Another waitlist help request, please

I have a res for 4 nts in a 2 BR at OKW for May 14-18, 2007. I want to wait list for a 2 BR at BWV (I know it is a long shot, but I'm quite OK with either resort). MS recommended I do it as one request, attached to my SSR res. However, I have enough points to book both, so could I possibly do this: go on the list day-by-day (auto-confirm, 31 days only) if all my days come through, then I'd cancel OKW, if not, cancel BWV. Is this (a) possible and (b) acceptable "courtesy"-wise, or is it frowned upon as being rude and/or selfish?

That would be the best way to do it, IMO. As long as you have enough points and will remember to check on the status of the waitlist 31 days ahead - and cancel whatever you don't want - then you should be fine (and won't have to deal with the Holding Account).

There is no problem using your points in that fashion. :)

How long do they keep you on the waitlist? Does it end 31 days before or is it closer to the date?

MS will empty the waitlist at 30 days - but you can call and be placed back on the waitlist until it is again emptied 7 days before arrival date. After that, you can just continue to call daily, but there is no more waitlist.
