In our experience you normally get sales after Easter and then normally in August for the september slump.
However always worth trying expedia.co.uk and airline network as they always seem to have some sort of offer on.

We have also not been able to book for various reasons and the last Virign Atlantic sale finished last Tuesday. But looking at the past few months I am sure another offer will be about in a couple of weeks :)

You should also try www.opodo.co.uk It's a bit like expedia but can come up with some really good options.

Have you tried a travel agents? Thomas Cook have beaten web prices for us in the past.
I`ve emailed Expedia in the past about their prices and they do say they are only allocated a certain amount of seats from an airline, at a good price - then of course the prices go up!
