If you're still looking for some help tranferring items from one avatar to another, here's what I suggest.
Open two tabs. Log on vmk as your character in one tab, the other character can be logged into the second window and you can easily trade between them. Here's the link to the logon page you'll need to use:

This is the best way to accomplish your trade, unless you can get your brother to help by using a second computer. :)
