How soon is too soon to begin packing for WDW? :confused3

We will be leaving May 18.

I have a huge checklist and was just wondering how soon others begin packing for their trip.

Heh. I know what you are saying. We leave on May 15th and it's taking everything in me to not start packing now. I've been passing time with collecting items I'll need for the trip instead (clothing, shoes, etc.).

I'll probably start the official 'packing' about a month before the trip. I won't pack actual suitcases with clothing and such until probably the day before we leave. But ahead of time (about a month), I'll get my 'pharmacy' built(band aids, neosporin, tylenol, etc..), get new luggage, and other non clothing items ready to be packed.

We go May 14th and I already have a huge stash of stuff that I want to bring with us...... I haven't "packed" it yet, but there is a growing pile of stuff sitting there waiting to be packed! As for the clothes and such, I will probably start putting that together the week before. My daughters will want to bring something and wear it the day before we leave and wonder why it's not clean! So a week out for the clothes and snacks. But right now there are new socks and panties for the family up there, flashlight, fans, camelbacks, sunscrean, rain ponchos... and other stuff just waiting!

I thought this was so funny! My husband and dd know every year that they're getting new socks and undies for the trip and sometimes I have thought to myself, "Am I the only wack-a-doo that buys new underwear based on their next trip to Disney?":rotfl:
(Not saying that you're a wack-a-doo, but I certainly am)

Pack the week before. We're leaving on Wednesday, and we haven't started packing yet......

If it were me, I think I'd be done packing. I'm always that excited to pack and be ready or I'd have to do something everyday until my trip arrived.

I already have a stash and we're not going for a couple of years. My husband probably can't wait because I talk about it everyday.

We leave May 11th and have most of the stuff packed. I am just waiting for my associate disounts at my job to buy clothes for me. I have all our shampoo, meds, soaps, that kind of stuff packed. I only have to pack our prescription meds the morning we leave. I have the kids and DH clothes packed in ziplock bags already in our bag.

Hey if you want to call it wack-a-doo, then I guess I am!! I want everyone to wear new undies... you never know! Plus it's a good reason to find and buy the princess panties (for the newly potty trained 2 year old)!! Not sure the older girls would want princess panties! But did get "CARS" for our 4 year old. I guess I could start packing it all up... but then I may miss something thinking it is already in there!!

Now if I could just decide on the strollers!

We're not going until October and I've already started collecting stuff! I read on a thread where people have started "Disney Boxes" where the start putting stuff that they won't be using until then.

All I know that since I'm doing the packing for 3 people, I'll be starting a lot of the packing at least a month ahead. Otherwise I will be up packing my stuff the night before and not get any sleep. But since we'll be into our Fall weather, it will be easy enough to pack many things ahead (like shorts and sandals) that we won't be using anymore.

I've started collecting clothing and misc. items that I've been purchasing for the trip, most of them from the Disney Store on clearance! I'd much rather do this than the last minute panic!:scared:

Thank goodness I'm not the only one :thumbsup2 . We don't arrive til August 26th, but have already started gathering and packing things for that trip. I'm buying us all matching tshirts for this trip (I wait til Old Navy has them on sale), but am putting them away...if we wore them now they would be ruined before August (can you imagine tshirts after Boy Scout camp? ).

To answer the original question - Its never too early....even if you don't have a trip planned, keep stuff ready....you never know when you might "accidently" book a Disney trip...

I leave on May 10th and I started the packing today. I"ve got the room to set up the suitcase and leave it until I go. I've put in some tops that I bought for the trip, swimming suits and some of the odds and ends I don't want to forget. If I start early, then when I think of something else, I can just throw it in. I find that I rarely forget things this way.

I start a list about a month before but I don't pack until the day before maybe two days before. I take everything so it's easy... just throw it all in as many suitcases as it takes. :thumbsup2

We are going in October and I have already started thinking about what I am going to take...what DH and I will wear on certain days of the trip, etc. I have also already started testing how many hair washings I can get out of a travel size shampoo, how many teeth brushings I can get out of a travel toothpaste, etc. to see if we can get away with just a carry-bag per person. That's what we're shooting for because I don't want our luggage to get lost! It's a fear that I have, which may or may not be irrational.

I have already purchased some shirts from the Disney store for DH and me to wear, and I would also like to get two Old Nany Halloween shirts when they become available since we're going for MNSSHP. I think I will start a Disney box (tub) as has been suggested and start stashing stuff in there.

BTW, I was able to get 20 brushings out of a travel toothpaste and I use a lot of toothpaste! That's just enough for the 10 brushings each that DH and I will need to do while at WDW. Yes, clearly I am crazy. :rotfl:

Like I said...I'm clearly crazy. But it's the little things like that that get me closer and closer to my trip while I work full-time and attend grad school part-time. A gal needs "something Disney" each day to keep her sane...or in this case insane. :rotfl:

We are leaving on May 18th, but not getting to WDW until the 21st. We're spending a couple of days with my MIL first.

Every one gets new socks and undies, so count me in that club. I've been picking up a little bit of stuff here and there as we've been doing regular shopping. Lots of stashes of stuff. I'll probably pack the box to ship down with some of it soon, and add the stuff that might expire about a 2 weeks prior to ship it to my MIL's. (like snack items). I already have some stuff, like water bottle holders and fanny packs from our DL trip last year. I just have to unearth it. And make sure everyone's swimsuits still fit.

So I'm collecting and coordinating but not packing quite yet. Soon, though very soon, I'll start. Probably at the beginning of May....if I can hold out that long.

I have some things I always have packed for Disney!!

I keep mister fans, water tight neck things..lol, bandaids etc...all in a disney bag and ready to go. Never know when my phone will ring and someone will want to take me on an all expense paid trip. PM me if any of you need my number! I am available for all trips after mid-June until the end of August. :lmao:

I do the box too, and save my travel size samples and freebies for Disney. I'm already starting to think about what to take. Not packing yet, not that organized (am that obsessed, though)

We are going the last week in August and I have a bag in my room where I'm throwing things for the trip like my Baggalini, travel size toothpastes, emergency ponchos, and other little things that would get lost or forgotten. We have to buy new luggage or I'd be trying to pack that already.:lmao:

We are off at 9am in the morning. I started preparing last week. and finished packing this morning. I didn't test the number of washes my travel size conditioner will get me but I feel better now that one bottle has proven good for 20 washes; I packed 2 and even with a teenager I feel I'm good to go. THank yolu for all the little things you all mentioned. I now remember I forgot the emergency med bag I keep with neosporin bandaids, bug bite stick etc. I'll go get that and our disney rain ponchos now as it is supposed to rain thurs. Boardwalk here we come.

I feel behind! We are leaving on May 10th . .. . and while I've bought a few things, I have not done anything like packing. My kids have no clue we're going. Can't start too early or my kids will wonder where all their clothes have gone! So, for now, it's just the stuff I've gotten on the sly in places they won't notice them.

I had to laugh at the toothpaste tester. . . I have invisalign braces and have disposable toothbrushes. Trying to figure out how many of those things I need to pack!
