I was in a thread recently where plans were being made for a late May meet at the National Zoo in DC. Somehow, the thread disappeared and now I can't find it. Can anyone help?

As far as I know it's still in the planning stages. It'll be great to meet everyone! Hopefully it'll be a weekend that a lot of people can attend. I can't find the post either so hopefully the lady who thought of the idea got everyone's names so we can get a good weekend for everyone and make this meet a reality! :)

I tried the DISers meet forum and didn't find the thread there either. Maybe it was taken down for some reason??

The thread you're asking about was deleted due to some off-color language.

I recommend starting a NEW thread in the DIS Meets forum. Just post when and where you want to meet!

My only tip is that if people want to meet at the zoo on a beautiful weekend in May, make sure you get there EARLY (around 8:00 or so) to get a parking space! Otherwise you will be out of luck.

Just my 2 cents...

We'll come! We usually get to the zoo at least an hour before it opens...more parking and the animals are far more active. We're Fonz's, so we can park free, but for thos who aren't, consider the Metro.

DD's been dying to go back to the zoo, so it just may be time to renew our Fonz, too. (She wants to go during Spring Break - Yikes!) We used to go there about 15 times a year, and I was so thankful when they discovered they acutally liked the Smithsonian museums. What a relief!

But then, I haven't seen the Asia trail yet...

We are new to the area and the boards. Located in SO MD and have not checked out the zoo yet (just learned how to use the Metro). Hopefully we can make it, the popcorn sounds great LOL popcorn::

Someone early said May sometime......that would be great to go before it got too hot and humid!!

Forget the popcorn.... become a FONZ member for the free animal cookies.... they are the best cookies EVER... :yay:

BTW- do ya'll think Saturday or Sunday morning would be best?? Personally, I think Sunday morning might be a better bet ...I can go to a late service at my church... Problem- Memorial Day weekend might be tough....

I agree with staying away from Memorial Weekend:headache:

1st Weekend 5 or 6 of May
2nd Weekend 12 or 13
3rd Weekend 19 or 20

Don't forget the 13th of May is Mothers Day:laundy: , if that weekend was chosen, maybe we should do Saturday??

I won't be able to do the first weekend of May because of the Apple Blossom Festival here in Winchester. I normally try to get out of town that weekend, but my daughter has to sing for the Coronation and it's also her birthday weekend and unfortunately she wants to stay in town for the parades and rides. We should definitely stay clear of Memorial day weekend.

Oh, I found another thread of this on the Dis Meets Board, but it said for MD and DC...didn't include VA, but I included myself anyways. LOL
