Thanks

Hey, Erica, I just called WDW Travel Company and ordered mine. You do have to pay shipping, but they give you a confirmation number so they can reissue them if they never arrive. (Last year I did "will call" for free pick up but my CM said they won't hold them this far out.) :sad2:

Hey, I'm interested in dining at the Liberty Tree Tavern at 4:00/4:30 on Oct 26th -- Does anyone have room for me at their table? Vic, are you still collecting names?
It looks like between school and expenses, the kids have to stay home and it's going to be a solo trip for me this year. I love LTT but don't particularly want to dine alone there.
Anywhere you can fit me in?

Add me and DH to the list for this race.
Nancy (padisney) 13K walking
Norm 13K walking
We will not be walking together as I walk so much faster than him. I am walking with Jeanne and her DH will walk with mine.
We are already down there on vacation so just extending our trip. Need to decide which hotel to stay at as don't want to use DVC weekend points.

Hi guys :goodvibes
Ok, so I was wondering if Disney is going to have this race next year or not.... I will barely get enough time off to run the race and fly back home if I do.. and just feel like it wouldn't be a fun, relaxing vacation.. so hoping next year they run it and I can stay for a week.
Thanks so much
(Oh yeah, ran the inagural DL half, so this would be COOL.. and who can pass up a glow in the dark race shirt???) :thumbsup2

I will be staying at ASMo.
I figured out the new pacing requirement. It is 18.5 minute mile for the 13K and 37.5 minute mile for the 6.5K
Anyone heard any news on the DVC discount for the race??
I haven't signed up yet because I have been waiting but maybe we will just forgo it.

Wendy: Glad your joining us at LTT:)
Cobbler: I have sent several emails back to the Disney person who is doing the DVC app. He did a read receipt yesterday so I know he wants to get it done. Disney still doesn't have a paper app on their site. I would expect it soon now that they have fixed the pace requirement. Only us Disneyits really know about it. $10 is $10! So I will wait.

I'm not sure if anyone posted this info yet, but I spoke to one of the ToT race planners at the Minnie expo and asked him what the medal would be like. He said he's not finished designing it yet, but it will look like ToT and will have an elevator that moves up and down. Pretty cool! The logo on the shirt will be glow in the dark (I guess that means the whole shirt won't glow?). He also said that technically the after-party is open to the public, but they are not promoting it to the public so that it will be more intimate for the runners and their friends/family. This race is going to be awesome!!

Okay, weird question.
We were thinking about doing a vow renewal at WDW for our 10th, but then this race came up and we've shifted gears. Kaley suggested we do our vow renewal during the race (kinda like the wedding during the half this year). The race isn't on our anniversary, but close. I'm thinking before the race might be cool...in the shadows of ToT.
What do y'all think?

That is a wonderful idea and so WISH, which is about love and family and leading a good heathy moral life.
Would you be opposed to other WISH couples joining you and renewing their vows along with you or would that take away from it.
Erica and I have never done that in our 22 years of marriage so it would be so special to do that in the company of friends.

They do have a prototype medal now they are showing the staff that has the TOT with a moving elevator on it. The only thing left to do is to figure out where and what words to put on it. It is still possible they will have 2 separate medals since they are still debating on it. The staff member said they will probably combine them but haven't decided yet.

Did I even start reading this thread! AFter the Minnie Scott was ready to book tickets to come back for RFTT--but he decided that would not be such a hot idea the weekend after a marathon. Now, I see that this race fits in so well with Mickey training--AND I don't have to work that weekend--AND airfare to TPA is under $160--AND DS will still be under 2 (free flier)--AND it's MNSSHP (allowing us to visit MK w/o using a day from our tickets)--AND DSIL has offerred to drive over from Ft. Myers to help out iwth the kiddos--- AAAAAHHHHH!!!!! someone stop me before my head explodes!!!!!

It seems like there would be able to find one in the Orlando area and have the ceremony "unofficially". There is a nice green garden area behind the BWV near the canal. It is outside the stairway door near the 1001 room number. We went down it daily from our 4001 room number. Just a thought?

When my DS and his wife got married one of their friends became a minister via the Internet so that he could perform the ceremony. He did a wonderful job and it was a beautiful ceremony. For a vow renewal would you even need an official minister? Perhaps you could design your own ceremony, totally unofficial......just a thought!

For the intimate vow renewals, it only costs $2950.
Here is the link
http://www.disneyweddings.go.com/site/vow/int/start/index.jsp
It is for the escape collection. The others are more, but if you are having about 18 guests or less (including you and your spouse) then this would be a good way to go.

Here is some news from Disney explaining why there is a $25 difference between the 6.5K & 13K races while only $10 between the 1/2 & full.
"The 6.5K is half the distance and it is not chip timed which is the reason for the price difference. The 13K will have more entertainment elements on the course as well."
I wonder what these "entertainment elements" will be?? Any guesses?? The Legend of Boggy Creek?? Just move him out of that mountain in AK:)

Diane - Thank you. Now THAT is a true friend. I'll buy you one of those Long Island Iced Teas too. Got any money for bail?
With the reputation that Judy got from the half marathon, she may have some of the paramedics following her and keep her from being thrown anywhere. Something like her own Secret Service.
Bill - Ya know, I am not opposed to handsome young men in uniform following me anywhere! :thumbsup2
P.S. PLEEEASE Tag Fairy STAY AWAY from this post!!!

Unfortunately, I am unable to commit to this WISH "event" at present, though I would love to as it is sounding better and better (oh and the actual race sounds like it would be OK too). I think I would also enjoy meeting all (or at least some) of you before marathon weekend. But ... as far as strategy is concerned, wouldn't it make sense to have some bait for the boogy thing. I have no actual tactical experience-either for running/walking distance events or military (other than studying some in my college history classes)-but a good plan sounds like it is needed. As Dave's strategic plans seem to be getting shot down, maybe thndrmatt could provide some tactical advice for the race. If I do make it, I'll volunteer to be bait, as it may give me additional incentive to make a good time in my first event and if I get caught, there is enough of me (and will probably still be in October) to keep the boogy thing occupied for a while (no- I'm not being negative on myself--just presenting the reality). Some of us attorneys are willing to "take one" for the Team.

Well since a Justice of the Peace is usually an attorney, you could do your bit for the team by preforming the ceremony when some of us renew our vows at DisneyWorld.
It's to bad you won't make it to the ToT, since I have to drink Long Island Ice Teas with HonneiBee and the others we just might need the services of a lawyer.
The last time I drank those delightful things I got in a fight with the 474 munitions squadron, yep all of them.:scared1: Seemed like a good idea a the time. That was 30 years ago by the way. I don't pick fights with other military units any more.
The last time we had way to much to drink was at DisneyWorld Pleasure Island, the 8 Track. We danced and drank till 3 am, after the Marathon. Senior citizens should really not act this way.:cool1:

Okay, what are you guys UP to? Picking on poor Judy? You all leave her alone -- right NOW!!! Or I will be needing the bail fund!
Don't worry, Judy-- Diane and Kristi and I will protect you  :grouphug: -- from the boogey monster :scared1: AND rambunctious WISHers.

You know, we were just thinking about this..... I will be in the middle of training for the Half, so how can I taper for ToT? :confused3 Do we just consider the ToT13k a L/R? Hmmmm.....
Already I am worried about training that won't happen until the fall. Is it any wonder I don't get any work done during the day! :rotfl:
I keep trying to pull up the ToT website and keep getting a blank page. Anyone else having trouble pulling up the Wide World of Sports webpage?

Do you think Disney will have The Village People participate in the ToT "entertainment". That would definitely be one foot in, and one foot out of, the Twilight Zone. Almost as scary as Dave's Boogy thing.

Rowdiness? Who, where?
Vic see what you started. Now Cam is ready to kick somebody's butt. Don't worry I won't tell her it's all your fault. We tried to tell you but Noooooo, did you listen, Noooooo. It's all fun and games till somebody gets a weggie!
(Cam dear, we would never think of throwing sweet HonneiBee to the Boogy. And we promise to make Vic behave).

Disney has told me(via email) that there will NOT be any difference in the medals for the 2 races.
Haven't heard anything about the other points

I don't think even the Village People are ready for the WISH invasion. We are going to all have a reputation for rowdy by the time that week is over. The poor DisneyWorld may never recover from all of us getting togeher like that.
I'm new at WISH get togethers, has there been other gatherings this big? It looks like we could end up with about 50 neon yellow clad WISHers.
I can only imagine the choas that you, Cam, Judy, Jen, Diane and the rest could cause.

did anyone else see the new link on the wide world of sports website to buy a commemorative pin for the race!!! The only way you can buy this pin is online before the event.
Just an FYI for all those pin collectors out there.

We are building this event as a new signature event in our Endurance Series. We hope it is here to stay as an annual event. Tell all your friends to come out and run this one for me.
