It seems to be more popular in certain parts of the U.S. then in others, so I wanted to check to see if anyone would be interested in it.

I was curious because I didn't know what it was either.

Seems they are stuffed animals that come with a secret code for playing games on the web.

For those of you who said that you would participate, could you contact me or post here so that we can discuss about possibly having an exchange.

OMG, my kids love Webkinz!!!!
They got some for Christmas and are hooked now. It's alot of fun and not only did my 6 year old twin DDs and 9 year old DD love it, my 12 year old DS was also into them for awhile. He'd dress his Webkinz in kind of a rocker look. :rotfl:
He's not into it anymore but the girls still are and are always asking for more. I think they are great for ages 5-10 or so, depending on the child.
The Webkinz website also has a store locater which helped us find them in the beginning.
I would think about doing an exchange. I guess it would depend on when it was. We are moving in June and before too long I will be up to my eyeballs in packing tape and boxes, so I doubt I will have much free time to go shopping.
And I have a flip flop exchange that I am hosting the day after Easter.
But I'll keep an eye on this thread to see what happens. And to those who don't know what it is, if you have kids you really should check it out. It's alot of fun! :thumbsup2

Really? That's cool. I think for my DS there were just other things he wanted to do with his computer time. I really limit it since there are 4 kids and only 1 computer. (plus mom needs her DIS time :rolleyes1 )
But he gave his Webkinz to his sister and he always asks her if she's taking good care of it. :rotfl:
I think it depends on the kid. But I do think they are great fun. And they have so many to choose from now! There is something for everyone. :thumbsup2

We would! We are looking for the Polar Bear, the Panda Bear and the Dalmatian. If someone has any of those to trade let us know. :thumbsup2
I have a Yorkie and Black and White Kitten sitting in the closet gathering dust.

If anyone sees the new Clydesdale horse and wouldn't mind picking it up for me, I can mail you payment for it and the cost of shipping. Either that, or I could trade a Pegasus or a Koala. Thanks! :flower3:

Webkinz are very popular in our area. I work in a gift store and they fly out of our store as fast as we can get them on the display. The hot one in our store at this time is the reindeer.
I'm not interested in doing an exchange since I don't have any young kids that would be interested in collecting them.

I didn't know what in the world was Webkinz, :confused3 but Shawny did, her classmate/friend told her about it and we went to a local gift store in town and she got one, then we went online and registered, kind of beanie baby. She love them, so yes, she would love to play.

I'm not interested in the exchange, just chiming in. Ds and dd are to old for it. The stores have tons of them around here. Even the pet store has begun selling them. They also sell these trading card packs that my dd says have codes in them that get you a little virtual something for your online pet.

There's also charms, book marks, lip gloss, body spray, and clothes, what's going to be next. All these items have codes to use on the website not sure about the clothes. These are all very, very popular. Yesterday our school system begun their Thanksgiving break, I couldn't believe all the kids and their parents who came into the store to purchase their webkinz.

Patsy pointed out to me that getting something you want, and don't have already, might be hard. I also don't buy mine retail, so what's the average price of these, retail? Maybe that would deter people also? :confused3 Let me know what you think! EVERYONE!
I'll host it, but we'll have to work on the details before it's "Matt Official"! :rotfl:

"Matt Official"....wait until he wakes up and I tell him that! :rotfl2:
Maybe it could just be a wishlist type thing, almost like the Yankees where you list your top 5 wishes or and at least it is something to choose from. I would guess the average price is $13.00, at least in our area and then there are those lovely extras now:rolleyes: ...trading cards, bookmarks, mousepad, body spray! Not sure when the next group of new releases will be (there was the Yellow Lab, Seal and another horse that came out about a month or so ago) maybe waiting for that and doing something in Jan-Feb.

Webkinz can run from $13 to $17 depending on the store. My store sells them for $12.99 for the large ones and $9.99 for the small ones (our price is the suggested retail price). I've seem them as high as $16.99 depending on the store.
Hope this helps.

I have seen those prices online, but since there is a limited amount here, they can charge those prices :(.
