Reservation frustrations!

Does anyone know why no campsites would come up 11/18 - 11/24 or 11/18 - 11/25 or even 11/17 - 11/23 but campsites are coming up for 11/18 - 11/26?! I'm so confused and VERY frustrated! We needed to check out on Saturday so that we could get back to Ohio in time for me to get back to class, and now we don't think we can camp and we're both CRUSHED. I don't get why it will let me book a longer campsite but won't let me check out two days earlier!

I'm so crushed, I can't even describe it!

Have you tried to call and talk to a live person. The online listings sometimes look wierd.

I have problems getting exact dates in the past, call them direct, I have had the reservation CM book my dates buy booking sooner than I wanted and then cancelling some dates to get what I needed.

That's how I got my 4th of July ressies. I put in like a 2 week stay and it gave it to me. Putting in less of a stay and it wouldn't give me the days I wanted so I booked the long ressie and then a few days later called and cancelled the days I didn't want.

If I'm not mistaken it looks like you're going to be there Thanksgiving and FW doesn't seem to like checkouts on a weekend day. Good luck though getting what you want.

Yeah, I already called and talked to a live person, nothing came up for her either. If I went ahead and booked the longer trip, could I just cancel the days and still check out on the weekend? Or do they not allow this at Fort Wilderness? I'm so confused! But if I can book and then cancel the days I don't need, I'll do that! :goodvibes

Just make sure you cancel the days u don't want 6 days ahead of time. I would book it and do your deposit then call the next day and cancel your days not wanted. Make sure though you do the deposit thingy first just in case. You should have no problem doing this. Have fun. DD and I will be there the Friday after Thanksgiving until Monday. This will be our 4th year doing that weekend.

As long as you have a "room only" reservation, you can check out early at any time. If you book a package, you will need to cancel those extra days 45 days out.

I've done that several times in order to get the dates I want. Book more than I need, then cancel the extra nights. I think it's something in their computer system to make the weekend availability work out better for them.
