My family of 5 are planning for our end of August vacation (8/25-8/31), staying at WL, and getting the Dining Plan, whether it is free or not. Do you think I should just book it now or wait until the 'official' word comes out about the free dining...(if it does.) :confused3 I kind of want to set things in place.

Thanks!

I would go ahead and book now. I am under the impression that you can call back if the free dining code comes out and add it to your reservation. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure this is the case. :goodvibes

That way you'll have your reservation (as long as you were planning on going even if the free dining code doesnt come out).

Good luck! :)

I would also book now so you can get all your ADRs in place as well.

I read on one of the sites that there was a rumor free dining may be returning for travel dates 8/26 through 9/22, if booked 4/12 through 6/24. I just subscribed to that site so I'm not sure how good the rumors are.

The past two years, people were able to switch from previously reserved rooms to Free DDP packages at the higher room rate. That is no guarantee, of course, that the same rules will apply this year. We won't really know until the actual announcement is made.

Personally, since everyone is expecting an announcement in a few days, I'd wait to protect myself from the possibility that they won't allow switches.

We know the UK and Bounce Back promotions were very successful, and the speculation is that IF free DDP is offered, it will be for fewer rooms for a shorter period of time...so it's possible they might say no switches. They are, after all, looking for additional business...not changes in existing business.

If you know your exact dates, I'd go ahead and make your ADRs if you are ready to do that. ADRs have nothing to do with where you are staying or how you're paying for the meals.

I booked my ADRs today w/o a hotel ressie.

All of your dates fall within the 180 day range, so if you intend on keeping your ADRs whether or not the ddp is free, go ahead and make yourself feel better while waiting and make your ADRs.

It really helped me! :goodvibes
