the characters ? (and don't blame the kids) :rotfl2:

Mandy :)

Joined in August 2000 apparantly. Seemed to have joined a number of discussion boards that year! Probably became more active last year here as the UK perspective is helpful. Not sure I lurked much before joining.

Father in law slowly improving, now out of the coronrary care unit and in a general ward. We still aim to go visit again but probably only once. I wasn't thinking clearly when I responded to your initial query about was this week ok, as I completely forgot I am away a couple of nights at the end of the week! :confused3 Sorry!

First visit to WDW was 1987 for our honeymoon.
First visit to DLP was for opening day in 1992.
No children then or now.
Love have pictures with characters - just ask Figaro!
We did autographs once for a friend in the UK. Another time we did get them to autograph postcards for us to send (saved us writing them all!)

My favourite hotel at WDW is Old Key West in a one bed followed closely by concierge level at the Contemporary (only done that once but it was wonderful!)

I did a 3 night Disney cruise because I was lucky enough to win it.

Occupation: Very happily retired and I love it :rotfl:

I drive a Honda Jazz - my first ever Honda and probably the best car I have ever had:love:

It was pure fluke - just a business card draw at an exhibition while I was still working. It was a DLP stand and I suspect they didn't expect anybody to fly out to Florida just for a 3 day cruise but they didn't know that we were always planning a trip out there!

I would consider another cruise because it was great fun - where else could you get a picture like this that was actually real?

Disney wise we have done Paris, Florida and California. Done around the United Kingdon and Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, Bulgaria and South Korea (the only place I have travelled to where I have been glad to find a MacDonalds!)

Hi Kaylee

Gosh, these are tough ones to choose!

Starter - a really good prawn cocktail
Mains - Mushroom fillet from le Cellier
Not a great dessert person so maybe yoghurt or icecream but the creme brulee at le Cellier is rather yummy
Non-alcoholic would be diet coke or orange juice
Alcoholic is the only easy answer - red wine

It's not the exact question but I will confess I am 46 but have never grown up :cool1:

Hi AnneMarie

They all have good points but I think Florida has to be my favourite. I love the castle and dragon in France, the Matterhorn in Disneyland but for sheer choice Florida wins.

Favourite WDW park? Torn between Epcot and MK. Used to be Epcot but with all the changes maybe MK now.

Least favourite is AK - too hot and always feels crowded.

Have been to Universal but not since IoA opened. Keep thinking might go again but have not felt sufficient need to do so.

I would love to visit Tokyo as it sounds fantastic. Think I need a lottery win to get there!

Hi Sara

Advice - remember to enjoy each moment of your life

Regrets? Not that many really but sometimes wish I could have been more forthright with some awkward people in the past.

Happiest memory? Soppy, but getting married to my dh who is an amazing man

WDW memory - I think that may be when we got upgraded to concierge floor and presidents day room at Contemporary. My dh had been very stressed out from work and cross that we were swapping resorts part way thru trip and the room, view and service just put a much needed smile on his face

Hi Kaylee - I like the new Avatar too - it is one Disney gave away recently :goodvibes

I love Christmas!

I have a fake tree and to make sure it is obviously fake it is black. Decorated with lots of Mickey head ornaments and other Disney stuff of course!

Until last year we used to spend Christmas with dh's family as they had a big house. Now our house is big enough everyone came to us last Christmas and I cooked the lunch and all the other meals. We even had Canadian Cheddar cheese soup for one of the meals :)

Christmas shopping? Well we went to WDW in January and probably started then - lol We don't have kids but we do try to be fair in what we give to the neices and nephews.

Hi again Kaylee :lmao:

Yes I am learning to garden as we did not have one in London but have quite a big one in Lincolnshire. I have a lovely man from the village who comes and helps me out and educates me as we go!

I have built a herb garden and it is very colourful as well as useful. My favourite flower is a daffodill and I love fuscias and Hydrangeas.

Our neighbours do a lot of BBQing so we benefit from that but have so far resisted buying one ourselves although we do have an electric grill/bbq thingy

Hi Jo! It's a good surname ;) I always joke that I only married him so I could be young forever :lmao:

I really enjoyed driving down the Californian coast road - it was incredible. When they said hill curves for the next 64 miles they meant it!

DH had an ill health retirement a few years ago. He is an amazing man. He has been blind since birth (can see a little - say at 2 feet he sees what we would see at 60 feet) he qualified as a solicitor and then had kidney failure so has had two transplants. Fortunately the second one worked or we would never have met. All he anti-rejection drugs etc did take their toll and with the way work was they finally decided to retire him. He spent 20 years working as a solicitor for the civil service but he wasn't a typical civil servant. he quite enjoyed being a house husband until I also escaped! :goodvibes

Fruit and nut from Lidls

I like all the house :rotfl2: OK, my study where I am now is a mix of book shelves and disney display shelves, oh, and a PC!

Favourite shop - hmm - can I say World of Disney?

Clothing - currently some Rohan stuff and fave for cool evenings is a long sleeved chaMois top *** it is so comfy.

I have accomodation booked (start in a one bed at OKW then move to a 2 bed at Marriott Sabal Palms for a week and then back to a 1 bed at OKW) and APs from our trip in January. Not booked any restaurants yet but I do want to do Jiko's this time. I'm using Tour Guide Mike for the first time so we will see how that helps - it looks interesting so far.

Um - don't think that is powered up at the moment and the DVD recorder does not have a clock showing.

I prefer TL every time - more shade and cool water sprays.

I bought my first pair of crocks in January because they had Mickey Mouse heads on them. They are surprisingly comfortable.

We have a wooden front door that is stained with mahogany colour I think.

Hi Sara

Ideal day - that is tough because we are pretty happy as we are without ons of money! I play tennis, we sit on our decking by the river (with a drink in hand!), I cook and occasionally garden and we plan trips to family and WDW

We met through an organisation called Junior Chamber or Jaycees. There used to be groups all over the country and he led the group in London while I led the Group in Eastbourne and we were in the same region so kept meeting. When my worked moved me to London he let me use his spare room till I found somewhere and I never moved out!

He is from Yorkshire so is not the most romantic soul but he does have a really sweet smile. Before we were married I had 3 male friends all called Andrew and was ue to meet another one of them that night when some flowers arrived. It turned out they were actually from this Andrew and not the one I was meeting as I discovered when I rang the florist to ask which town they had been sent from :rotfl2:

I think I am going to have to claim proposing to him as romantic. I didn't wait for leap year and he said I'm supposed to be the one doing that so I said 'go on then'! :rotfl:

So many good meals! :loved Empress Lily room in the old days, had some wonderful meals at Yachtsman Steakhouse and most recently had a divine meal at Flying Fish. Oh, some of the meals in Key West were amazing too but I can't remember the restaurants name.

Been to St Petes beach for a week.

Horse riding and Kayaking in my youth. Not sure I am brave enough for white water rafting anymore but it does appeal. Think the rides at Disney and their water parks is close enough for me now :lmao:

20 years this May

Friston near Eastbourne in a tiny country Church

Being able to give up work and the chance to upsize and down price our property ;)

We each have a study so play on computers and internet. I play tennis at a couple of clubs and we enjoy our garden and drinks on the decking by the river. I also have time to do a lot more cooking than I did. we are getting involved in village life and Andrew is about to join the parish council while I am likely to join the PCC.

I like to keep you busy :)

Does your Teddy Bear have a name?

Do you have ornaments in your house?

How many photo's do you have on display in your house?

Do you go on holiday at the same time of the year?

Have you ever been to the Australia?

Ted

Had to buy a bigger house to fit all the Disney ornamets in!

Our smallest room has the wall covered in photos to amuse people while they are busy doing their business :lmao:

We have been to WDW every month of the year so no we don't go on holiday the same time but we did go Jan 2006 and 2007.

Never been to Australia. I would like to but Andrew wouldn't.

1) Turn the Tardis in my house (currently a video storage unit) into a real TARDIS preferably including a real Doctor Who that I can go on adventures with

2) Fix it so I win a night in the castle suite on my next trip in October

and a nice simple one to finish with.....

3) Peace and goodwill throughout the world

Can you manage all that? :hippie: :rotfl:

so Mikki,

who would you most hate to be stuck in a lift with and why?
who would you most like to be stuck in a lift with and why?
who was/is your favourite Dr Who and why?
which one of Dr Who's assistants would you most like to have been?
which period in time would you most like to go back to and why?

A mass murderer because I could be his next victim!

A lift engineer so he could get us out!

Jon Pertwee because he was the Doctor when I started watching and I have always liked him. He was also a lovely man who I had the good fortune to meet.

I liked Sarah Jane Smith. I identify with her because she ws a reporter and I have done work with magazines over the years.

To be honest I would rather not go back in time. I like the modern comforts like inside toilets!

Evening Kaylee :3dglasses

Our only pets are toy cats ;)

We have some STOs to charities and I am about to head up the fundraising committee to help restore our local Church (it was on Restoration Village last year)

I often watch the headlines but decide I can't stand to watch any more.

I have to confess our next trip away from home is tomorrow as we are going down to london for the weekend and won't be back until Sunday afternoon :scared:

Well tomorrow we are having dinner at the Mansion House with the Lord Mayor of London as our Livery Company (World Traders) is holding it's Election Dinner there. It's a white tie event which means a new long frock for me :yay: We are then staying with friends and they are doing a dinner party on saturday for some of our old friends from London that we don't see as often. Sunday we come home just after lunch.

Doctor Who is a favourite and I loved West Wing when it was on.

I don't play any other sports regularly anymore but I do play Tabletennis occasionally. I used to play hockey, netball and squash.

Hi Mikki

Sorry I haven't been around to post any questions this week what with school holidays and organising the family/house so they won't all expire while I'm away next week. Here's a couple from me ....

If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?

If you could have any job what would it be?

If you could marry anyone in the world who would you choose?

My favourite isa glass square with Mickey laser etched in the middle on top of the world saying Celebrate the future hand in hand. My friends came over to Disney to celebrate my 40th and bought it for me. Otherwise lots of Mickeys and Figaro's from WDCC etc.

G'night!

Hi Lisa

I might be tempted by WDW but I actaually rather enjoy village life in Lincolnshire :)

Again, very happy to be retired rather than any job!

Soppy answer but I would marry my husband any day :cloud9:

Never heard of the last song you mentioned! :rotfl: Don't think I have ever had someone sing to me but my soppy husband and I do sometimes attempt to sing a few bars of 'Can you feel the love tonight' together

We had a good weekend apart from the fact I caught a bug from visiting FiL so wasn't feeling great and wasn't eating or drinking (alcohol!).

Anyway here is a pic of us on the Friday night:
