you may want to check out Lou Mongello's podcast for this week - #7 (sorry - I had originally posted episode 6, but it is 7). It can be found at wdwradio.com . I believe it is in the "rumors" portion of the podcast. His source is saying "yes it will be offered" and you can start booking on 4/12. :thumbsup2

OK - I went back and listened. He mentions it at 14minutes 38 seconds into the show. His source is saying you can book the trip 4/12 - 6/24 for travel from 8/26-9/22/07. But check out the podcast for yourself!

my TA from TMFL told me today that a new code will be out on the 12th, so to hold tight.

Well I am not happy. I was hoping the dates would be the same as last year. I will be in Orlando Aug 17 - 21, same as last year and was hoping to get the free dining again. Oh well, I guess it will be US/IOA this year.

Not the news I wanted to hear either. We plan on going from Aug. 13 to Aug. 22. We were really hoping for the free meal deal. I guess Disney's Million Dreams year fell one dream short!:confused3

Does anyone know if the 4/12 date is for the general public to book or for Disney Visa card holders?

If it is for general public then when might Visa card holders be able to book?

If I remember correctly, last year the Visa card holders received the go ahead about 3 or 4 days before.:hourglass

I heard the VCH can start booking 4/7. That's what I read on another board.

   Sounds promising. I talked Dh into going in Sept as long as it is free dining, if not I'll have to wait until Jan:scared: .
Now the wait is driving me crazy. I hope they officially announce it soon.

Does anyone remember the dates they offered for the free dining promo last December for those staying on site? They were offering it for specific dates if you booked it during your stay last December.

I thought the dates they offered the promo in December were longer than the dates of the rumored promo on April 12th.

We are a disney visa card holder, how do you know when we can sign up for free dining if it is offered? Do you just check the visa card website or do they send out an email?

Disney Visa was offering 0.00% on balance tranfers so i did it, a couple of years ago i had the disney visa and yes you can pull up your account and there is a place that shows all Disney offers.....

also IF the dining plan is avial. for 4-12 normally a disney visa card holder has 3 to 5 days before everyone else, so just keep checking your visa account..

If the Dining is offered to Visa card holders first do you have to use the card or just have one? I have already booked through AAA but could I call them with the code from the card site to use? I did not have the card when I booked the trip so I put a deposit on it with another card.

From my understanding you have to put the deposit down on the Disney Visa card, but someone here will correct me if i gave the incorrect inforamtion..

So does that mean you can only use the code if you use the card to book the trip?

LakeAriel

No, it means you can only get the couple of days advance booking if you use the card. It would be like the AP/AAA discounts, everyone would try to use their promotions without ever having the card..Imagine that scenario? ;)

Just so you know, the last two years AAA had their own code - people posted it on these boards and I called my agent with it (because she was clueless) -- AND note that I was able to book Coronado Springs thru my AAA when none were available thru the CRO. ---- The CRO had a special deal with AirTran that I couldnt get on my own or thru AAA - and two weeks later they had Coronado Springs opening up for my date, so I then booked with the air special and canceled my AAA trip. Being persistant paid off for me and my family and some of our friends :)

Expedia also had the specials and availabilty was different too.

Sorry I am having such a hard time here but this is my first trip and I am sooo confused....I have already booked my trip through AAA but did not have the card at the time I booked and put my deposit down 5 months ago. Now have the card and if the code comes out for free dining to card members I can not call and use the code even though I have the card and I can/will pay for the rest of the trip with the card. Am I understanding that right?

They have already listed a September Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining on the Disney TA site according to another site and a copy of the page was included. I also was able to get a peak at it too. The default check in date is 8/26/07.

You can't book anything as of now but they are getting ready to launch the special. You can try any dates but it says that they are outside of the range of the package.

having this show up so early on the TA site would be really early for a start date for bookings on 4/12 or for even 04/07. This would be way in advance if it started on 04/07 so I bet it will be sooner.

This won't help me and I am still keeping my fingers crossed for some type of discount for a little earlier in August, specifically starting on the 15th.

I found this on another site:

Hello, good news, we just booked our trip to DW from 9-14-07 to 9-22-07 because the FREE DDP will be offered at that time. We received a AAA newsletter in the mail today and it advertises the Stay, play and Dine promotion from Aug. 5 to Oct. 3 2007. Our DW reservationist told us that if we booked today we would be eligible for the FREE dining promo, we just have to call back and have it added because it is not in their system yet. He told us it will be comming up in a few days to a week. We booked the Pop Century/ 9 days/ 8 nights/ Standard room/ All tickets with park hopper option and water park and more option for 2 adults and 2 children( age 9 and 12) and FREE DDP and free magical express for $1955.80. WOW what a deal!

That would be great but after seeing the package listed on the TA site with the default date of 08/26 I think I will be disappointed. Hope to get some type of room discount for August 15th.

Since I'm new to this forum, can someone tell me exactly what a "Free Dining Promotion" is?

And is the only time you can get it is by booking months and months in advance?

We are going to WDW April 16th - 25th...guess nothing is going on during that time...i.e. free dining.

Is it April 1st already?

Seriously, I don't think free dining will start THAT early. August 26th as has been rumored and as is hinted at several times in this thread.. seems like a far more likely candidate.

Of course, here's one time I'd dearly love to be proven wrong..

I am sure a heavy wave of August cancellations are forthcoming. On the plus side...US/IOA might see a big upswing in room reservations!

That is just an add running in AAA that lists pricing to "Stay, Play and Dine" for $737 per adult. The dates are for 8/5 - 10/3 and then again for 11/25 - 12/19. The $737 is rack rate with regular priced 7 day base ticket and regular priced dining plan. It is NOT free dining, just full price value season pricing.

Now that the September offer is on the TA page and because of the dates that are being defaulted, 8/26 - 9/22 are probably going to be the dates for free dining. Now the wait begins for some of us and the party is over for others, me included in the last group.
