Was wondering if there is someone on this board who could describe the room layout of a typical room at DGC? We are 2 adults and 2 children staying in a Downtown Disney view room the first week of June. Thanks. :)

Hi Kami!

A typical Grand Californian room has two queen beds (or a queen and bunk beds, upon request -- limited availability), a double sink vanity area, and commode and tub/shower in the bathroom. There is a small table with two chairs and the typical TV area with a mini-bar (be careful not to even MOVE anything, it is the kind of mini-bar that charges you automatically once things are moved). You'll also find an iron and ironing board and safe in the closet, and the room has a hairdryer. Rooms are approximately 353 square feet.

Hope that helps a little! :)

Some of the rooms at DGC can be pretty far out so if you don't want to walk alot be sure to request a room in the main reservation/lobby area. Also the rooms are rather dark. They are beautiful but alot of wood. The shower/bath has a Bambi shower curtain the rest of the rooms are decorated with a forest theme. They have alot of Bambi and Snow White pictures hanging up. Have a Disney Day!!! :earsgirl:  :earsgirl:  :earsgirl:

<font color=navy>We stayed at the GC in the earlier part of December. We had a room overlooking Downtown Disney (right above World of Disney). Here's a few shots:

Here's the room we were in:

The kids & I really liked the Bambi and forest theme, and we also enjoyed sitting out on the balcony & listening to the Christmas music floating up from below.
