Hi, everyone!!
Just wondering who will be joining us on the Magic's 6/22/02 sailing to the western caribbean. Would love to "meet" some people ahead of time. DH (turning 39 on the ship) and I (38) sailed 5/26/01 with DD and DS, but are going this one "kidless"! Who will be on board with us?

We sailed with you last May! We decided this month (were visiting with Cyndilou who also sailed with us last year) to investigage a time to go on the western cruise. Got out here to check the board and see if there were any names I still recognized! Will let you know if we decide on this date.

Snow, what is that??!! No snow up here in Syracuse, for a change!! Only 7 inches all year. But the Caribbean sounds better than freezing temperatures. Hope we find more people that are going like last year's cruise.

Hi, everyone--
we are getting more excited and more organized with each passing day. We now have a suite booked at the Radisson for Friday night (thanks to our guardian angel) and my next quest is to figure out transportation from and to the airport.
Here's our situation-- flying in friday a.m. and have to get to the Radisson--have checked with Tiffany TownCar and have that information, but am wondering if it might be a good idea to rent a car (less expensive, since just 2 of us and an opportunity to see friends in the area and to shop). Here's the question--I know there is an Avis at the Radisson for us to return the car, but does anyone know of another option? (we have our hearts set on a convertible, if we are going to rent a car).
Second question--should we use the Disney transfer back to the airport? or use a shuttle service? does anyone have any experience in this regard?:p

Cam, Thank God for that "Guardian Angel", she called me for your phone # last night. She came through for us too for the Radisson. Well, we have only used Tiffany Town Car Service each time we have been down there. Debbie is a great person, she is the owner of the town car service. We are going in the Town car and the rest of the 8 of our party are going in the 15 passenger van. We have round trip transfers from them and the other 8 have 1 ways as they are renting cars when we get back to Avis to visit family in FL. We are going right back home the day we get off the ship (bummer:mad: ) Oh well, we have had nothing but great service from Tiffany!!

Roberta,

153 Days to go!!!! ( and counting...)

I enjoyed the great pictures (Christmas Card & school photos of your DD and DS) you sent to Cam, she shared it with me. You all looked so happy being on the cruise last year. We seemed to have permanent smiles on our faces all throughout the cruise too.

We are greatly looking forward to this years cruise and seeing everyone again. Give everyone our best.

Email us any time cometti@twcny.rr.com we have teens going with us too. Maybe they can catch up on email. Howard, glad you and Cam enjoyed the pictures. Hi hokiecruiser5! We'll be on the same cruise. Me, DH, DD 15 and DS 12. If your kids are interested in e-mailing our kids let us know. They have already been talking to rcdisneyfan's kids! It's great to make some connections before the cruise. I noticed from your profile that you are a teacher....DH teaches high school English and I teach elementary!! Feel free to e-mail !:bounce:

Hokiecruiser5, do get in touch with some of us with teens. It makes it easier for the kids when they get on the ship to meet up with each other. Let's keep this thread going too and maybe we will find some more families cruising on June 22, 2002.

Hi, Beth and Hokie and families--
It is so great to hear from all of you.
DH (Howard) and I were on the 7 day Magic eastern caribbean sailing memorial day week of 2001, together with rcdisneyfam and carolines and their families. I am sure that any of us would love to "share the magic" with anyone new to DCL. Feel free to email me at keenercam@aol.com if I can be of any help.

Well, here is the first of my "in"famous surveys--
do you all have early seating? or late seating?

Looking forward to your responses--let's keep this thread up front and see if we can attract the attention of any others on our sailing!:smooth:

Hi Beth,

I grew up in the Pittsburgh area and was wondering what part of town you are from. I grew up along the Allegheny River up in Oakmont, then moved to New Kensington where my parents live now.

I am really enjoying the success the Steelers this year and wish them well in the next game against New England.

I am looking forward to the possibility of meeting you, and your family, on the Magic in June. A super time will be had by all.

Take Care!

Hi everyone! We have the late seating but I'm trying to get it changed to early....DD thinks she'll miss too much in CG if we eat late. At this point we are on the waiting list to change but I really don't care when we eat as long as we EAT!! Any other teens out there who would like to e-mail ours..DD (15) and DS (12)!!:bounce:

Hi all, finally back on the boards. I have not been able to get on in days as I am sure everyone else had problems. Glad they are back up. Well, we should find out soon when the May 11th cruisers get their info on the excursions, then we can plan better what we want to do on the islands. Hope all is well, we are venturing south for the week of Feb. 18th with the kids in the car and going to see Caroline and Mike S. in GA and making our way back up to NY. So, everyone keep this thread going and hope all is well with everyone.

Howard & Cam...We have finalized the "Road Trip" to GA to visit Caroline & Mike. Starting out spending 4 days with them and, seeing that we are 7 hrs. from Disney and we have a day left on a hopper pass, we decided to hit Disney for a 2 night stay, got the HoJo special at Maingate West for $35.99 per night, using up the one day probably at MK and maybe hop over to MGM. On our way home, we are stopping for 2 days in North Caroline at friends we have there and then home to Syracuse. I guess me being out of work and Ralph getting the time off the kids have is an opportunity to do this. We have never driven down there, so it is just a little tast of the Disney Magic to hold us over until June!!! Can't wait to see everyone in June. :pinkbounc

Thanks, Maybe the boys could email each other. It makes it easier for them to find someone on the ship to hang out with.
At 17 they're too old for Common Grounds, and to young for
the clubs.

Hi, everyone! Have missed being on here, but my hard drive at work crashed and no time at home to get on line. Can you believe how close we are getting? Just four and a half months to go! How cold is it where you are? In the forties here, and looking forward to caribbean sun!!!
Hey, Roberta, if you see the excursion list before we do, can you let us know? I will do the same!
Have a great day, everyone!

Love, Cam

p.s. TJMaxx has all sorts of great summer wear, including bathing suits, beach totes, and very cute tommy hilfiger sunglasses for $14.99. Treat yourself and use the cruise as an excuse!!!:D

Hey Cam and everyone on 6/22 cruise. Getting ready to head to Caroline & Mike's when the kids get home on Wednesday. Anyway, going south so we can warm up for the mid-winter recess that the kids have off. It was a hight of like 20 degrees here today, down into the single digits on the thermometer. We should see the excursions on the web by the end of February. I keep checking Disney's official site on the web. Anyway, I will be away from the computer for about 10 days. So talk to everyone soon...Roberta

My son is 13 and has 2 friends 16& 17 going. They are very friendly, but I found that the clubs do not do a lot to include you if you are alone--my son was last time. Since there are 2 of them they should be ok til they make separate friends. Maybe we can all meet up .

Hi, everyone--pretty excited to see that we are 94 days out! Can you believe it?
Glad to see that someone new has joined our 6/22 roster--welcome aboard Joanne!!! Can't find your post where you were asking about being on the bottom deck, but wanted to reassure you. We were on deck 2, very far aft, last year and it was no problem at all. A friend who has cruised more than 30 times suggested a lower deck in case we were prone to seasickness, though she would have recommended being a bit more toward midship. However, we never had any problems at all. And we found it was so easy to take the stairs to shows and dinner, even in gowns and tuxedos! (The stairways are wide open, carpeted, and have interesting art work at a lot of places) If we were going right up to deck 9, we usually used the elevators, though. We had an outside cabin with a huge porthole, category 9, and it was absolutely wonderful. This time we are on deck 6, with a verandah and we are very excited about "moving up", but would have taken a crawl space, just to be on this beautiful ship again so soon.
Have a great day, everyone!
