Hey, I'm going to WDW on April 6th!!! I just found out last week. The bad part is that I've pretty much been a MASSIVE couch potato for a year due to some health issues (anemia) that I believe are resolving.

I was going to start exercising last month, but I came down with a horrendous cold. Finally, last week, when the cold went away AND I planned a trip to WDW, I decided that I better get moving if I wanted to make it through the parks.

Now, I know that it is SILLY for me to even think, at age 43, that I'm going to be fully ready for combat within 2 weeks or less, but I figure that it can't hurt.

So, on Monday night, I got back on my treadmill. I have been on the treadmill for 3 nights in a row starting at 20 mintues (and did 30 minutes last night). I am just walking between 3-4 mph.

Additionally, I am doing some minor strength training (focusing on the legs and butt) just to get some strength started.

I don't want to overdo it but I do want to maximize my results over the next week.

Do you think I can do it? Am I doing the right things? Is there more I can be doing. I already feel TIRED today (after 3 days of treadmilling) but at the same time I feel physically, kind of energized in a strange way.

So is there any help for me?

HI! I think you are doing good. I would be more worried at this point about over doing it before your trip and then being extra tired and sore while there. So try to be moderate now. And then also at the parks too. Walk and keep a pace where you aren't killing yourself. But be aware that you probably will be tired and even a little sore while you are there.

I would also try to focus on doing some stretching. Now and when you are there. Stretching out your calfs and hamstring can really help your legs to feel less tired the next day.

Sometimes I think it's impossible to be fully prepared for a Disney trip in terms of how much walking you do. For my last trip, I had been working out on an elliptical for 4 days a week for 30+ minutes for months. But i was still tired and sore by the end of the second day. Then it lessened up after that. Lots of legs stretches. And a little rub from the DH!!! :)

Hope you have lots of fun on your trip!!!
