What is your favorite hotel near Universal?

Trying to decide---which hotel near Universal to try.....2 adults, no kids.

Ideas?

I would say the Portifino Bay onsite. It is pricey -- rooms start at around $160-$200/night.

If you search or look on the Universal trip reports you'll see my post on this place from last November.

NOT walking distance to Universal, but a convenient bus system, fairly new (2000) high-rise hotel. Great breakfast, small pool. While we were there a HS band was there, and we never heard a thing!

I got $42 per night through hotelkingdom.com.

Wyndham on I-Drive for $16/nt. thru Priceline. The hotel was so wonderful that we actually took a day away from visting theme parks to just hang out.
