Okay. I usually communicate with my long distance friends through e-mail, but I might want to start calling some Dis friends (well, anyone who lets me have his/her number :p ). Does anyone have a good long distance plan to recommend? I don't want to call the phone companies and ask them.

I use my cell phone for all long distance. It's all inclusive in my plan.

I use my cell phone for LD...so I will call you Dayna :)

is your number in the address list you sent?

If you are a Sam's Club member, you can buy a prepaid phone card for 3.47 cents per minute! If you aren't a member, ask a friend to buy one for you.

I like PMs, e-mail and IM, but phoning is much more efficient!

I like the idea of calling each other, too. It would be nice to hear everyone's voices. :)
We use MCI, but it's incorporated with the long distance for our business so that won't help you. I've heard of a lot of people that use their cell phones for long distance. I'm looking into a plan for our youngest that is 4000 minutes (350 anytime and 3650 nights and weekends) through Sprint. It says it has free nationwide long distance. Sounds like it's too good to be true. Of course, if the night time minutes start at 11:00 pm, that won't do him any good. We're trying to get his phone bill down. He's racking up quite a bill talking to his girlfriend from college every day. BTW, it's $35.19 a month, with a 2 year service contract. Good luck! :D

I pay $39.95 on sprint and have 200 anytime minutes and 2800 night and weekend minutes.

Nites start at 9pm, and end at 7am

this is on sprint

Marsha :D Ellen would not let me use the cell phone in WDW, I bought a calling card. I only used the cell once when I arrived since I could not figure out the card yet. I have the package that allows me two local calls a month ;) I suppose there was that incident in Vegas when we were using the cell to call everyone and received a very large bill:rolleyes: It was about equal to our hotel bill :D But she was involved in that too:p Its not all my fault:rolleyes:

I didn't bother bringing my cell phone to WDW because it doesn't have free long distance outside my local calling area. However, when I'm home, I use my cell phone for late-night and weekend calls (Verizon), and my regular long distance carrier (MCI) for weekday calls between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

ECXCUSE ME?????? Chores????? Little one? Is that anything like being a gopher?? Geez the nerve of some people....lol  :) :) :)

Our cellphone(Verizon) is $89.00 a month...700 weekday minutes ....and 2000 weekend minutes each month, but that is calls anywhere in the country. And yes, I go through them each month...and get yelled at each month...lol....hense the calling cards...lol

I am looking for even a better plan......but this is pretty good....

Now I will research the home thing....lol...Ms. Mackey what would you do without me to pick on and abuse???

Smee

We have 75 minutes per month (anywhere in the continental US) for $29.95.
Other than that, we use calling cards, even at home.

I use my cell phone mostly. I have 350 minutes per month nationwide and free nights and weekends. I just changed my paln the day before we left for DisCon. (Cingular) and I will keep this plan at least until the spring when my parents return from Florida. (The snowbirds have flown south!)

Thanks, everyone. I have long distance on my cell phone, but I think I need to increase the plan. :o

{insert Newsflash music} NEWSFLASH: I like to talk. {End Newsflash music}

Patrick, you know I'm not ignoring you. I think I showed you how much I cared this week. I dragged out my digital camera and it's docking station and blew the cobwebs off and used those suckers. I don't even know if I would do that for my husband. J/K :p ;) :D

In years to come, you'll be saying to Roger, "Why? Oh, why did I ever give that Okie Nutjob my telephone number?"

I hope to see and talk to all of you in the coming year.

Sandra,. Next year I will stop at Wal-Mart on the way and buy you a calling card. I'm not sure how much it is a minute to home, but it has to be much cheaper than that. The card won't expire, and you can add money to it when you need to. :D

Thanks Dayna, sounds like a great plan!! :bounce:
For my first call I bought a $10 calling card at WDW, but I could only make a 2 minute call with that. So, I thought a credit card would be cheaper - well, now I know better.......

explanation....in single rate 900 you get 900 weekday minutes in a month, but you get 3500 weekend minutes per month. And that is anywhere in the continental US. I can call California at 2 pm and not be charged extra...cost would be $100 per month....

Now MS. Mackey, is that good enough for you? Has your little friend done her homework? Oh and by the way...your next lesson...will be learning to answer you messages...I think I have left atleast 1/2 dozen on ther...well maybe I do not want you to hear a few of them....lol...lalalalalalalala :)

 Hi Dayna. I'll be calling you back sometime after the New Year. I haven't had much time to be online lately because Ed has the week off, and of course the kids do too.....so we've been spending a lot of quality family time together. We've been seeing a lot more of my step-daughters too this week!!! :bounce: It's been great, don't get me wrong ;) , but I miss all of you guys too. :(

I just need to get passed the holidays and get Ed back to work ;) and then I can come out and play a little more often. :D

Love you guys! {{{hugs}}} to each of you. :)

Don't feel bad, Marsha. I've had this phone for over 6 months and I'm still learning how to do things. Thank goodness I have kids to show me how to use my pnone and my computer! :D

Marsha, I don't know how to retrieve voicemail messages on my cell phone either! I don't even know my phone number, and if I did - I never have the phone turned on! ;) I may have to investigate switching to a plan that has nationwide long distance from anywhere - not just my local area.

The funniest thing happened tonight....you will just have to call me Dayna for a couple of minutes....

Someone called my home tonight , and the voice was really familiar, so I just started Rambling on about DISCON and DVD's and TIVO players...blah, blah , blah...after about 10 minutes I realized it wasn't Marsha who called me it was a friend of mine I haven't heard from in over a year. Hers and Marsha's voice are very similar.

I felt like a complete ****...she didn't know what the heck I was talking about...LOL

Just thought I had to share :D:D
