Hi,
We will be going to CA. in Oct. 2001, over Columbus day weekend for a reunion. I think we will do one of the parks over the weekend. I am sure it will be crowded. We want to stay a couple of extra days after the Columbus day weekend, so how many days will we need to see both parks? We will have our 2 kids, who are 4, with us. Thanks for any opinions. This will be our first trip to Disneyland and DCA.

Actually, Columbus Day is not a big deal in California, unlike other parts of the country. Very few people get a day off for that holiday here. It should be pretty uncrowded in the parks at that time.
It takes about 2 days to cover Disneyland in depth, particularly with small children in tow. DCA can easily be covered in one day -- not much for 4-year-olds to do there, anyway. So I think you'll find that three days total will be plenty.

I agree, I think 2 days is enough for DL, and one day for DCA. If you have extra time, you could add one more day to that to hop back and forth and visit your favorite things one more time, but just three days is definitely enough time to see almost everything.

Hi Mary and Carrie,
Thanks for the information. We were going to make a week of it but that now seems too long. I guess we will see some of the other attractions nearby too. I know the kids would love Seaworld, maybe Knotts Berry Farm too.
Thanks again,
Susan
We are also traveling to Southern California next fall. We have decided to stay for eight days. The first two will be spent sightseeing with my good friend, who lives in the LA area. Then we will spend three nights and three days at Disneyland, followed by three nights and two days at San Diego. We plan to check out Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, plus see a few sights.
I am very excited!
