;) Hi Everyone! :)
We just returned from our mother/daughter weekend trip! :cool1: It was wonderful and we had a great time but it's kind sad to be back home. :sad2:
Ok, here's the scoop.....:upsidedow
Before you slam me, please know that WDW is my second favorite place in the whole world. I am a native Floridian and am honored to say that I was there it's first year in 1971. I've been back over 15 times through the years. I love Disney. :cloud9:
Now - I read this board and Intercot regularly. All I can say is - people, trust the posters here. They know what they are talking about.
I stayed at the ASMu. I was very excited and was impressed by the value resort. However - ;) - we were told we would be in a Calypso building. There were 'no rooms available' in those buildings upon check in so they put us in Broadway 8 and promised me a king sized bed. I get to the room and there are two doubles plus the bathroom hasn't been cleaned. :headache:  It was 10:00 p.m. and we had driven for four hours. I call them immediately and get the 'So sorry, nothing we can do' about the king-sized bed. After requesting housekeeping, it took THREE CALLS and two hours to get the bathroom clean. Which doesn't sound like a big deal, but when you have tired kids and the bathroom isn't clean until midnight, that's ridiculous.
BOTTOM LINE: When I read on the boards that service wasn't as good at the values, I pooh-poohed it. But service does count and you get what you pay for. Spend the extra bucks to go to a Moderate. :thumbsup2
Cheerleaders! :cheer2: When I read on the boards about cheerleaders, I scoffed because I like young people.
Oh.My.God.
These groups were cheering LOUDLY from 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. at night and then partying in front of our room. For the most part (sorry, Cheerleader Moms), I discovered these girls to be very rude in the parks and at the resort.
BOTTOMLINE - DON'T GO WHEN THERE ARE CHEERLEADER EVENTS. :headache:
Crowds were insane at every park. Second only to summertime. I wouldn't ever go again in March.
There was one more thing I scoffed at in posts that I read......the condition of the parks. One person even went so far as to boycott WDW and said that they were going to use only the Cruise Line. I couldn't believe that they would boycott WDW and immediately disregarded it. Well, I gotta tell you people.... This time, I noticed it. :sad2:
Huge chunks of carpet are up in Philharmagic and other indoor attractions. There were paint jobs needed and even the roads to MK were potholed. Overall, the parks *DID* look shabby. I didn't go in there looking for it but I was reminded of recent posts about the condition of the parks. It's noticeable. :sad1:
Anyway - DISNEY was still full of magic. :wizard: I still love it and I will go back but I will pay more heed to those who post here.
Thanks for reading my review!
