View Full Version : Is a milk-shake considered a "drink" on DDP?

We have ADR's at both WCC and Sci-Fi, which from what I understand have milkshakes on the menu. Can you order these as your "drink" on DDP (I'm guessing probably not)? If not, can you use snack credits to pay for them?
Thanks!

My son was able to get shakes at both places during our 2005 trip. I hope things are the same when we return in August.:wizard:

Sci Fi doesn't take snack credits, and I don't think WCC does either. If they don't allow you to order a shake as a beverage, maybe you could order it as dessert?

See, I was thinking that it would be considered a desert. Of course, I can never manage to eat a desert if I've had a milkshake, so this works out perfectly.

I know CS meals it's a snack credit but not sure at a TS meal.

This last November I was able to get a shake for my drink and for my dessert (both at the beginning of the meal) at Sci-Fi. I gave them to my kids who couldn't get shakes on the kids' plan. I got a soda from their drink allotment. Worked out great as I was too stuffed for dessert anyway.

At WCC, we were able (and encouraged!) to get the "Bottomless Shakes" as our beverage on the Dining Plan-for both kids and adults. 8 out of 9 of us opted to do so and I must say, they were delicious! And they were endlessly refilled without us having to ask for seconds. :thumbsup2

Generally speaking, milkshakes do not qualify as beverages for the Dining Plan, but these two restaurants are exceptions, and do allow folks to order milkshakes as their included beverages.

We were able to get them as our beverages at both places! The kids had to use them as their desserts at Sci~fi though.

If it's non-alchoholic (which shakes are!) it's always safe to ASK! The worst you can be told is 'no'.

I got some raspberry shake like drink at Le Cellier last time I was there and it was part of the DDP - counted as my drink.

All depends on who your server is and what kind of mood they are in that day, I guess!
