Garden Grill family platter vs kids meal on DDP

We want to eat at the Garden Grill using the DDP for three adults and two young children. My preschoolers won't be interested in the kid's meals but would love the bread, veggies, and rotisserie turkey from the family platter.

My question is, can kids eat from the family platter at the Garden Grill or must they choose a kids meal when using the dining plan?

Our kids ate some of the kid food and some of the adult food without any issues. We adults even nibbled on the kid food. Since it is family style, you just inform your waiter of what you want more of and they bring it.
