I just got instant approval for a Disney Visa, was given a bank number and temporary credit limit and told I could book a disney package online immediately. Does anyone know if I can use this temporary number to book a package over the phone if free dining is offered to disney visa holders and I have not yet received my card?

I find that hard to believe, they generally need the card to both arrive at the address you gave and be activated!
As a matter of fact, you now need the 4 digit security number, (on the card)so it should be impossible.

I'm going to have to agree. You need to actually activate the card first.
I guess this is a question best asked to whoever you were approved with.

otherwise anyone getting a hold of anyones number, say from a piece of discarded mail, could book. Check with your bank but if the bank is that careless I'll be canceling..

I read somewhere (??) on one of the many threads about free dining that you need to be a Visa card-holder for a certain length of time. If I remember right the poster said you had to have charged at least one thing on the card, and received the monthly statement once for the card.
Which makes sense...otherwise people left and right could quick sign up for a card when free dining is released, and get the discount...and then cancel the card right away and/or never use it again.
