Disclaimer: Iam not trying to cheat or use child credits for adult meals...I know that child/adult credits are seperate now.:)

We have the cali grill booked for late August...My dh really wants to go here..its his only restaurant request. My kids are 14 and 7...My 7 year old may eat the childs menu but my 14 year old will eat nothing on this menu.

Obviously I do not want to waste 2 credits on a meal at which he will not touch....so my question is can i pay OOP for the kids and use DP for me and Dh.
I would probably purchase a plain icecream for DS and a childs meal for DD. Plus any alcholic drinks could go on this seperate bill.

So...is this allowed?

We were just there with DS (2 yr). We just told the cm's that we wanted to pay for his with cash and no one had a problem.

We were there with DD10 last month. We paid for the dining plan for her as an adult. She only wanted pizza at Cali, and we were able to pay for it OOP.

Absolutely -- we've done it.

With the separation of credits between adult and child, that should no longer even be a concern on Disney's part. You shouldn't have any problem.
