We have about three families, of about 5 members each, who would like to camp at Ft. Wilderness...just tent camping. Has anyone done this? Can you tell me how many sites we would need and if we can get them together? We are hoping for April before it gets any hotter. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

The campsites are limited to 10 people and one car per site. You would need at least 2 sites. If you are talking about this April you REALLY need to book ASAP and it may take several tries to get the resis. They normally have no problem getting sites together but you do need to book ASAP. I know I would want my own site so I could have my car at the campsite especially if I was tent camping.

Good Luck

One car per site, the rest up front .

You may qualify for the large group area that they have for Scouts and groups like that. Its near the 800 loop. It has large tenting area with BBQ Pits and a comfort station just for the area. I saw it when were in the 800 loop last year in June and nobody was using it.

If you are going to make individual ressies, just make sure you have them link your reservations numbers together. That way your campsites will be together.

I wouldn't go with the group area for that size group. One there is no electric. Also, it is $10 per night per person.

Depending on the season, two partial hookup sites would be less than the group area.
