Is it in June :confused3 Please can someone who has been in June let me know how bad is it? Everytime I tell anyone I want to go in June they always say it is so HOT and it always Rains. I have never been during the summertime only in the Winter. I am going in June regardless but would love any feedback. Thanks :)

Yes, it is Hot in June. And, it rains at least once a day. Take cheap disposable rain ponchos. They fit in your pocket and can be thrown away after the brief shower. Or if you don't mind getting wet, play in the rain.
I don't like getting wet, but DH doesn't mind at all. It is hot enough that you will dry out soon enough and not be chilled.
Don't forget Sunscreen. Re-apply it often. I like the sticks they have now. They fit in my pocket and are not messy. And stay Hydrated. Drink lots of water. Ice water is free.

We love summer at WDW!:cool1: I went to WDW in Dec. for my first winter trip. The temps were varied from a high of 54 to 70ish. In the summer you never have to gues. It is always hot. We welcome the rain and plan around it. We have also found that the ponchos with rain feel like a sauna. usually we get a cup of free ice. We are at park openings and back to the hotel for a dip in the pool or a nap. We love summer! :cool1:

It's hot but not unbearable. Yes,there are usually rain showers but while everyone else runs back to their hotels, the parks clear! No lines.....

That is one of the reasons I want to go in June is that I won't have to pack coats, hats, gloves, pants. My suitcase will be filled with shorts and bathing suits because there will be no question regarding the temperature. :thumbsup2

We usually go the last week of June as soon as school gets out here in NY.
It is hot but we do not it find unbearable. We go to the parks early and we usually make our ADRS for lunch around 1:00 ish and if we time it right the rain comes and goes while we are inside. We try to go to the shows inthe afternoon as well. We will head back to the resort for nap, swim etc... and then hit the parrks again in the early evening. We do counter service or DTD Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck cafe for late dinner and try to hit the extra magical hours if we have the energy. I agree drink lots of water, that is the majority of our summer budget because we love the no bag line.
As far as the raain goes , it has never stopped us. Crowds are pretty managable we found July 4 was when it got really busy!
We are going Memorial Day weekend and a weekend in December so we will not be there that time this year. Have a great time
Off this topic...does anyone know when the Florida pssholders are blocked out?

We were there in the 2nd week of June and it was in the 90s. HOTTTTT! The sun was brutal! Definitely plan an afternoon swim break--that made all the difference for us. Bring a mister fan, and drink LOTS of water, and use your sunscreen. You should be ok.

Yes it is hot in June. We went last year June 10-16th and it was hot and humid. Like you walk out of your room and the humidity just hits you. It rained quite a bit because of the hurricane. We bought ponchos and everything but Ive decided its not worth it, you get wet either way. Either because you don't have one and it starts pouring or you do have one in your backpack and it starts pouring and when you put it on your wet with sweat. gross feeling
A/C was never appreciated more ! :rotfl:
We didn't find it unbearable but after switching from hot and wet to cold a/c (like figments imagination) you get the chills (no sweater needed though!)

It is hot in June not as hot as everyone says it is, make sure you have plenty of water, and sun screen and duck in and out of the a/c cooled buildings. People tend to exagerate when it comes to the heat and humidity. if you have been in the northeast the last 2 summers its is no worse than that. Just be smart Lots of Water, send it to yourself via UPS like we did last year. it does rain everyday between 3 and 5 pm, it doesnt rain alot, but it is expected with the humidity. pack an umbrella those ponchos are unbearable in the humidity.

We went last June and didn't find it to be bad at all. We felt that Disney does such a great job keeping the lines inside buildings and/or in the shade, that we didn't have any problems with the heat. I don't think we even applied sunscreen after the first day. And, the showers are usually in the afternoon, so even that didn't bother us too bad. Other than the 'tropical storm' that came through, our weather was great to us! (Of course, we're Okies & the weather is never consistent here, so what do we know:confused3 )

We have been to Disney two times in June. We are going again this June 14th -20th. It is hot but then again it is Florida! We loved it .If it got to hot we went back to the resort for a few hours. I played golf in the afternoon four times. It is like anything else if you do not like heat do not go in June. If heat dose not bother you go have fun. :cool1:

I am so glad to read all of these positive replies :) I don't mind the heat so much its the humidity thats a bummer but being from the northeast I have no choice but to be use to it. I would love to try October some year, but I could never go unless my kids could go, one will be in college next year and the other in 8th grade they still love it as much as I do :goodvibes

Hot....but fun, just schedule yourself to enjoy all that Disney has to offer, like the pools and the extended hours. Get to the parks early in the morning head back to the hotel for a swim, head back to the parks in the evening ... if your staying on property there are extended hours use them... drink water, dress light... Have Fun

We're going the third week in June this year. In the past, we've gone in August and dealt with the heat and humidity. It can't be any worse....right??

Well, during our winter visits it sometimes has been too cold for me (not always), so I would say that being cold is worse than being hot. I really hate cold weather.

We also have gone the last week of June and had a wonderful time. It was in the 90s each day. We had a few afternoon downpours and one wicked thunderstorm one night--just like everywhere in the summer. My best advice would be to get an early start. We got alot done before the heat got intense -around 1pm. We would head off for a meal in an air conditioned restaurant offsite as we had a car and then head back to our hotel for a rest and a swim. Then it was back to the fun. Plan for the heat and you will be fine.:beach:

I would say that "hot" is a relative term. This will be our 5th trip, always going the first week of June. It's no hotter there than it is where I live in Oklahoma. The humidity there is more like we sometimes get in July and August. AND, it can be brutal if you are not accustomed to that kind of heat/humidity mix. S-l-o-w d-o-w-n and drink lots of water. Get in a cool building when you can, and you'll be fine. If it gets to be too much for you, head back to your hotel for a dip in the pool and relax, it sure isn't worth heat exhaustion/stroke if you keep pushing yourself. Wishing Good weather for you!!!!

We've been in June once. It was HOT and it did rain quite a bit while we were there. Make sure you drink plenty of water and take breaks. Pop into gift shops and browse to cool off.
Have a great trip!

It's really no hotter here than it is in many other parts of the country during the summer. The difference is that people in other areas don't spend hours walking around on cement that is soaking up the heat. It feels much hotter in the theme parks than it feels outside the parks.
Normally, we have afternoon thunderstorms as a result of the collision of the sea breezes over central Florida. The storms come up fast and can be quite severe, but usually don't last long. Lately, we've been in a very dry pattern. Unless things change (which is not predicted), we will have fewer summer storms. That's not good. We really need the rain. We have already had a ton of brush-fires in the area.
OP, since you are not used to Florida during the summer, please be careful if there should be a thunderstorm. Lightening is a very real danger. Each year, multiple people are struck by lightening. When lightening starts, locals take cover. It always amazes me then number of visitors I see walking around in intense thunderstorms as if they are immune to the danger.

Here's another vote for the "hate cold weather" club!! Like other posters have said, take it easy, drink lots of water, get a mist-fan, go into stores to browse(not buy:confused3 ) & cool off. Enjoy yourself, you're at Disney World!

ok, here is my opinion....it isn't hot like Las Vegas is hot - that is really HOT, but it is sticky, humid hot. We go every year the first week in June (and about 4 other weeks during the year) and it is like a sauna. You get all fixed up and you walk outside and the humidity drenches you. The sun can be brutal at times, I have seen a lot of umbrellas to get relief from the sun. When it rain showers, it is a heavenly relief.
Of course, I live in the Northeast. My mom lives in SC and to her, 70degrees is cold!

We went in June of 2004. It was super hot, but we never saw a drop of rain. One afternoon it clouded up and looked like it could pour, but it never did.

It sounds like we will have to pace ourselves and go early to the parks! I am use to the humdity somewhat, that is how our summers usually end up. I am not a big fan of the humid weather but who cares we'll be in Disney World :cool1: I plan on buying some of those (misters) that some people on here have talked about, I think I'll need them.

NO! We went in August one year and swore we'd never do it again. Well, if that were the only time I guess we could... anyway :)
We go in June when the kids and I get out of school. We live in southeast GA so we're pretty used to the heat/humidity. But, August was nowhere near as hot IMHO. At least in June there is a breeze. It seemed like in August there was nothing - nada!:cool2:

We went for a week last year in June...it was pretty hot, but it wasnt so bad. It was very crowded though. Think we are gonna try to go in October or November this year so we can take our 3 year old grandson. Dont want it to be so hot for him. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

We went in June last year and will again this year. It was not bad at all. Only rained twice. Once while at TL. That was horrible. The other was while at dinner, no problem. As for heat, drink lots of water. I've found that there is a lot of shade when you need it. Also we all wore hats, and I attached a carabiner to the fanny packs to hold them while on rides. Start early and go back to hotel for a break in the pool. Sunglasses for everyone is a must. Stop when you need to, the attractions will be there when you are ready.
Have Fun!!!! and you won't even notice the heat. :dance3:

I am going this june for my birthday...and although I hate the heat...and definately the humidity...ick....I am just going to suffer through it all...cause I am going to DISNEY WORLD!!! I just plan on drinkin lots of water, I am going to find some of those misters b4 I go, and I just splurged and bought myself a new pair of Ralph Lauren sunglasses, and I think the time has come for me to buy a pair of Crocs. I hear they are one of the best things to wear to the park...so although I am not a huge fan of them...time for me to buy a pair lol
