The states that are selling the 01/05/02 pins

I'm just speechless how some stores can't even confirm they have new pins to sell on 01/05/02, but so far guests from WI, MI and VA have so far posted they are buying them now.
Another THUMBS DOWN to Disney. Not that I am begrudging ANYONE that they shouldn't/can't buy the pins. After the YoD series, I am just fed up with the store's inconsistencies.
Sorry for the venting. I think I just never recovered from YoD burnout.

I live in New Orleans ... the CM at one of the Disney Stores here confirmed they will be selling the pins on 1/5/02 .... but they were not out in the store today.

But I totally agree with you about inconsistencies - it seems some of the stores play by the rules they make up ... and not the rules the corporation called the Disney Store has.

I don't think it's the stores making up their own rules. I think it's Disney not making their directives clear enough to follow. The Disney store I go to did not decide to do things to their own rules, they interpretted the memo as being able to sell the pins when received.

Ane this makes sense, I think:
"... the original directive that came out regarding putting the pins on stage was sent when it looked as though the pins may not arrive until Jan 15. There was a later communication sent for NONE of the stores to put the pins out until the first Saturday in January!!!"

That would make sense if Disney thought the pins weren't going to reach the stores until mid to late January, to tell the stores to put them out when they rec'd them. But from this post it looks like they retracted that original message.
