I know you can order from the Kids Menu for an adult and that you are charged extra. Actually, the amount of food that DD15 would get from a kids portion would be more than she'd eat but I realize you are given bigger portions and charged more. Can anyone tell me from your experience how much extra you pay (double, triple or is it up to the waiter/waitress)? My DD15 practically lives on chicken strips and fries so she'll be ordering from the kids menu quite frequently.

I've ordered the kid's meal myself when I don't want a lot. Also, I share a lot of adult plates with my DD who is 10. It is plenty for both of us.

If you don't mind sharing its a great way to go. -

I dont' know about sit down places, but counter service places aren't any more $$.

We get kid's meals all the time at the cs areas.

I never paid extra for ordering from kids menu's. Some say 'under 12 only' or something, but no waiter ever gave us a hard time.

I am glad to hear adults can order from the kids menu. My hubby loves chicken tenders , fries etc and doesn't care for gourmet cooking so he will be very happy to hear this.

We were able to order the kids Tonga Toast at the Rainforest Cafe in AK last month. A bargain at $5.99 and more than enough food.

In January 2006, my 2 sisters and I all ordered the kid's chicken at Brown Derby. We paid the same price ($5.99) but had to pay additional for the drink. We weren't on DDP then. Our server was great about it and said we could order a single order, double it, or triple it if we wanted. We decided to stick with the regular serving. It was good for a light lunch (along with the bread). Since it was a kid's meal the chicken was pretty plain but my niece order teh coconut shrimp appetizer for her meal and she shared her citrus soy dipping sauce. It was very good.

I'm usually more adventurous with my food (not my sisters though :confused3 ) but that day I didn't feel like getting anything else from the lunch menu. We went there so my DM could have the Cobb Salad-she loves :cloud9: it!.

I never order from the adult menu at the CS places at Disneyland. I always get a kids meal. I have never had a problem.

OP, are you asking about Disney specifically or just eating out in general? I know several places that allow aduts to order off the kids menu but add $2-3 to the total. I will often get an adult meal and split it. As long as the menu doesn't say 'no sharing' there shouldn't be a problem. I have also asked for a take out box when my food has been delivered and split it as soon as it was put on the table to cut the temptation to overeat. I bring home food almost everytime we go out and if I'm being diligent in my efforts to eat sensibily, I eat less and bring home more. The youngin's or DH wind up eating a lot of my leftovers so it winds up being win-win. I don't pig out and they have something good for lunch the next day or two.

I'm hoping that we will be able to order from the Kids Menu
on our next trip because I will have my DS (12 yrs.) and his
best friend who is (13 yrs. but small for his age).
I'm not sure how picky the BF will be and I want to try
many new restaurant for the atmosphere and hope
the older kids will have something they would like to eat.

We order off the kid's menu all the time. Or sometimes we'll share something off the adult menu and get a great dessert to go with it. Never had a problem at WDW ordering from the kid's menu or sharing a meal. Outside of WDW, some restaurants charge a few extra dollars but don't usually give you a hard time.

My DD-13 and I both were allowed to order the kids ch. burger and fries at MGM"s Sci-Fi restaurant. I loved it and will go back. They kept our beverages filled which was very nice on a HOT day! We also ordered a side of OR so our total bill was around $20. Worth every penny.....I loved those old movie clips! :happytv:

I order off the kids meal all the time at Disney and other places. I had gastric bypass and I can't eat a lot. I carry my little card from the Doctor just in case but I have never been asked to show it.

Disney could not have been nicer about it the last time I was there.
