I didn't see there being a Post about Partying in January, so I decided I would start the Official January 2008 Party Thread!

I'll be there from the 22nd - 28th of January - Either staying at the Shades Of Green (As Usual) or at The Grand Floridian.

My Dad will be Overseas with the Military, so this will be a Mother/Daughter Only Trip to Celebrate my 21st Birthday in "The World!"

My Dad said he was planning something Special for Me, since he won't be with me on my 21st Birthday, and since he's missed my Freshman Year of High School (In 2001), and my Senior Year of High School (2005), and my Last Year of Dance when I got my 15 Year Trophy (Also 2005) due to being overseas with the Airforce.

EDIT : So, My Dates have Officially Changed. I will be Arriving on the 23rd, and Departing on the 30th. My Hotel Plans are already confirmed, and booked as well. I'll be staying at the Shades Of Green :) Although it's no Grand Floridian (Alas, a Girl can Dream ...), I'm happy with Shades. I've always loved being there, I've gone there so much, that now, it just feels like 'Home!'

Hey NikkiKahne, We'll be a Le Cellier on Jan 25 at 6:10. We had to book two tables of 4 because they only had a table for 8 at 4:00 or 7:50. With two 5 year olds, that would be ugly!!! We're hoping they might have the two tables close to each other or next to each other. Last night I booked our 10 night stay at OKW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was the last part of our trip that still needed to be booked.:cool1: We decided on the dining plan even with the changes. Last time we stayed there was when I was VERY young, maybe 7 y/o and we were in a tent. Actually for this trip we decided to suck it up, save more money, and made new ressies to stay at Port Orleans Riverside. Don't get me wrong, totally LOVE camping and have fond memories of FW, but for 7N/8D thought we might be more comfortable in a room vs a tent. We have plans to buy a pop up/small trailer, we'll use that at FW!

I am so excited today, I just booked the Keys to the Kingdom for Sunday the 27th!! I am so exicted, hubby and I have never done anything like it and I am doing this special for him. Honestly, Hubby think I am crazy booking everything this far ahead, but I have all of our ADR's done and a basic park plan made up.

I am not too sure where we will be staying yet. I am thinking probably one of the moderates... though not completely sure on that. We usually stay at the value resorts but since this will be our last trip (:sad1: ) for about 3 yrs I want it to be very special. The Hotel is usually one of the last things to get booked for us. It will be done within a couple weeks though and then the trip will be completely set!

Dinners at Liberty Tree, 1900 Park Fare, Coral Reef, Raglan Road, Le Cellier, Mama Melroses, 'Ohana, and Boma our last night. Breakfast at Chef Mickey's. The flights are booked. The ADRs are made. And as of today, we're PAID IN FULL. All that's left is to wait... and wait... and wait... We are staying BCV in a 2 bedroom Jan 13-19. It's DH and myself plus my best friend and her DH. It will be our first vacation for the 4 of us together and their first trip to WDW. By the time we leave it will have been 22 months since my last trip--couldn't go any sooner because I've been going through chemotherapy. I can't remember ever being this excited to go.

We wanted to go a week earlier but yesterday I found out that POR is completely booked on the 20th so we pushed the date a little. We are hoping to book our room tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed that there will still be rooms!

The abbreviations are D is for dearest usually, H husband, S son, D daugher, etc. DS dearest son...I personally just type son:confused3 As for the other letters, I think people just use the first letter of the words but how we are always supposed to know what they are talking about, I don't know:confused: As for the resorts, you pretty much have to know the names in the first place to figure those out. CS coronado springs, ASMo all star movies, GF grand floridian...etc.

And yes, WDW is so different and fun. We lived in Riverside when I was little for 4 years so we went all the time. We went back again in 2000 and I loved it. It has a completely different magical feel, but not better or worse. Just different. WDW is like a big Disney city. You will love it:wizard:

So I booked our hotel and park tickets today! I called the first time and the lady on the phone was hard to understand/hear and she wasn't very helpful so I told her I wanted to call back later instead. I called 10 minutes later and got a REALLY helpful and nice woman. It was so much easier to book with her and I knew I was getting everything I wanted.

We're booked at POR January 24th - 30th. We requested to be in one of four specific building in alligator bayou so hopefully we'll be able to get one.

We are not using the dining package. I'm sure we could save money with it but it's not really worth it for us at this point. Maybe if we were more familiar with the parks. Not this time.

I checked which rides will be closed while we're there. I just hope they don't add more. If Expedition Everest ends up being closed I will be soooo unhappy. I'm already a little upset that we won't be able to go in Spaceship Earth. Oh well.

We've never been to POR before (in fact, we've not been to WDW for over 15 yrs). We've heard mixed reviews on where to stay (bayou vs mansion), but frankly we dont care....as long as we have a great time. We're also a bit stressed over a few last minute travel details (lost luggage..transportation....groceries...cab fares...blah blah blah). But it's a great stress to have!

We went ahead and added the night of January 1 at All Star Sports since it looke like it's going to be busy. I have two sets of my documents, one before the DDP and one after it was added so I think we're in good shape! OMG, I need to start thinking clothes. An artic type front is coming through here now with terrible wind. We had temps into the low 80s last week, now it's 43 with a chill factor of 35, the chill factor is supposed to hit a whopping 43 degrees here today!

My Disney cohorts planned a quick trip during the long weekend in January. DD(8 today!) and I have decided to join them, so I just bit the bullet and bought the airline tickets. We will be at WL from the 18th - 21st! DH is not too happy with us - but hopefully there will be enough snow in Vermont to keep him entertained for a few days! I am crazy excited. I haven't been to the POP! resort before, so that should be fun. And being able to imbibe at Epcot will be wicked awesome.
