on the first leg of my vacation (24 days and counting) I have reservations at Holiday Inn KSC. They say they are across the river from the launch sites....Does anybody know if this is true? Im sorry if im breaking any rules...but I have seen some posts about the launches...And you guys have helped me out with hotel info...thought i would try ;)

I have never stayed there. But you can ask that question here. I would also try the cruise line board. Before we went on our cruise we stayed at the Raddisson. I know many people get a room by port Canaveral the night before their cruise.

We stayed at Holiday Inn KSC last September to see a launch and, yes, they are just across the Indian River from the launch sites. It was a nice 2-story hotel with a nice pool area and a breakfast buffet that was good. On launch days the prices were way up when I called to make a reservation over the phone. I made a reservation over the internet and got it for about $99 per night with 4 free buffet breakfasts. If you are going to see a launch try to get a 2nd floor room facing the river. If not, you can go out to the fence, but you must stake out a position EARLY! A lot of people show up at that fence. Also, take binoculars.
