I know I've seen this, but I couldn't find the thread. We are planning to camp for a week this summer at FW but don't really want to have the extra expense of getting the cable hookup site and paying the $10 for 24 hours of internet connection. I do need to be able to log in periodically to check work stuff.
Does the outpost still have only a dial up connection or is there a cable jack I can plug into, or is there wireless? I will have my laptop and a cable, if it is needed. Thanks!

If I recall correctly, it was posted that it is now a cat 5 internet connection and is 9.95 a day. I will be using it a week from Sunday. Need to do our Boy Scout Summer Camp registrations.

You can connect via Cat 5 or wirelessly at the outpost. I went down to the check-in building at the outpost every other night or so on our recent trip. It was a little strange because there are no CM's there and I ended up parking my golf cart in the check-in lanes, which were closed at that time of night. If your laptop has wireless capability it will locate the connection right away but you can only access a log in page which requires a 10 digit number from your resort ID and $10 fee for a 24hr period. Several of my trips down ended with the connection going down or some other problem and I wasn't all that happy with the service. Perhaps the cable modem at a preferred site would be better.

If you have aq dial up account that you can use, the original phone lines are still at both the reception outpost and the internet room in the reception drive through.

Ask you IT folks if they have any wireless access cards with Verizon or Sprint service.
Each division in our company has two of them to be shared by employees on travel/vacation, etc.
It sure is nice to be able to keep the email down to a dull roar right from my tent in Loop 1500 or 2000.

Thank you for your help everyone! It sounds like we're probably going to need to do the preferred loop, then. But, Carol, I will check out my IT dept and see if they have a wireless access card. Great idea!
