Pick me, pick me! Can I be first?? :teacher: :) I have the journal boxes almost all cut out and the design for my tag finished. I just need to make them! :)

Mickster, are you being the teacher's pet again?? Huh? Huh?
I have my ideas on paper.. and have supplies ready..and have my cut outs... and....I just need some down time to get things cut out.. but first.. I have to make a batch of cookies for DD to take to school tomorrow.. they are celebrating Pi day (tomorrow, I know a day late..but her teacher was in a conference all day after she had given the assignment out so she bumped it back a day so she could take part in the "cookie" fest!) You should see her cut little poster made about Pi! And we cut all the letters out with my Cricut! Love that little machine.. it whips out great little titles that are very neat and tidy! LOL

Bought the elements for my tag (and I think for the "other" item -- which I don't know what exactly it is yet) -- now to actually design it. Feeling so little inspiration, but LOVE what I got so we'll work with it.

I am so sorry Mickster. I can't let you be line leader today. Mazda has already finished and MAILED hers out. Even though they went to Mickeyteacher, Mazda gets the extra credit.
Tiggermei, I understand about getting the items before having a clear picture in mind of what I will be doing. Sometimes I have drawings & prototypes and sometimes I totally wing it and just start putting things together. My Adventureland topper'n'tags was a total wing it.

Ok. I've got the journal boxes done. I hope to get the stuff cut for my tags tonight. Maybe I'll be done by tomorrow and they can go in the mail on Monday. Keep those fingers crossed (but only if it doesn't interfere with your ability to finish what you are working on! :))

So you are going to State!?
PrincessNancy96
03-19-2007, 10:26 AM
We actually had STATE FINALS this weekend.. We placed 3rd in the state!!! The boys did such a good job!! The parents were all so proud of their composure when we lost our first game.. the coach from the opposing team told the boys he actually dreads playing our boys because we give them a run for their money every time.. Our boys pulled themselves together and came out fighting in the next 2 games!!!
Between the 2nd & 3rd game, 4 of our players left to go play soccer, my ds included.. 2 went south and 2 headed north to play. I made a 30 minute trip in 15! The school we were playing at is in my old stomping grounds so I knew the back roads to take and avoid traffic! LOL DS was only 15 minutes late to the game and was on the soccer field playing before I was even parking the van! LOL I came running in w/ DD and DS and asked where DS was.. they laughed and said on the field already!
We hustled back from soccer to basketball and had time to rest between games!!! It was a GREAT day!!!
It's raining today.. so hopefully soccer will get cancelled and we will have tonight off.. (well, all but shopping for DD some dress shoes for her National Jr. Honor Society induction this week).

Ok. I have 1 sick DS (cough & sore throat), 1 DH at work with the car because I have 1 car in the shop for an inspection. I also have 1 DD at home as usual. So, that means I have to borrow a car to take DS to the doctor. He is in no shape to also go to the post office. I'll mail it all tomorrow. Promise!

Hope you DS is feeling better!

He's totally fine. What a kid he is. Just like his father. Anyway, we went to the doctor and he said that his lungs are clear, his nose is clear. It's probably allergies. Take allergy medicine before bed. Sigh.
I'll be mailing tomorrow.
PrincessNancy96
03-19-2007, 03:50 PM
Good to hear it's nothing major!! Allergies are a pain this time of year!!!
AlexWyattMommy
03-19-2007, 03:53 PM
Shall we talk about allergies? My oldest has them so bad. He was miserable, spring, summer, fall and winter if around cats. He's been taking shots for a year now, and still they are awful. Nasal spray once a day, Singular once a day. And if he forgets and misses a day, takes two or three to recover. He is allergice to cats, dust mites, mold, trees, grasses, ragweed. Guess who never has to mow the grass or rake leaves? :rotfl:

Poor little guy... So, what are his chores since his brother will be taking on mowing and raking? :laundy: I vote :laundy:
Okay, off to call and find out where my friend is so she can pick up her little ones at the jr. high where I have to pick DD up from track practice..
the only bright side.. soccer got cancelled tonight..so it's shoe shopping for DD and that's it tonight!!

Okay, for the girls..
How do you all feel about a Music Program set?? It would just be basic.. Music Program on the tag w/ musical notes.. and than a shaker box... please let me know... I have like 40 music programs to scrap so that is why I thought of it..
I'm working diligently on the others... but I have time.. so I'm not going to panic.. I have to get a little one ready to go on a 3 day class field trip (leaves tomorrow night-be back on Sunday) so I will be working on these to keep from stressing over one of my babies being gone...

I'm not in the girls, but I like the idea of a music program theme.

VERY pleased with this idea. I have a creative/musical child -- not an athlete at all. I'd wondered if we could do a full swap (maybe as a group with the sports swap???) to cover non-athletic extracurriculars -- such as drama, music (band, chorus, etc), dance (though it might fit with athletics), etc. I'll be needing lots of these since DD has gotten into acting and music now.
Yea!!! One less thing to figure out.

I've got both athletes and musicians (band & choir), DD does dance too..
I'll get with AWM and see if we can add the non-athlete mix to the sports swap!!! ;)
I think I will go w/ the music program theme then!! ;) Yeah!! :)
AlexWyattMommy
03-21-2007, 09:28 PM
No need to get with me, I am totally on board with this idea. I don't have athletic boys either, so creative/music works for me too.
PrincessNancy96
03-21-2007, 09:39 PM
Well, I just wanted to make sure before I started making decisions on my own!!! :)
I think creativity/music is a blessing.. it allows kids to be themselves without having to be athletic.. and all in all.. being musically, or creative is very athletic anyway!! KWIM?
I'm all for any activity that keeps the kids healthy, minds busy and out of trouble!! :)
MazdaUK
03-22-2007, 05:43 AM
Neither of my boys is at all athletic - eldest in into drama and violin, younger has just started the recorder at scholl and is into...er....dinosaurs :rotfl2: Not sure how we'd manage that one:rotfl: But music might be good, although I don't have a lot of music photos I do have plenty of drama ones.:goodvibes
AlexWyattMommy
03-22-2007, 06:11 AM
That was my thinking. The drama ones (wish I had die cuts of the masks) would be great even if your kids don't do that in school. There is so much drama in real life that the elements would be used somehow.
4ltlTinks
03-22-2007, 07:10 AM
I like the idea of a non-athletic swap...music programs and dance in particular...there was a dance group in one of our other swaps last year, but I was the only one who signed up for it, so it was dropped. I was bummed because I have 4 girls in three different types of dance.
AlexWyattMommy
03-22-2007, 07:31 AM
Well, I'm pretty sure that won't be a problem with our swap. I have two nieces who dance, so I can take spot or two also.
PrincessNancy96
03-22-2007, 08:46 AM
I have lots of dance photos of DD that need to be scrapped.. Drama.. oh, we always have drama here too!!! No actors yet in school productions..but we get a lot of home made productions/shows from our kids! I have a ton of pictures from where the kids were wired one day..and we singing and dancing and even got so crazy that DsS dressed up as a girl! Makes for a great picture at graduation!!! LOL
YodasMom
03-22-2007, 09:15 AM
I might consider entering a swap with a music / drama theme depending on the due date. I've got tons of photos since this is what I and my family have been involved in all my life.
PrincessNancy96
03-22-2007, 09:47 AM

I finally got my idea to work on cardstock!! Thank goodness for that Cricut!! :) I would have never been able to get them to look right cutting them for a template and by hand!! I hope you all like them!!
My musical ones came out pretty cute.. DH said not to add to much because of the busy note paper.. But I plan to run to town tomorrow and get some stickers that can be added by each of you. I do adore the way they turned out!
Now, to make sure my boys & non-gender turn out as good!
Okay, off to get on DS.. He came in hear all "dolled up" in my make up! Hello? What a goof!
AlexWyattMommy
03-23-2007, 11:05 AM
I remember when my oldest was about 18 months and he really really wanted me to paint his fingernails. So I painted his big toenails instead. I thought my DH was going to stroke out! You would have thought I put bows in my boy's hair and made him wear a tutu. :rotfl: Needless to say, there has never been another "incident" with Mommy's pretty stuff.
PrincessNancy96
03-23-2007, 11:16 AM

Youngest DNeph loved dressing up in satin dresses and gloves and sparkly shoes. His grandad was not happy - but he's grown out of it now! As DSis said, many boys dress up as pirates and superman but they don't still do it when they're 18 - well, most of them don't;)

4ltlTinks, got you updated. I am so excited to see new perspectives. Ones that I can touch, because looking on TwoPeas doesn't always work for me.
Mazda, I live near a Rennaissance festival. I get to see boys and men still playing dress up after all these years. There are some mighty fine turn of leg in tights.

I've got my creative juices flowing!! I have 2 sets done..and the last one cut out ready to assemble!!! :) So, I will have these bagged, tagged and ready to go out the door Monday!! ;)
Just in time to run up to Wally World and get DSs field trip pictures developed.. We called him last night.. poor guy teared up... broke mommy's heart into a million pieces.. I spent the rest of the night crying, and staying busy today.. He will be home about 8AM tomorrow morning; needless to say I have 2 people to call on my phone tree. I told DH to call them, I was going to be changing and out the door, I didn't care if I was waiting an hour or more that I wanted to be there to see my baby come home..and PICTURES!!! So I will have all my babies back home with me shortly!!
ETA: Done!! :) Now to take pictures, bag and tag and put into the mailer!! YEAH!!

Ok, I have scrappers block- I can not come up with any gender specific shaker boxes- I was wondering if I make some general school themed shaker boxes if everyone would be ok with it- For example I can do an apple, school bus, and backpack for each person in both groups.
What do ya'll think?
Let me know, as I can cut them out, complete them and mail them this weekend!

Totally okay. I just didn't want those who signed up for boys to get girly things and those who signed up for girls get boyish things. So gender neutral for either should be okay.
Oh, and hey copycat. Guess you have a cricut too?
AlexWyattMommy
03-27-2007, 09:19 PM
Oh, hey, you could, if you have the papers, make the girls' in pastel and the boys' in primary colors and you would still be considered gender specific.
And I'll take the cat down later. He's just too cute. I was just going to make little ones as embellishments, so it'll be cool have bigger ones to match.

03-28-2007, 06:45 AM
Nope, I don't think a lot of people will be using it. Even if they did, the chances of everything looking the same really are slim to none.
You just do what feels right to you. I can't tell you how many times I've changed my mind even after cutting everything out. I have prototypes that look nothing like the ends ones.
PS- I'll go take the cat away. It was cute though, right?

Glad they got there. I was hoping the apple pping wasn't too plain, I wanted to originally make it into a shaker, but didn't like the way it looked. Glad you liked them.

Yes, there are pictures. But you have to wait until I make the send/rec'd thread. And it isn't happening with this creature I have with me today. OM gosh, I'm turning grey.

Maybe your creature can come over and distract my 2 creatures! Argh! When does school start again?? (Good thing it is tomorrow! They have been off since March 30. Enough already!)
I supoose I can wait. I guess I'll go eat something out of DS's easter basket. See AWM - when I can't wear my jeans, I'll know whose fault it is! Your creature's! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Creatures.. I have creatures.. and none of them want to talk to me unless I'm
1. On the phone
2. DIS-ing
3. in the bathroom!
Mickster

Mine do that too. Why is that? Why is it so interesting to talk to mom once she can no longer actually pay attention to every last word? Who knows? Not me. I am not a creature. :)

How about bedtime.. Meal time rolls around.. "how was your day, what happened at school, anything exciting?".. response.. NOTHING.. .but bedtime rolls around.. I can find out what happened in ever class, who asked to go to the bathroom, who got caught w/ gum, who dropped their instrument, who got sick...and all the gory details to that... but yet NOTHING happened during the day!
