I'm afraid to bring my digital camera with us. What do you do ? I was thinking about buying some of those disposable digital ones, has anyone done this?

I always bring the digital with us. Never had a problem. The only time I went in without a camera (5 years ago) my sister and DD(21 then) and I waited in line to get a picture with Pooh and when we got to the front of the line I asked my sister for the camera and she said "I thought you had yours with you." Needless to say we got a good laugh (still do) but no picture.

We have always taken our current camera with us, with no ill effects! Put it in a good case and carry it with you at all times.

I carry both of mine, I made sure to purchase a camera bag that is water proof and had a couple of extra pockets for our tickets, money etc. I wear it instead of my purse. (And the extra battories, dont want to pay park prices on those if I can avoid it!)

Forgot to mention that I did had to buy a disposable camera. My disk went bad and my spare was at the house we were renting. I was so upset. The disposibles are expensive so don't forget spare batteries and an extra storage card...just incase...

Hard to figure that you buy a camera to take pictures and then are afraid to take it with you. We always take ours, 2, wife and I. Long ago I used to take my slr 35mm camera, expensive, but that why I bought it, and took many wonderful pictures of the kids back then. Even so, our digitals cost few hundred each and not enough can be said about a good, small camera bag and strap, always around the neck and never left on a bench. Be responsible with your goods and enjoy the good pictures that those disposables can't duplicate.

My daughter will bring her digital & I'm going to bring my Kodak advantix camera. I don't like the delay the digital has; we missed good character shots because of it. It tucks into a nice camera case or my fanny pack & I'll be sure to pack extra batteries & lots of film, something I ran out of during the AK safari.

DH plans on buying the new Olympus SW 770 (I think that's its name) before our trip.
It's a waterproof digital camera & very tough! (shockproof is what the creators call it)....you can drop it from 5 feet & supposedly it won't be harmed.
We have a different model waterproof camera which we love to take to the waterparks, but it's a few years old so we plan on getting this new one.
