Anyone else???!!!
My husband, me, and 8 year old daughter...
We just booked a Land/Sea Package. We'll be at the Polynesian from Oct.
4-7 before setting sail on the Wonder on the 7th. We've never been to Disney nor have we ever been on a cruise!!! So excited! DD talks about it EVERY day...it's going to be a long 7 months waiting for this!
Hoping to makes some connections, especially for her as she is an only child. DH and I would LOVE to have at least one evening to ourselves so that we can go to PALO and possibly the quiet pool...but I don't think DD will be to keen on going to the kids area (forgot what it's called) alone. Hope she will make some friends to play with while on cruise!

Hi There,
I was beginning to wonder if there was anyone else on this cruise. I know there are a few others on this board going on this cruise. We have been to Disney several times but this is our 1st cruise. We have 9 sailing with us, me and DH, DS 11, DD 7, my mom, brother and sister in law and 2 nieces 8, 9. We are also doing the land/sea and will be staying at the Yacht and Beach Club.:grouphug: We are all so looking forward to this vacation:beach: Where are you from? What cabins do you have? Hope to hear from you soon!! Kim
Only 6 months 3 weeks and 1 day!!!!!!

Hi there! We are going on the October 7, 2007 cruise too - I can't wait! There is another thread on here somewhere with a few families that are going, but I haven't seen any activity on it in a while.
We are me, DH, DD-8 and DD-9. I have been on a Disney cruise before (a 4-night this past December with some girlfriends) but my kids have never been on a cruise at all. We are big Disney fans, though, and they are very excited. We watched the travel channel special over and over (although then DH erased it by mistake).
After the cruise we are heading to Disney for a few days, staying at Port Orleans, and going to MNSSHP. We did MNSSHP this past October and it was really a highlight of our trip. We are also going to do a day trip to Kennedy Space Center.
Our cabin is on the 5th floor, a "secret" porthole one, but I can't remember the number at the moment (maybe 5020??).
It sounds like the kids in these groups are right around the same ages -- it would be super to hook them up, especially so that they might enjoy the kids clubs more. As you say, it will be nice to have an evening at Palo, or some time to just relax at the adult pool (which is very, very pleasant). Maybe when it gets closer we can have them e-mail each other. Glad to meet you all!

Hi all:
I will also be on this cruise with my daughter (7), sister in laws, nephew (10) and of course Nana. Don't worry about your daughter having fun - I had to drag her out of the Oceaneer Club every night on our last cruise. We were also on a four day last December. Wanted to do the 7 day this time around, but the sister-in-law was nervous about it being her first time. We have one of the secret verandah rooms at navigator price - Deck 7 aft. Close to back staircase, "secret" deck, and soda machines! Thinking of staying a couple nights in WDW after cruise. It would be great if all the girls could meet up! :grouphug:

Hi all. I think it is a great idea to meet up on the first afternoon and introduce the girls. We are flying in the day before, so we should have plenty of time the first day to settle in (and maybe go for a quick swim before the pools get too crowded).
Terri, you should definitely consider going to MNSSHP, especially if you haven't been before. It was one of my favorite parts of our last Disney trip. We'll be heading there on the day we disembark from the cruise. I found the dates from a link somewhere on this board... but they should post them officially soon, if they haven't yet. Someone also said they were considering a Halloween party night at MGM, which would be scarier and meant for older kids -- probably not our speed yet!
We are also going to have to figure out which parks to attend on our little Disney mini-trip after the cruise. Since DH wants to do a day at KSC, and my kids want a water park day, we won't be able to do all the parks... I will have to poll the girls and see what they have in mind when we get closer.

We are also flying in the night before-staying at the Hyatt. We actually did the MNSSHP last year, so weren't planning on it this year. We want to hit EPCOT for Food and Wine that Thursday and then on Friday hit MK, since Nana missed it last year due to being sick the day we went there. Not sure if were staying Sat or not. It depends on if hotel prices come down by then. Spent too much money getting the verandah! Waiting for Pop Century Passholder rates. We'll see!

We thought about the Hyatt but decided to go with a hotel near the port (Country Inn and Suites -- breakfast included). I had fun reading all the posts on these boards about the various hotels - it really helped me make up my mind, although there are lots of good options. We are going to stay through the Saturday after the cruise and return home Sunday, or at least that's the plan right now. I love that the hotel reservations (for room only) have a bit more flexibility to them, so that if the situation changes you can actually change your plans.
Have you seen the posts about getting really good prices on the Hyatt using Priceline? I haven't tried that, but some people have gotten good deals that way.

I'm so glad to see that so many of us have children about the same age!!! I would absolutely love for them to be able to meet before we set sail! I'm hoping that if DD makes some friends she won't be so against the idea of going to the Oceaneer's Lab. Right now, she says that she will not want to go at all! She just wants to be with us! Not that I want her to stay there alot---this trip is really for her and us as a family...not for DH and me. But, a few hours of alone time would be nice---Serenity Bay, Palo, the Quiet Pool! Ahhhh, dreaming!!!

Just bumping to keep this current. My DD-9 is standing here right now, reading over my shoulder, and I'm explaining to her how we'll get the girls writing to each other when the trip gets closer. "Like pen pals?" she asked? Yup.
She suggested I end with this::cat: :wizard: to share some of her favorite things!

So, I was telling Haley (will be 8 at time of cruise) about "meeting" some moms online who have girls her age who will be there at the same time...and about possibly getting to know eachother beforehand. She is really getting into the whole computer thing now...and was wondering if the girls could
e-mail eachother? She was very excited about that thought. If any of your girls would like to do that, we could share email addresses so that they can get started. Just let me know!

We plan on booking the glass bottom boat tour, as last time I really didn't care for Nassau itself and they cancelled this on us last time. This seemed like something good for the first timers going with us and make both kids happy. We also are booking the stingray encounter at Castaway Cay. My DD is learning how to snorkle so this would be a good combination. I REALLY wanted to do the para sailing, but I wouldn't do it without DD and she's not 8 yet! :sad1: Hoping to book the Palo dinner on our repeat restaurant night and brunch for the sea day. Found mixed reviews on non-Disney excursions so be careful. Heard great things about the non-Disney dolphin encounters-you get more for your money, so maybe check that out!

Anyone else coming along that has little ones? I'd love to try to help DD make a friend.

Finally, I've been wondering if anyone else was on this ride or if we'd have it all too ourselves. :)
My family will be there. We are also coming in a day early for the 3 day land part. We are Mom, Dad, DS9 and DS11. Just yesterday we turn in all our passport info. We've booked a room at the Comfort Inn in Nassau so we can do the Atlantis thing. Still need to get my flight.. I'm hoping to find a deal between now and October. Anyone familiar with this? I'm nervous.
Anyone working on a Door Magnet Thing? We're on the 2nd deck..way down low.. but that's ok.. :)
Nice meeting you all...
BTW - This is our first family cruise and on Disney even! Not sure what to expect or plan for. Will the boys care about Characters (I dont think so). Will they care about pin trading (they haven't so far)...

Hi Peace:
Welcome! Your boys will probably love the pirate night even if they don't get into the characters, so I wouldn't worry. Last cruise we had lots of door magnets because we had decorated for Christmas, not sure if we'll do too much this year. Be aware-they don't allow any type of adhesives--bring magnets only! We had stateroom 2017 on our last cruise and loved it. It was all the way forward and really quiet. It was small but a great value for the price we paid. Do you know your room numbers yet?? Check this website for stateroom reports to get a review of your room. Also, you didn't say where you were flying from, but you can usually find really cheap seats with Southwest and AirTran if you don't mind the cattle call when boarding. Also, check Expedia and Orbitz for the non-discount airlines. If you go to seatguru.com you can see if you have a bad seat before you pick your seat assignment. Of course this doesn't apply if you fly Southwest. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any questions. Everybody on this thread has been great!

Hi there! I can't believe we are getting so close to the cruise. As for characters and pins, my girls were already kind of tired of characters when we did Disney last year (they were 7 and 8). We did get sucked into pin trading - we were each given a lanyard and 4 pins as one of those "wishes" gifts at Blizzard Beach, and so they got into it. I didn't see as much going on with pin trading on the cruise as at the parks, but I will probably wind up buying them one for the cruise, and they might do a pin trading event if we can fit it in. But it would be easy enough to avoid on the cruise.
I am starting to get worried about how to plan/fit in all the activities. We have early dining, and then would see the show afterwards. But I'd also like to do dinner at Palo, which can be booked pretty soon, but I don't know whether to do it at dinnertime and feed the kids pizza or burgers on deck, and do Palo at regular dinner time... or some other setup. I don't want us to miss the shows, either. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I'm excited, but I'm doing the planning. Everyone else is kinda, ok, yea we know we have vacation plans, but until it is closer.. they aren't onboard yet. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do the Mickey Ears for the door. For magnets, I'm going to use all those adertisement magents stuck to the fridge :).
Here is the link for the ears, if anyone else wants to join me :).

Question for any non-first time DCL travelers.. I was thinking.. I heard that to book Palo and excursions, your account had to be paid in full. When are you able to pay? Did anyone else hear this too? I want to be sure I am paid so I can make at least my Palo reservation. Also, is there a list somewhere of the excursions and their costs so I know what we might want to do?
Thanks in advance.
glassslipper2004
06-18-2007, 07:20 PM
I believe you can pay anytime you want.
There is a list of excursions on the Disney cruise website - I haven't looked at it in a while, but I'm pretty sure it lists the prices, too, along with a description of each.
Funny, although I have thought and thought about how to schedule Palo and various excursions, after talking with DH last night I think we are just going to try to relax and not book too many events. I was worried that if we did dinner at Palo we'd miss either a nice dinner at one of the restaurants and/or one of the shows; the only way to really avoid this is to schedule Palo on one of the nights you have a restaurant twice - but not on the Pirate night - I was going nuts!
As for Nassau, I'm thinking we will walk or cab it to a beach (I've heard of Cable beach, and the beach by a nearby hotel... the Windham? Can't remember). What are other people thinking of doing?

This sounds like the same hotel we've booked. It is .1m from Atlantis Paradise Island. I understand it is just across the street. Now, how hard is it to cross the street, I do not know ;). I do know that to get to the hotel we have to take a taxi from the port to the hotel (and that scares me). I hear the drives can drive absolutely crazy.
Also, when booking this, don't forget to check the 'rates'. The AAA and the internet rates are less then 'standard' rates.
Maybe we'll see you there :).

Hi all. I just booked Palo for Monday night (that should be our double up night, with the same restaurant repeated later in the cruise) at 6. I figure we'll feed the kids just before 6 on the deck, pizza or burgers or whatever, and then deposit them at the kids' club for a few hours while we eat. Then we can all go see that evening's show together.
We also made reservations for the stingray event on Castaway Cay at 10 a.m. - so if any of you out there with kids in this age range (8 and 9 year old girls) want to join us, that would be fun.
Hope you are all enjoying the summer. We certainly are - we just got a new filter for our pool, and are finally able to have it get nice and clear and blue. Not quite the same as swimming in the Caribbean, but awfully pleasant nonetheless!

The brunch is fantastic - maybe even more amazing than the dinner - but we aren't going to do it this time, unless I change my DH's mind at some point. He has this crazy idea we should spend most of our time with the kids... :) But I highly recommend it! And I can't wait to see if what so many posters say is true; that when your kids start going to the kids' clubs, they don't want to leave. I'm hoping to strike a good balance between relaxing by the adult pool with no kids around, and having fun together with the whole family.

Hey Sandy:
We liked the brunch last time even better than the dinner, so we're doing it again this time. As for the kids clubs, I had to drag my daughter out of there after midnight a couple times. Since we spent most of the days together and she was there just in the evening we still had good quality time together! The only thing she really didn't get into were the activities at Scuttle's Cove-it was the only time I was paged. I'll bet u get plenty of quality "alone time"!
Terri
glassslipper2004
07-15-2007, 07:24 AM
What were the Scuttle's Cove activities like? I get the feeling from the description that there isn't any water involved, which I can see might make a kid feel left out of the fun on Castaway Cay (if they were old enough to get it).
I got to visit the adult beach on my ladies-only cruise last December, and while it was wonderful (and chilly, in December) I think we'll all hang out together on Castaway Cay - unless of course my kids want a break from us!
eyesing2
07-15-2007, 02:13 PM
Scuttle's Cove is an off shore sandy area. They have a whale dig where the kids dig up the whale bones and some other activities, but nothing involving going to the water. I can understand where there are safety issues involved. There should be a navigator for the kids on the days activities there. I saw kids there having fun, but my DD was more interested in playing in the water. :cool2:

Hi everyone! I haven't been on the boards in a while, but I'm starting to get back into it since it's just about time for us to book excursions and such. Since we are first-timers, I believe Tuesday is the day we can book. What time (Central) can I begin booking? Would you suggest actually staying up late in order to book as soon as it becomes available? Seems as though Palo and certain activities go fast.
Also, this is what we were thinking in the way of excursions...
Nassau: Auarium at Atlantis and Dolphin Encounter
Castaway Cay: Extreme Getaway Package (float rental, bike rental, snorkling, and stingrays), and a banana boat ride
Please give me some feedback on these choices. We have never been, so we really have no idea if there will even be time to do all of this and/or if they are worth all the extra money. Thoughts???
One more thing...how do you determine which nights you eat in which restaurants? We would like to book Palo on our repeat night, but I have no idea what night that will be. We signed up for late dinner (8:30 I think)...not sure if we should have maybe gone with earlier dinner since DD is only 8 yrs old...

Hi Haleysmom:
I got my excursions at 11 pm my time (central), so depending on the time zone you're in you might not have to stay up too late. It opened up right at midnight eastern time on the 90th day. The excursions you planned sound really great! I haven't done the banana boat yet-waiting until DD turns 8 next year! FYI-the Atlantis tour is A LOT of walking that Disney doesn't tell you about. Are u booking through them or just grabbing a taxi ride to Atlantis??
I've never done the Dolphin Encounter, but have heard mixed reviews about it. It's rather expensive for the short time you actually get to spend w/ the dolphins. When my mom did it, she liked it but didn't think it was a great value. I've heard non-Disney dolphin encounters do a little more, but then u run a risk with a non-Disney excursion.
I believe that the Nassau night should be one of the duplicate nights. That's the night that we booked for Palo's. You definitely don't want to book on Castaway Cay night, because that is the night of the pirate party and fireworks. pirate: Either way if you don't get the seating rotation that you are expecting (we had APPT last time and it was great!) then you have the option of changing it right after you board-usually at Wavebands-but verify place and time when u check in!
We also booked the late dinner at 8:30pm. We prefer it, otherwise my daughter would fall asleep during the late show performances. If we get hungry early we usually order a cheese plate to the room to tide us over while we're changing clothes for the evening. It works well for us!
Hope you get everything you want! Good Luck! :wizard:

Hi Haleysmom: We decided to check in at the Comfort Suites in Nassau - you get free access to all of Atlantis which is a lot cheaper than DCL's Atlantis excursion, plus you can use the pool & beach. I am also concerned about booking Palo's. It would be great if our rotation is APPT. We have 8:30 dining with our 5 year old grandaughter but she is used to eating late and staying up late so we should be fine. Getting closer - :dance3:

Thanks Eyesing and Nana...I really appreciate all the info! I'm having the hardest time booking our excursions. I was able to access everyhing last night when it first opened, but wasn't able to actually book anything. Same thing for today. I was able to rserve a couple of things, but not able to submit anything....so it still shows at "uncomfirmed". I'm getting really frustrated with the process!!! I'm so afraid we won't be able to get anything we are wanting because by the time the website allows me to book and submit...everything may already be booked. AGH!!!
So, how much is a room at the Comfort Suites...if you don't mind me asking. Also, you say that it gives you access to all of Atlantis. Does that include the aquarium...or do you have to pay a seperate fee for that? Does it include the waterpark?
Thanks again! After planning all of this....I'm gonna need a vacation!!!

Hi HaleysMom
I know what you mean about the frustration booking excursions. Keep trying, I just now was able to book a banana boat ride  . Last night (I'm in California) I could have booked Palo at almost any time but since I don't like solo dining.
DD10 wants to do parasailing but I haven't had any luck doing that. At this point, if we just hang by the beach, I'm happy with it.
Still debating whether to just walk around in Nassau or do something else...
See you all on the ship (or sooner on these boards!)

Just getting on the boards here - hi everyone. I'll be celebrating my 46th b-day on the 7th along with DH and DD16 (just turned) - any other teens on this one? She made great buddies 2 years ago, so I'm not too worried.
We'll be at the Boardwalk prior to the cruise - our first time at that resort. But then again, we've loved them all so far!
We will be traveling with my almost 16 year stepson. He is very out going so I am not worried either.

Yay!!! I was finally able to book everything!!! Even Palo...I can't believe it! The only thing I couldn't get is both the dolphin encounter and atlantis beach day because the times for those overlap, so we had to choose one. Here is our line-up:
Nassau: Dolphin Encounter
Castaway Cay: Extreme Getaway Package and Banana Boat
Palo on last night at 8:00
So excited! DD8 can't wait either! Really hoping that she will make some friends so that she will be more likely to want to spend some time at Oceaneers Lab (at least during our Palo reservation).

We will be joining everyone on the Oct 7, Wonder cruise. We are Me, DH, and DS 11, DS 14, DS 16. We have been to Disney World twice and cruised on RCCI twice, but this is our first trip with Disney Cruise Line. We can't wait!!! Teen sons won't have any fear of being "left alone" with the other teens, but DS 11 will hope to find some new friends. Hope to hear from some fellow Disney cruisers.

Welcome Belle!
I think your DS11 will be able to find some friends, I have a DH10, so I'm sure they will meet.
I have a question for everyone. Are you guys taking your children out of school or are you lucky enough like us to have a 3 week break in October (year round school, out last chance because it's not an option on 6th grade, and the reason why DH and DS are not joining us (big lug is a JUNIOR this year!!!! :sad2: ), or are you homeschoolers? :cheer2:
Just curious, it is my personal belief that life and family times are precious and that a few days with the family are more important than school (as long as you are not way behind  )... I know not everyone thinks that, and that's ok too!
The good thing for us is that we don't have to bring homework! Yay!

Thanks for the welcome. We are from Huntsville, Alabama. We have a week long fall break in our county. We did take the kids out for a week to go to Disney World a few years ago. We did talk to the principal in advance and they made up their work. It was well worth it.

Hi Oliviasmom
My sons are 11, 14, and 16. They are also excited about going, but want to be sure there will be kids their ages too. My teen boys have been asking me lots of questions about what kind of stuff will their age group have to do. They want to be sure they aren't doing little kid stuff. The cruise brochure makes it sound cool for teens. Tell your step-son there are at least a few boys his age.

Hi all. I can't believe how close the cruise is getting. It really helps me not be so sad about the approaching end of the summer (I know we are only halfway there, but still).
Anyway, I wanted to get people's thoughts on pirate costumes. My husband and I actually already have pretty nice pirate and pirate "wench" costumes, which we assembled for Halloween last year. My DD9 had an "Elizabeth" costume, but has decided (correctly) that it isn't very pirate-y, and frankly it won't fit her this year anyway. DD8 needs something too. I may try to sew something, but if I could purchase something relatively nice looking it would certainly be easier.
What are you all planning on doing?

Hello, we probably get the prize for being from furthest north, we're from New Brunswick, Canada!
Like the OP, we're doing the Land-Sea cruise and staying at the Polynesian. We're so excited! First time cruisers and first time at Polynesian. Following up our cruise with three nights at the AsMu Family Suites.
Our group is my parents (mid-60s), DSis (39), myself (41) and DS10. Glad to see there are a few kids, particularly boys, his age going.
We're staying on Deck 8 midships, all 5 of us in a Category 4. Woohoo, a balcony!
We haven't made our reservations yet for Palo brunch, I'd better get on that! We opted to not do a Nassau excursion and to check out the pirate museum there instead (DS10 was born in Halifax and is way into pirates!), then spend the rest of the day onboard.
We (me and DS, at least) may do MNSSHP on Oct. 11 to help take some of the ouch out of leaving the ship that day. Gotta call for those tickets, too.
Our first trip to WDW in 2005 we were on the DDP and had ADRs and a heavy itinerary. This trip, no DDP, only a few ADR's (Luau, CM, Ohanas, Kona) before the cruise, no ADR's post-cruise. I figure we'll be eating guilt and salad for a few days :rotfl2:
I think a DCL cruise is going to be a great multi-generational trip! My mom, who hates to walk too much and loves to sit by the pool, is looking forward to it. My dad, who loves boats, the Caribbean and taking digital pics, will love it, sis hasn't done much reading or research so doesn't know what to expect, DS10 can't wait to hit the Lab. For me, much as I love planning, just sitting back and not being tour director for a few days will be fantastic!
Let me know if there's a meet or a kids meet in the works. For dining, I don't know if we'll end up with our own table or they'll put others with us. If there's a single parent and child, a one-child couple or child-free couple looking for a table, you're welcome to join us!

Is it too early to plan a kids' meet? If anyone remembers what time the lifeboat drill is (4:00?) we should make it before that, maybe at 3:00 by the Mickey Pool or the Goofy Pool?
I've been going over trip details with my DD8 and DD9 lately, and they are very excited. We're beginning to pick out clothes, etc. and bought some nice end of summer sale things to bring along... yes, they are girls! My DD9 (who will be almost 10) is also curious to see if there are any girls her age, but I assured her that there will be plenty, not just the people on this thread, but lots and lots more!
They are also wondering how secure the top bunk is. My younger daughter also wants a shot at it, but in the picture we saw on the web, it doesn't look like it has railings - but it must, right?

Hi everyone:
Haven't been on in a while since my notification doesn't seem to be working.
We decided not to go all out on pirate night this time, since the costumes take up so much room. We'll probably wear striped shirts or something.
I think the kids meet would be great. We'll be at the Mickey pool probably all afternoon, so 3pm sounds good. :grouphug: Can't wait!

It'll just be the two of us (since that's all there is, for now...). Will be my first cruise ever, and her first since she was pretty small.
I'd go crazy if I had much more time that we already do to anticipate the trip. Booked the cruise last week, found a good deal on airline tickets...still working on hotels and where to go the rest of the week hanging out in Florida. It's fun being my own TA but rather time consuming.
Definitely was skeptical of booking a Disney cruise at first...but the more reviews I read...now I'm pretty excited.

Hello all!
I just booked the cruise. I have another cruise booked for October 2008 on the Magic. However, after the first seven days of teaching fourth grade again this year, I've decided I can't make it another year without a DCL escape! We are anxious to get on the Wonder!
I was feeling guilty for spending the money again this year. Tonight, however, we had to go to the funeral home for a friend who lost her husband. After watching the slideshow of pictures that featured all the special moments they had shared with their boys, we came home and emailed Dreams Unlimited. Some memories are just too important to miss out on making.
I look forward to finding out about your kids. I will go back and read through the thread. I have a 9 year old son and an almost 5 year old daughter. If there are any boys around my son's age that would like to email before the cruise, I'm sure it would make the club's even more appealing to him.
See you soon (but not soon enough :cool1: )!

I tried to reply to your PM to me, but it just won't go through. I keep getting a weird error message. Just wanted to let you know that I am excited to continue to hear from more boys in my son's age group. My son is 11. He has been a little apprehensive about going to the lab. But, we have been looking at online video's, podcasts, and photos. I have also let him read about the other kids, like your son. He is excited to meet someone from Canada. We are from Alabama and I have a couple of Canadian friends who have migrated south. They all notice our southern drawl ( haaaay yaaa'll), but that is okay. Maybe we can pick up a few new words, eh ? See you soon. I would count the days, but their just moving by too quickly.

Hi all.
Yes, I think we decided the meet is 3 p.m. at the Mickey Pool. Whee!
My husband will definitely be "all out" with his pirate costume - and I am sure a lot of other people will be too. Even if it is only 10% of the guests, it is a huge amount of fun to dress up and see people in costume. Luckily DH and I dressed as pirates last year for Halloween, so we've got the outfits all set.
I just finished making Mickey head tye dye t-shirts, using the instructions on the DIS thread. Can't believe how excited I am about everything!

My family is dressing up as pirates. I have been keeping an eye out for anything that could be transformed into pirate clothing. I have my friends and my sister looking at yard sales and thrift shops for anything interesting. A friend found a great white ruffled swashbuckler shirt at the Army thrift store. It looks great on my DS11. Still looking for the belts, swords, and earrings for everyone. I'm leaning toward the wench look, but I may go pirate instead.

Anyone in this group planning on going to MNSSHP? We are going on 10/12, Friday night. We went last year and it was the highlight of our trip, so I definitely wanted to include it for this year. One unfortunate thing I read recently - I think Big Thunder Railroad is going to be closed during our visit in October. I'll get the kids dinner from the deck (pizza or burgers) or from the buffet restaurant before we go - or, if they feed them at the Lab, that's ok with me (I just don't know if they do or not). Definitely make a reservation any time you can, though - it's a great experience.

Hmmm. I did a brunch on a 4-day last December, so either they've changed the way it works, or it is full. You can still try to book the day you get on the ship -- immediately after boarding, there will be a place to go and try to get more reservations (usually one of the clubs), at 2:00 or so (check when you board). I believe they hold some spots open for bookings that day.

Welcome, Kim! Yes, the Halloween party at the Magic Kingdom (otherwise known as MNSSHP) is a great time. We went last year and loved it, and it is in part the reason we chose a 4 day cruise over a seven day (along with my fear that my carsick prone DD8 might not like the cruise so much).
Hope to meet you on the cruise - we are sailing with DD8 and DD9. We are going to try to get everyone together at 3:00 at the Mickey Pool on embarkation day - tie a lime green mickey head to your bag and meet us there!

Hey everyone!!! I haven't been around in a while, but I'm back "on board" now since we are getting SOOOO close!!! DD8 has begun her official countdown on her calendar. Only 31 days to go. Yippee!:cheer2:
Just catching up on a few things:
We will definitely be at the Mickey Pool with our lime green Mickey's at 3:00. DD is very anxious to meet some girls her age. Having her make some friends is our only hope of getting to go to Palo...otherwise she will not want to go to Oceaneer's Lab, I'm afraid!
As for Pirate Night (by the way...which night is that?) DD will probably dress up, but DH and I will probably just stick to bandana's to help with lighter packing.
I believe I am going to get tickets to the Oct. 5 MNSSHP. Haven't purchaed them yet...was really suprised to see how expensive they are...but probably will b/c I've heard so many great things about it.
Oh, I have great news! We are pregnant! :woohoo: Just found out a few weeks ago. I am 10 weeks along now...will be 14 weeks at time of cruise. We are so excited! But, I am a little worried about how this will affect our trip. Worried about the heat and all the walking while in DW, and the motion sickness on the ship. Just found out that I will have to cancel the Dolphin Encounter. Apparently, they won't let you participate if you are pregnant. DH and DD will still do it though. Hoping that there are still plenty of rides that I will be able to go on. No roller coasters or spinning in circles for me. :sad1: Any tips/suggestions for me regarding this?

We received our room assignment!! We were upgraded from a 12 to a 10. It's not a huge upgrade, but it gets us a split bath. We had a 9 last time, so I was worried about the smaller bathroom. I'm tickled featherlegged (pardon the southern saying)!
My kids still don't know we are going. It's fun having a secret, but I want to tell them so badly! I think we are going to tag on the 11th to visit the WDW. I haven't been since I was 10, so of course, my kids have never been. DS wants to see the princess castle in a bad way. DS says we need "to check out DW just in case it is better and we don't know it yet." They will be so excited!
We're almost there! I can almost see her now..........

Hi all,
I can not believe how close our trip is getting, it seemed like ages ago when we booked it!!! I have been reading the boards and saw some info about a meet by the pool. Could someone please fill me in on the plans?? Is it just for the children who have been e mailing back and forth?? What are the green paint chips for?? Anyone have any tips on how to get decent Palo reservations?? I went to reserve a dinner but there were no spots left, I did get a massage but i is at 8am in the morning UGH!!!! :rotfl:
I have a few questions for past cruisers, is it worth it to do the extras on Castaway Cay or is it better just to relax and enjoy the island? I tried to reserve some stuff but like everything else they were booked solid. I have also read about Atlantis, what is the deal with people booking a room at a nearby hotel?? Has anyone heard of bringing pillow cases on board to give to the front desk adn they will have all the all the characters sign it, not sure if it was true or not?? Does anyone know how strict the clubs are concerning the age limitations? DS 11, and 2 neices 8,9 will be in the older club while my DD who is 7 i sso upset about not being with her brother and cousins. She is just 3 months shy of her 8th birthday and I am hoping they wil let her in the older club. Any ideas on this matter??
Sorry for my rambling ans all the questions but as the trip gets closer I want to be sure I have everything covered. Thanks

Jukeboxx99,
I think I can answer a few of your questions (maybe). From our experience last year on the Magic, they were very understandable at the clubs. I don't think you will have any problem at all with a child that close to the next age group. They let my son (eight at the time) go with my three year old daughter to her club a time or two to make her feel more comfortable.
I think there are several kids emailing back and forth. My kids don't know yet, so I can't let them. From what I'm seeing there are going to be quite a few DIS children around the same ages. I'm really hoping that the meet and greet (at 3:00 if I'm not mistaken by the Mickey pool) will help my kids meet some playmates.
We enjoyed doing nothing on CC day. The kids loved the beach area. Now, I think they would love the bike ride too, but I will probably not pay the extra money for it when they love the beach.
I'm going to try and get Palo brunch reservations as soon as we get on board. I would like to do the dinner, but don't want to miss a night at the restaurants with my kids. We have late seating though. After I see the schedule for the week I might see about doing a dinner and then going to sit with my kids. I don't want to miss the shows either though, so it probably won't happen.
As for the paint chips, I think I remember that Home Depot or Lowe's has the chips in the shape of Mickey's head. I haven't done that though. I am planning on getting some magnetic paper to make a sign or two for the door though. The kids really liked being to identify our door easily.
We're almost there!!! I may cry and hug the ship when I see her! :lmao:

Help! I have tried to send a few private messages so that my kids could email others and this board is not allowing me to. Do I have to have a certain amount of posts under my belt before I'm allowed to send PMs? Also, how can you find out if rooms are ajoining? I think I'll ask that in a separate post.

Staciet,
Hi,
Can you believe the trip is only a few weeks away!!! My kids are getting so excited. I have a son will be 11 and a daughter who is 7. Thye have not e mailed any of the other kids on this thread but I would like them to start so they can get a head start on meeting other kids. How old r ur children?? Maybe we can exchange e mails??
I think I can answer ur ?? about adjoining rooms, if you look on the map of the ship you will see little arrows which mean connecting rooms. We are traveleing with a party of 9 so we requested the adjoining rooms. We are on Deck 8 with a catergory 4 room. Where are you guys?? If you do not have a map let me know the rooms and I can tell you if they are adjoining or not.
Hope that helps!!!

I debated about doing a fish extender but I don't believe I will. I have made up a couple of baskets for my DGD which I am shipping ahead of time - a sand pail with some $ store items in it and a few others disney toys. So, I think that will do it.

Actually I think the late seating times are now 8, 8:15 and 8:30. We got stuck with 8:30. It only says early or late on the website, but if you want to know your time then log into the Disney cruise website, pull up your reservation and email yourself the itinerary with the option at the bottom of the screen. It will give you the exact time in the email. BTW has anybody gotten their cruise documents in the mail yet?? :confused3

We are getting soooo excited! We got DD's pirate costume last night and I got an eye patch, sword, and pirate tattoos for us. We have booked a room at Atlantis (thanks to wwwosie for telling us about a super terrific special offer they had going on!), we have everything booked for our CC day (snorkling, stingrays, biking, floats, banana ride), and we have Palo booked for dinner one night...although I may be cancelling that b/c I don't think I booked it on a repeat night and I don't want to miss out on one of the restaurants with DD. I found a new bathing suite for DD for less than $6 and I got a magnetic whiteboard for our door for $2 from the Dollar Tree! I'm finally feeling a little more prepared for this trip!

Dressy night is what I'd call semi formal. I wore my Bridesmaid dress just b/c I wanted to. DH wore his Grumpy polo shirt and Docker type pants. I saw every thing from nice sundresses (disney prints usually), to tuxes and long formal gowns.
This is what our evening attire is:
All but dress up night various Disney print sundresses for me and matching top for DH with docker pants.
Dress up night: My pink BM's dress for me and Polo shirt with Dockers for DH.
Other than at meals/ shows I'll be in Shorts and Tshirts.

I realized today that I needed to buy sunscreen, and since I didn't do it while it was still summer (here in the Northeast, it is long gone) it is going to be hard to find the kind me and my kids like. I hate to wait until we get there - but it may happen...

I'm wondering how much time is really saved by filling out the forms online. If you are able to get to the terminal early (we will), then I think you unfortunately have a lot of time to kill anyway before they actually let you board. So if worse comes to worse, we'll just fill them out the old fashioned way when we get to the terminal...

I just found this site/thread. We are also sailing on the Wonder on the 7th - me, DH, and DS9 and DS 7. Anyone else with boys around those ages? Would be nice to have other kids their age to look for at the club. We'll try to meet everyone at the pool the first afternoon.
I have a question - it seems like some people know the dining info already. DH and I want to go to Palo and made a reservation for the first night. But someone said that Monday and Tuesday are the same restaurant, and I'm worried that we'll send up with Animators Palate the first night and I don't want to miss that. At this point it would probably be hard to change the reservation anyway, but who knows?
Hopefully getting to the end of the shopping list today as we leave on the 3rd and go to the World for a few days before the cruise. Staying at the French Quarter.

Welcome! Regarding your Palo question...I spoke to a rep on the phone the other day about this b/c I have the same concern. We booked Palo for the last night at our regular dinner time, but I don't want to miss any of the restaurants or dinner with our DD either...so I am afraid we may have to cancel Palo. Apparantly, the dining rotation is dependent upon your dining time. For example, 6:00 dining will have one rotation while 6:30 has a different rotation, 8:00 yet another rotation, etc. The rep said the we will not know our rotation until we actually board the ship (it's listed on your room key). He said that if we need to change or cancel a reservation, we can do so at that time at a designated desk. As long as you cancel Palo by 2:00 the day of the reservation, you are not charged for it. Hopefully this answers your question. I hope it works out for both of us! From what I've read on this board...Palo is one thing NOT to be missed!

Hi all!
I don't think there is really a dressy night on the Wonder, but if anyone knows differently, let me know. I think that when people go to Triton's they dress up a bit more, but generally capris and a clean shirt are fine! As someone else has said, put a bit of jewelry on and change out of your sneakers, and you'll be ok. That is, unless you want to dress up, which is fun too.
Also, if you find you don't like where your Palo reservation falls in your dining rotation, you can when you get on board ship request a change in your Palo res (or, I think, in your dining rotation).
Today I made a trip to Target and bought an over the door shoe holder (still not sure it's necessary), a 6-plug outlet, some new luggage, and other random things I needed. Unfortunately, still can't find the kids' favorite sunscreen, but later this week I'll try Walmart.

Yes, I was able to fill out all of our forms online with no problems. Try again! Maybe the website was just down. We received our Docs yesterday, but I haven't had a chance to look through them yet. I plan to do that today.
I keep going through a list of things in my head that I need to either buy, pack, or remember to do. Agh! I need to write everything down...I'm so afraid I am going to forget something!
A few questions:
Are you all bringing a pillow case with markers for the characters to sign? Where do we drop that off?
What is the "Secret Sundeck" on Deck 7? Are kids allowed there?
Are you planning on bringing bottled water? How necessary is this? I can't imagine lugging around a case of water with us, but if it's that hard to come by or that expensive I will.
Ladies---do you take a purse with you to DW? I'm planning on bringing a Bagallini bag for things like camera, money, etc. but I'm not sure if I should bring my purse as well.
Thanks!!!

Hi Monica...it's Emily's Mom
If you go to the following website they have a fantastic Packing list that is easy to print out. It seems to cover eveything!!
http://www.mousesavers.com/timeismoney.html#packing
Yes I plan on brining pillow cases for the kids, I believe we can drop them off at the conceirge desk on the ship and they weill have all the characters sign it and then return the last day of the cruise. If anyone knows if this is true or not pelase advise!! Thanks!!:wizard:
The only thing I know about the "Secret SunDeck" is that it is a little known outdoor nook complete with chairs on Deck 7 aft. (cruise line book)
We do not intend to bring bottled water, I am a total overpacker and will most likely have a month worth of stuff with us so I do not think I could convince my DH to bring some water along too!!:rotfl2:
I plan on brining a small backpack and that is it...I want to be hands free!!!I will probably have the kids bring a small one as well!!
See ya at the pool!!!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hello! Hello! So last night I emailed my travel agent and switched hotels from the Embassy Suites, where Taryn would get a robe for her bear to the Hyatt, $30.00 more but I don't have to worry about lugging suitcases!!! (I think at this point I'm driving my TA nuts).
Pillowcases - yeah, we are planning on bringing them if I don't forget to buy them. Make sure to put them in a ziploc bag.
Purses at the parks - If I could somehow manage to NOT carry a purse EVER I'd be a happy camper. I have a small backpack kind so I'll use that.
Water: Well... I do not like EVIAN water which is what is available on the ship, but lugging water just seems too much, so I think that for four days I can survive on ship water. And yeah, I also have to survive with diet coke, I'm a pepsi kinda girl but...
I am brining some packets of M&M's because $9.00 on the ship is a tad much. Also got some glow bracelets for the pirate party and MNSSHP...
Now, if my documents would just ARRIVE so I can put everything together. We are going to Universal Studios the day before we leave. Hopefully I don't forget the passes sitting right here on my desk....
Off to more domesticity... :laundy:

Thanks for the quick replies, ladies! BTW...Haley is having a blast e-mailing your girls! She can't wait to meet them!
Regarding the bottled water, I guess I thought people brought it not so much for while you are on the ship, but for when you leave the ship for excursions and such. I thought I read that water is ridiculously expensive off the ship. Will they not let you bring a few bottles with you as you leave the ship?
So, I looked through my documents, and now I'm wondering why everyone was so anxious to get them??? What am I missing? Pretty much, I just saw forms that I had already filled out online. Other than the contract that we have to sign, what is the big deal about the documents? Maybe they just make people feel like the trip is finally official and getting close??? Confused!

There are no documents like the ones I filled out online. I guess I don't really need them though. Regarding the water - I didn't bring any on board last time and never missed it. Although it is expensive to buy on board, they have bottles for $1.00 on the pier at Nassau. (They were brand name and safety sealed BTW.) I seem to remember the boat offering a deal if you buy in bulk, but I don't remember the price. We mostly drink diet Coke, sprite or coffee. For four days I think I can cope without the extra baggage. I do think we'll stop by the liquor store though and pick up some alcohol.:drinking1

Wow! So even the bottled water on board isn't free? You have to PAY for water??? My goodness, with all the thousands of dollars we are spending on this trip you'd think water would be included! :confused3 DH drinks alot of water...not sure what to do.

Hi all. One thing about the pillowcases -- you can hand them over in a bag with a bunch of sharpie markers in your kids' favorite colors, and the characters will use those markers.
I did one each for my kids last year (they weren't with me on the cruise) and one kid has used that pillowcase every night since then! But I wished I had given them a bunch of pretty markers, instead of the random green/brown/orange mix we wound up with.
I can't believe it's getting so close. We don't leave until Saturday 10/6 -- we are doing our few days at the park after the cruise, not before -- but it still seems very close! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing nuts happens at my work or DH's so that we can have a nice calm week heading into cruise time...

Ok one more general question...the green mickey heads, do we wear them or put them on our bags? Are they just for the pool meet on Sunday??

Hi Kim!
The staterooms do have blow dryers, but a lot of people complain that they are too weak. I haven't decided yet if I am bringing my own -- probably.
I think you give the pillowcases to the front desk, and if that's not right, they can tell you where the right place is! A friend did it for me last time, so I'm not sure.
As far as the lime green Mickey's, I am putting one on my little backpack that I use for a purse while on vacation, and on a tote bag too. I think that's what the DIS folks generally do, but I'm open to any other suggestions. I actually picked up a few more at Home Depot a few days ago and may make some door decorations with them (laminate them and stick little magnets on the back). I've made a few magnet door decorations so far... stop by and see us, room 5020.
Anyone know if the movie Game Plan will be playing on the ship? My kids totally want to see it - I wonder if there is a way to find out. Maybe better to be surprised!

Anyone know if the kids' clubs take the kids to movies (so the kids could go, and the parents can lounge by the pool?)
I wonder if it would be ok to leave the kids at a movie, and come meet them there before it was over? Obviously depends on their ages. I'm not big into leaving my kids by themselves, but am really looking forward to having some grown-up time in the cruise.

Cruise document question,
Got ours on Friday, but nowhere does it say what dinner seating we have. I know we are in the early one but not even that is noted on the ticket. Don't forget to fill out your Bahamas forms before you leave.
Hair dryer: if you bring one bring an extension cord, make sure you unplug everything when you leave your cabin.
See you all Sunday!

I know that you don't find out your rotation until you get your key to the world card at the port, but I had hoped to confirm we had early/main dining. (Don't ask me to wait until 8 to eat - I'd go crazy, let alone my kids!)
Now I am wishing I made a Palo res for the at sea day. I may head over to whatever room they designate right when we board to try to get a reservation - needless to say, they aren't available online now.
Can't wait until the weekend - we fly out on Saturday, stay overnight at the Hilton at the airport, and bus over to the port on Sunday. Whee!

My experience from a Disney cruise last year -- very small cabin, no split bathroom, but shared only with one adult -- is that there is not much space. I think if you can put your luggage under the beds to store, that helps.
Despite this, we are not packing light - we will just bring what we want to have with us, and stuff it in there somewhere. Our cabin is just a place to sleep and put our stuff - we have the rest of the ship to enjoy!
I did buy one of those over the door shoe hangers. Hopefully it will be helpful, and not just take up more space in our luggage!
Don't forget to keep your bathing suits with you the day you board, so you can swim even if your luggage hasn't made it to your cabin yet.
See you soon!

Hey- not long now. We fly out on Friday!!!!! Are there towels available on CC, or can you take towels from the ship, or should you pack your own beach towels? Also, if you bring along your own mask/snorkel for a 4 year old, will they let him snorkel? He's not allowed to participate in the snorkling excursion.pirate:

I answered the question about the exact dining time earlier in the thread - here you go!
:confused3

WOW!!! :woohoo: I can't believe we are so close! We fly out on Thursday...staying at the Poly for 3 nights...and then Here We Come Wonder!!!! DD is so excited...she has been counting down the days for months now!
I feel like I have a ton of stuff to do in the next 3 days...
Still have to make our door sign, get it laminated, and buy magnetic strips.
Haven't even started packing yet...so afraid I'm gonna forget something.
Need to make sure we have enough sunblock...
Still have to go get lime green Mickey's from Home Depot, a white pillow case and Sharpies for character signatures, and get some cheapie ponchos.
Need to get our mail stopped for the week...
Sorry! This is list is mostly for me, I guess!
A couple of questions:
I know that we are supposed to keep a day bag with us the day we board with bathing suites, medications, sunblock, and such since we won't have access to our luggage for a while. What else should be in that day bag? What about beach towels...will they have those for us upon boarding or will there be a wait for them as well? It would be nice to be able to swim in the pool while waiting.
Would it be okay if each of us just brings one dressier outfit? I know that Nassau night is "dress-up" night, but how dressy do people get when they go to the restaurants on the other nights? I've heard that you aren't supposed to wear shorts to the restaurants for dinner. Are capris okay for me? What about nicer Khaki shorts with a collared shirt for DH? Do they care if the kids wear shorts? I'd really like to pack mostly casual clothes for this trip, but don't want to feel underdressed for dinner and the shows in the evening.

I'm not sure on towels but I'm thinking I saw some around pool area.
One dressy outfit is fine but i'd maybe do 2 just so If you can wear each outfit 2 days. Capris are fine and on dressy night I saw everything from Formal dresses/tuxes to just a polo ashirt and docker style pants. I'd think lil ones in nice shorts would be ok but I have none and was in mostly adult dining rotation last cruise.

Some folks for the fun of it make a sign for their door. There's a thread with ideas on the main board. The sign has to be magnetic because you are not allowed tape of anything on the doors. It's not something you HAVE to do, it's just for fun.
I have the magnetic paper staring at me but haven't come up with a sign yet. YOu can get it at staples.

Sorry if I'm asking too many dumb questions, but I'm new to this.
1. Do I have to have magnetic paper or can I just have a laminated sheet with magnets on the back?
2. Are the only people who put signs up the people who post here?
3. Are there a lot of people who post here who are meeting?
I thought it was a good idea to have a different sign for each day. Mine will probably have the day of the week on it but with the same pic.
I know I'll have more questions, but I want to post this so it can get answered before everyone leaves!

I have laminated mine and put magnets on the back.
There is a meet on Sunday at 3:00PM at the Mickey pool.
Has anyone checked out the weather in Nassau yet? It is calling for rain on Monday, so we need to start saying our prayers now.

No dumb questions...that's what this board is for! I've asked many of your same questions before! No worries!
1. You do not have to have magnetic paper. You can just stick magnets on the back of your paper (laminiated or not). We went the easy route and just made a sign on Word, glued it to some construction paper, laminated it, and then put magnetic strips on the back. I got the strips from HomeDepot...they have sticky backing on one side to stick to the paper, magnet on the other to stick to the door.
2. Yes, I beleive the whole door sign thing is a Dis Board thing.
3. I beleive most of the people on this thread (going on the Wonder Oct.
7-11) will be meeting at the Mickey pool at 3:00. This is mostly so that our kids can make some friends...I'm hoping that it will make my DD8 more open to the idea of going to the Oceaneer's Lab so that DH and I can at least have dinner at Palo...and maybe go to the quiet pool once!
One more thing...the Dis Board people are able to recognize eachother in DW and on the ships by the lime green Mickey heads. These are just paint chips that you get from Home Depot. The color on the chip is actually called "Alien Green". People attach them to their bags and such so that they can recognize eachother. Does that make sense? I got several and laminated them. We will put some on our door, and I will also put them on our beachbags. Hope this helps!

Just got DD10 to pick out images for our door sign. Now I really should get off this board and get to it. :lmao:
No question is too silly. I bought magnetic paper only cause I've never tried it and I like playing with new things.
I actually think the door thing is cute, and with my sense of direction, it will help me find my room.
Nassau weather: there's another thread on the main board regarding the weather next week. I think we'll be o.k. I didn't book anything for Nassau but now I have to get off and get my mom some rum cakes. I think it will be fun to walk around and see what there's too see (I understand it's not much and there's a lot of hawking of merchandise, but I'm used to that having grown up where I did).
Monica: remember my tips about bribery... :lmao: :lmao:
Two more reports for work :surfweb: and it's DOOR SIGN TIME!

Wow, I can't believe how close this is!
Taryn, Haley, Emily -- Sophie and Rachel can't wait to meet you. And I can't wait to meet everyone, too!
Anyone else on this trip doing Palo Monday night? I started reading a thread about the food there - yum!
Circling back to an earlier post - we are planning on wearing our pirate stuff during dinner, too. I want to make sure not to miss the party - last year, when I went on the cruise without kids, we had late dinner seating and missed the fireworks. Hopefully the show won't interfere.
I don't even want to think about bad weather. Hopefully it will be warm, and even if it rains, just a little here and there -- right?
Have a great trip, those of you who are leaving tomorrow - we will see you on Sunday! ::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo

Yes! Bribery! Hahaha! I almost forgot! I think between meeting your daughter and the other girls and a little bribery, she should be okay with the Oceaneers Lab!:lmao:

Quick Question: I know that we need to have a day bag for the day we board the ship since our stateroom may not be ready for a while, but do we need a day bag for tomorrow (the day we arrive at the resort)? I don't know if the room will be ready when we arrive or not...or if we will have access to our luggage or not. For some reason, I'm thinking that our luggage is taken care of from the airport to the resort, but I'm not sure. Isn't that what the luggage tags are for? Don't know if we will be able to get our stuff soon after arriving at the resort so we can start our day, or if we will have to wait hours for it. I did not plan on packing such a bag for tomorrow...so I hope this is not the case! Anyone know for sure?

I'm glad you found this site. I see you have a 15yo son. My sons are 11, 14, and 16. The pool meet is an informal meet for people who have "met" here. I hope there are plenty of things to keep the teens busy. From reading other reports, I think they will be busy. Hope to meet you there. And don't worry, I haven't made a sign yet either.pirate: But we all plan to dress-up for Pirate night, including the boys.

That is such a good/cute/neat/cool idea! I'm going there tomorrow!!! My girls always LOVE to get those paint chips to play with anyway!
The color on the chip is actually called "Alien Green".
Speaking of green, I'm going to print out our door sign on a bright-ish green paper. I don't have a color ink cartridge thing anyway, so this way, it'll be "colored" but not "in color". I have to make them tonight so that dh can laminate them at his work tomorrow! He's a guidance counselor at a school.
This may be my last time to post here because I'll be soooo busy tomorrow packing and stuff. (SO much stuff) So, thanks to all here! I'll be back with helpful tips for future sailers/cruisers/what do you call them. Maybe I'll see some green paint chips Sunday!!!

Hi all 10/7/07 cruisers - sorry I didn't get to meet most of you on board. I was at the pool at 3:00 but it was so crowded I didn't see anyone with green mickey ears on their carry-ons. I did get to meet glass slipper.
Wasn't the weather great? We were so lucky. We had a great time and hope everyone else did also. We booked a 7 night for Nov. of 2008. Will start counting the days!!!!

Hi everyone! I looked and looked, but couldn't find anyone either. I even doubted myself about the time and looked again at 3:30. Oh well, maybe next time, right?
We had a great time too. However, my husband and son got seasick the first night and missed dinner. They didn't get sick the first time last year. I just don't understand it.
While the Wonder was great, I have to say my heart is still on the Magic and the seven day cruise. The ship just didn't seem quite as pristine. I also felt like I never was able to just let go and relax. Everything seemed rushed. I didn't want to get off that boat Thursday morning for sure! We spent the day at WDW, so at least that softened the blow.
I can't wait until next October! I have had that cruise booked for a year now. I just have to pray that they don't mess with the school calendar, and I have to start really saving those nickels and dimes! :thumbsup2
Hope to see you guys on another cruise someday! :woohoo:

Hi everyone,
The same thing happened to me. I wondered if I was the only one that didn't meet the group. It was really crowded around the Mickey pool and I only met one family with 2 daughters--sorry I don't remember the name. I had already been to my stateroom and left my bag, so I didn't have anything with me that had my green Mickey ears to identify me as a diser. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the great weather and being together as a family. The shows were SO GOOD! MY DGS5 sat on the edge of his seat watching every one of them. Castaway Cay was beautiful. We snorkeled and rode bikes along with meeting characters and just laying around in the sun. We were able to find the Mickey statue under the water while snorkling. Every day there was just so much to do. We all loved it!
We also had a great time at MNSSHP. I think my favorite part was the parade! All the villians in the parade had such an "aire" about them. Such a great family vacation!

We lost track of time and didn't get to the pool until 3:30. We didn't see anyone there either.:sad2: Haley did get to meet Taryn b/c she was in a room just down from ours...so that was good! We also had a "WONDERful" time! I never imagined I would love cruising so much. Next time, I think I'd like to do a 7 day and skip the land part. Disney World was great, but very hot, crowded, and hectic. The cruise was more relaxing! Also, I will definitely let Haley bring a friend along next time. She wasn't too keen on going to the Oceaneer's Lab since she didn't know anyone so DH and I ended up cancelling our Palo reservations and we didn't get any alone time at the quiet pool or anything. Live and learn! Glad everyone had a good time!

Hi everyone. My Dh and I also looked around pool but saw no one. I had my LG Mickey on my lanyard and Tiara in my hair. First part of land trip was HOTTTTTTTTTT but after cruise it was nice and comfortable. I suspect that we had disers down hall from our state room but I never actually had chance to ask.

Hi all. We were at the meet at 3:00 and met Sue, as well as Rosie and Taryn. Sue, I wanted to let you know we found your door, by all the great signs - the kids really enjoyed them!
Rachel (DD9) and Taryn had a lot of fun together. It was definitely a great idea to have the girls e-mail before the cruise. Now I'm hoping Rosie will send me some pictures...
We enjoyed the cruise immensely. I want to do another, and would really like a Mexico stop (Cozumel? other east cost stops). I haven't started to figure out when it would be, though. It will be harder for us to take off during school next year, since DD9 will be in middle school and I hear it is really discouraged.
Keep in touch.

Thanks Sandy - I had fun making them and received many compliments on them - our steward loved them. Several people asked me what Dis.com was. I was disappointed that there were very few door signs however.

Hi Everyone!!!
We were at the pool right around 3pm but did not see anyone wearing the lime green Mickey's. I guess we all just missed each other. We had an absolute blast on the cruise. Best family vacation ever!!!!! :dance3: The clubs, the food, the entertainment, the service it was all stellar!!! My kids were actually crying when we were leaving the ship on Thursday morning. They have not stopped talking about the vacation since we got home. They keep asking when can we go on the Disney Cruise again. We will definitely plan another Disney cruise in the future. Maybe a 7 day...that would be wonderful. I would love to cruise on the new ships coming out in 2011...my kids can not wait that long.
Hope everyone had a teriffic time!!!

Terri - I'm still here, and enjoyed reading your blog. We were supposed to go to Palo on Monday night, but wound up skipping it because we couldn't figure out how to satisfy my girls' desire to dress up and have a nice dinner and not miss a show, etc. Anyway, it turned out fine.
Please let us know when you post more - I am curious about your emergency medical trip - doesn't sound good...
