We are thinking of going during this best time. I was hoping some of you could tell me what best possible rate I could hope for around this date?

Thanks
:)

Unfortunately, checking in around the 30th will still be in "Holiday" rate season (probably for check ins around 12/20-12/31) which are very expensive $$$$. :guilty:

Last year there were no discounts offered after 12/23/06 check ins:

check ins between 10/1/06-12/23/06 package discounts for Disney Rewards Visa cardholders became available on 8/14/06, exp 9/30/06
check ins between 10/1/06-12/23/06 Annual Passholder room-only rates became available on 8/16/06, exp 12/23/06
check ins between 10/1/06-12/23/06 Florida resident room-only rates became available on 8/16/06, exp 12/23/06
check ins between 10/1/06-12/23/06 package discounts for general public became available on 8/17/06, exp 9/30/06
check ins between 10/30/06-12/23/06 "available to anyone" room-only code became available on 9/28/06, exp 10/29/06
check ins between 11/1/06-12/23/06 package discounts for general public became available on 10/2/06, exp 10/31/06

For example, last year if you checked in by 12/23/06, you could get the "deal" rate for your whole stay - but if you checked in on 12/24 you were out of luck, and paid the holiday rate until the next round of discounts became available on 1/1/07:

check ins between 1/1/07-2/14/07 Annual Passholder room-only rates became available on 11/1/06, exp 2/14/07
check ins between 1/1/07-2/14/07 Florida resident room-only rates became available on 11/2/06, exp 2/14/07
check ins between 1/1/07-3/8/07 package discounts for Canadian residents became available on 10/16/06, exp 12/16/06
check ins between 1/1/07-3/8/07 package discounts for Disney Rewards Visa cardholders became available on 10/31/06, exp 12/16/06
1/1/07-3/8/07 package discounts for general public 11/2/06, exp 12/16/06

Just for an example, say you wanted to stay 12/30 to 1/3/08. If you didn't split the reservation you would pay the holiday rate from 12/30 clear through to 1/3/08. To get around this, you would have to book 12/30 & 12/31 at the holiday rate, but you could then have a separate reservation for 1/1 - 1/3 at a "deal" price (if there are any offered this year). (By splitting the res though, there is a chance that you might have to switch rooms)

Hopefully someone will answer about AAA as I'm not sure what their policy is during the holiday season.

that was the 1st day of value season and a special deal came out free water parks + park hopper with base ticket purchase plus I got the AAA discount on the room only portion...so if you could tweek it to the value season, you'd be better off. There's a phone number of a very good AAA agent floating around the board so if you book with her to get the AAA room discount she'd be able to help if a package came out.

Good luck.
