Am new to the Kansas City area and am finding flights for the Mid-March 2002 time frame to be much higher than what we paid last year when traveling from Albany NY (Nov). Any historical information or advice on obtaining lowest airfares from KC (MCI) to Orlando (MCO) is greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays!

Historically they are much cheaper to Tampa. I've seen them as low as $74 RT to Tampa from MCI.

We booked last May from KC to Orlando through Delta online and got the tickets for $220 a ticket. We had a 3 hour drive to KC from our hometown, but it was still cheaper than anything we could get out of here (Wichita.) At that time, to fly out of Wichita, it was over $300 a ticket. Good luck!

We booked July 31st 01 for our trip we took December 13th 01. We got $144 RT from KC to MCO and that included all the taxes and fees. We don't like to fly but the $144 was such a great deal that we took it. It sure beat the 22 hour drive with 8 people we would have had from Des Moines. It took us 2 1/2 hours to drive to KC. Our flights were great. We went with Delta.

I got $110 RT last August into Orlando for Jan trip using the internet fare on Southwest. Had to change some dates, so had to change over to arrive in Tampa for $103. RT as Orlando had gone up to $198 RT. I think its still showing as a $45. each way into Tampa (internet fare) as of a few days ago.

10-2000 - $131 RT kc to orlando
12-2002 - $ 71 RT kc to tampa

These fares include fees and taxes.

I am looking to go again in may and fares seem a bit high to me as well.

Happy hunting!
