Our Photos are still on the card, infact yesterday I went to take pictures of the kids dying Easter Eggs...and no Photo Card:scared1: ....Kaylee had it in the computer, checking out all the pictures;)

Still have one suitcase out!!!!! I got ALL the others put away rather quickly... so don't know what the deal is with that last one lol :confused3 maybe I am just getting used to looking at it :laughing: :laughing:

I am off to a family baby shower this morning, along with about a zillion other things to do today, in preparation of getting ready for tomorrow. And then we have Emily's confirmation next Sunday...

I am all for a reunion cruise. Believe it or not..... SHHHHHHH....... I have actually looked into another cruiseline and I am planning a Girl's Only Cruise for October 2008, 4 day Thurs- Sunday Western. Key West, Grand Caymon, Cozumel. Any takers, I will add you to my e-mail list.... I figured the guys can get the kids off to school for two days. It is fairly cheap or should I say compared to what we have spent, VERY CHEAP. Hi everybody and Happy Easter~!

Thanks for all the good wishes. Everyone is on the mend. My mom is very stressed about my dad, who is doing great. My vacation bank is on empty--it's been a loooooooooooong two weeks!

Tomorrow, I'm finally back to school. With testing the last two weeks, it's been deadly for subs. Can't wait~!

Tink, I too have been looking at different cruise lines. Unfortunately, I won't know for a while what my work schedule will be like next year. Keeping my fingers crossed that DD's school has an elem opening. If not, I've been asked to do a maternity leave, but the teacher hasn't decided how many weeks she's taking. All those variables will impact my cruising...

I've never chatted, but am up for anything! Glad to see that people are still posting here.

Finally got the photos onto my computer--plus my dad's. I take a lot of portrait shots, so now I need to go through and rotate them, size them, etc. One of these years I'll have something ready to post!

OK, I'm back, she is just to excited, She just told me I could share with you that we have a reservation pending for the St. Croix cruise (2/28/08), We have until 3/21 to drop our reservation $ down on it, but it is on reservation. She has been itching at this since we got back.
Another sign that the season is changing, we got a letter from the pool company to schedule an opening of the pool.

Hi Kathy-
Our group is very small that post here on a regular bases and none of us were the ones at Guest Services with complaints. So none of us would have been the ones who were handed cards. We had one of our "Family" there, but she was not complaining, only watching, keeping the kids away and oh, I forget, she was the video tapper.:rotfl: :rotfl: So we would not be the ones to ask. Did you give them your name and are awaiting a respond? I did write a nice letter to them, but I had some other major issues on the ship that needed to be addressed and I have yet to hear from them.:sad2:

Hi everybody-

Can you believe it's Wednesday already?! Hope everyone is having a good week. I taught on Monday, which was great. Nothing else on the calendar until after Spring Break.

DH is traveling and DD's best friend in the whole world (who happens to live in OH) is visiting her grandparents this week. I'm letting DD play hooky tomorrow and she's sleeping over tonight. So, for the first time in 10+ years...I am home by myself tonight. I'm watching Top Chef and eating chocolate...hoping I fall asleep. At least my cat is keeping me company.

I called DVC earlier looking for a studio for a couple of days next week. It's DD's spring break, DH will be traveling, I've got a few points left in my June use year and we haven't been in a while. They only have 1BRs available. We don't need that much room and I don't want to use that many points, plus I would have to buy new passes--making my couple day run to WDW very expensive! So, maybe it's not meant to be. I'll probably call again tomorrow though... Anyone planning to be at WDW next week?

We are overrun with Spring Breakers this week in FL. Easy to spot them. While those of us who live here were wearing jeans and jackets at WalMart this morning, there were tons of families in shorts and flip-flops. Hope everyone's doing great! Anyone on Spring Break and doing something fun this week?

I've looked at all the photos. Fun reminiscing! You guys took pictures of everything--great photos! I can't believe that people thought to take food and signs. What a great idea. (Kim and Jen, thanks for setting up the sites to view them on.) My photos are mostly DD and my Dsis's boys.

Tink, your friend looks soooooooo familiar to me. Did he ever live in NY? I almost walked up to him and started quizzing him. Even Pat said to me, "Don't we know that guy?" No, I didn't get a card. I was talking to a man by the pool who told me what was going on down in the lobby and I have just been curious about what kind of resonse people were getting from DCL. His whole theory was that DCL would "offer up" some sort of further compensation to people who complained a little more. Kind of "the squeeky wheel gets the grease" scenario.

I had read about Rani videotaping over on the other thread. I only read a small part of the thread -- it just got too long to keep up with -- but I felt really bad for you Rani seeing people jump on you for videotaping it.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the cruise. We had a fantastic time. I can't wait to go back, but no future trip booked at this time. I was just talking to the kids about it last night and they really want to go back. My son was negotiating with his sister about next year's magic show. My daughter got picked (but they both caught the dice at the same time) during Mike Super's show and my son is still talking about it! He wants a deal that next time he will get to go up instead of her!

Do not count on the Lanyards, DCL changes their minds about this every so often. They give them then they pull them then they give them again. Maybe they will cut cost down by not giving them again and use that money for the engine....:lmao: We got them on this past cruise, but they had stopped giving them on our cruise prior to that. So you never know, just bring your own, :confused3 we always do.:thumbsup2

Hello my fellow cruisers! Norm, Josh and I are doing well. We've almost lost all of our tans. I may need to stop by the tanning beds - I'm in serious withdrawal. It got up to 49 degrees today - whoo hoo. Still chilly for me.

We received a nice letter from DCL. Funny - it thanked me for the nice things I had to say about the ship, and people like Mischa, Natalie, Sheika, Pubmaster Paul, etc. It was a nice letter until I realized it was a modified copy of the same letter they sent to all people complaining/inquiring about our cruise.

Norm, Josh and I are going to St. John instead - with our very good friends. We're only interested in sun, fun and relaxation. Since we spent so much time on the ship to sit in the sun all those days for that amount of money we figured we may as well stay on the island.

Have fun at the park everyone. I probably won't stop by but I'll be there in spirit!

GET OUT! We were on page 3!? I'm sure I didn't join till at least page 8....begging for a mentor because I was so clueless!

We are all still on our cruise high - especially me and DS11. DS9 is back to chess and soccer and DD4 wants to go back on the ship, but not on the rides. She told Chuck E. Cheese yesterday that she wished she were with Mickey Mouse (relatives?) instead.

I still have a couple things in my hideous backpack that I haven't put away. I did get nice shadowbox displays for each of the kids' pins and we have actively been finishing the collections they started.

I've got my second "Rani" pin on it's way to me. I haven't blown up any framable pics yet, but I;m just waiting for some higher resolution pics before I order my two photobooks....50 pages each!

I would love to hear more updates from all of you. Speaking of pins...which is my new obsession (I've kind of ditched Target, shhhhh!) --- Figment, if you're reading this, I now know who "figment' is and man, does he have a ton of pins! you should check it out!

DS11 pointed out to me that we are 701 days away from Mar. 1, 2010 - which is the month when we plan to take the next Disney Cruise.

We've got Spring Break this week. I decided against heading to WDW. Pat is traveling all week, so DD and I will just do fun stuff. We went pottery painting today, have a beach day, the movies and swimming at Grandma and PopPop's planned.

I have a neighbor who does photo books from online instead of scrapbooking. Is that what you're talking about at snapfish and shutterfly, Rani?

I've got a new obsession of the day--ringtones. I have never had anything but one that sounds like a phone ringing. I always get the free phone, so there's not much in the way of features. Well, today we were with friends and she's got songs for everyone. So, I came home, went on the DIS, searched for free Disney ringtones and found a great site. Now, when DH calls, it's "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life for Me." DD is "Fabulous," from HSM2. My general tone is Spectromagic! I'll probably get more tomorrow. They're sent as a text message, but we never use ours. It was easy--and exciting. I need to get a life!

You know, I'm learning that one of the best things about the cruise is that Ryan is still coming up with new memories. Almost everyday he tells me something new that they did in the Oceanears Club. It's been really neat to hear these random memories I didn't even know about.

On the other hand, Ryan keeps asking when we can go on another. He says that since the sign on our way out said "See you real soon" that means we get to take another cruise. Love four-year-old logic.

Tink-do you have a photo of Ryan and your DD with Wendy? If you do, please send it to me. The Shutter people took some but I never saw it.

How sad am I that I have not taken the pictures off the DIC or even looked at them. I know I have one Heidi, so I will do that tonight. It will actually make me get them all downloaded and I will send it to you as soon as I do it via e-mail. If it is really good, I will send you a hard copy as well. You, know, we really should do some CD exchanges. We have so many pictures of each other that we should burn some of them to CD and that way, I may actually be able to do a scrapbook.

You, know my kids do the same thing. They keep bringing up things that happened. I keep asking, for goodness sake, where was I.... Did I sleep too much on this cruise? I did not even have many BUSHWACKERS or Bon Voages.... I have a picture of that See you Real Soon sign BTW Heidi. I am officially a nutcase. You know what I bought today? I bought fabric and interfacing for the fish extender for the cruise 2010! Not that I'll be making it any time soon, but it gives me a project now that I don't have my book of lists to put together - I can recycle that.

It's very cool -- funky blue and red water tye-dyed base fabric and a panel of fabric for each of the following - princesses, pirates and mickey. Not that I even know when I'm going....or if any DISSERS are going or even if we're going to do fish extenders......but if we do, I'll be ready!

Hey Cruise Family-
Have you guys checked out your credit card statements. There is a $45 credit to your statement. We have not gotton our statement yet, but everyone in our party has gotton a credit. So me being me, I of course called DCL. It is the port charges that are being reversed for CC. Even though it is their own island, we still pay port charges to the Bahamas. So it was not the PIXIE Dust fairy, it is just our port charges being reversed. Just to let you know. THis also takes us off of page three. Also gives all of those people who like to lerk on this thread something to talk about.... :thumbsup2

So, anyone dowload any ringtones? I'm all Disney, all the time. Added "Be our Guest," for Dsis, "Tapestry of Nations," for Dad, "Zipadeedoodah," for Mom.

DD had her first trip to the ortho today. Sniff, she has the mouth of a 12-13 yo. Only four baby teeth left; one will probably be out today, it's so loose. Two 12-year molars have erupted. She got seperators today, will get new ones next week and what they now call retainers next week. (They are four bands with a retainer top on top and two bands with an inside wire on the bottom.) Six months or so after that, full braces. This is setting us back at least one DCL cruise!

Merriwind - we are still awaiting nine baby teeth to fall out and be replaced by 11 new ones.....unreal how much the ortho costs -- and i've got three who will need it. I NEVER HAD BRACES OR GLASSES ---- this stuff is not from me!!!!! DS 11 got rid of his expanders six months ago---now we just hurry up and wait.

I'm still here! Freezing my behind off in Florida. It was in the 50s until afternoon today and I think we topped out around 63--windy and cloudy to boot. It was warmer in NY! Pat went off to play golf in pants, turtleneck and jacket today. He would have cancelled, but was playing with someone from MI, so didn't want to look too wimpy. (Wonder if the friend wore shorts?!) Tonight will be in the low 40s! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

We are planning to cruise again sometime in late Feb/early March of 2010. The random date that I put in my countdown clock puts me at 676 days until we sail again. I guess that's better than having no date!

Hey There...How exciting to see our old thread brought up from VERY bottom of the Dis Boards Vault LOL!!!!!

So did you girls get your cruise booked???? We have no plans to sail in 2010 as of yet...although I would LOVE :lovestruc to go to Europe, but know, that between Ron's summer work schedule and the girls in school, it would be too hard to make the dates work.

We do however plan to go this Feb.
Tinker and Johnna (and families) as well will be on the same cruise, so that makes the cruise all the more exciting!!!!!:banana: :banana: :banana:

I am still waiting to hear from DU. I'm a little worried about the prices that I pulled up on the Disney Cruise site. They seemed VERY high. I'll keep you posted.

OMGoodness- I come to check in to the DIS and what do I see on page 1 :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: Hey ladies. I just posted to Rani on our Facebook page, that I was looking too. The prices do see a little over the top. It would be awesome to all book one together again. :thumbsup2 I will be honest though, we will not book until back on the ship, to save the 10%. We have two booked now and DH is having a fit.... The airline $$ is driving him insane.... He is counting on me to work some Pixie Dust.:confused3 . We are booked for the same cruise as last year for 2009 and for the DD Nov. 2009. DH says if we look at 2010, then the Nov. 2009 has to be cancelled. So decisions decisions. The only thing is, to cancel the Nov. 2009 one may be good as DS will be in 6th grade and that is the week before Thanksgiving Break, so not the best time to pull him out of school. Little Tinker DD will only be 2nd grade, so not as big of a deal.

Ours this coming February/March is approaching fast and I do not have airline tickets yet. We just can not imagine 2 1/2 gran or more in airline fares. SO I will have to keep looking for 2010. Do be sure to come back here and let us know what you are each doing. Miss you Jen.....:hug:

It's so nice to hear from all of you again!!!! I miss you all!

We are booked!!!! Feb 27th, 2010 (Eastern) and we were able to get SPH rooms 5522 and 5020. The price is about $550 higher than the dummy December date that we had booked for a cat 9 room, so it seems that their prices have gone up a bit, but not as much as I had feared.

Don't worry Tink with fuel prices coming down I'm sure the airline prices will soon follow. And I'm jealous of your two booked cruises. If you switch to 10 you should join me on the 27th.

Rani - Did you book today, or are you still in discussion mode?

Brenda - I will miss sailing with you this Feb, but I will wave at you while we are at Disney and you are out at sea!

It was a nice reminder of our March cruise to get an e-mail letting us know that the thread was active again. I'm surprised these threads are not closed by the Boards after some amount of time of inactivity (especially the ones specific to past cruise dates).

It is said that time heals all wounds, and so it is that half a year later our family looks back on the cruise as having been a great time, and the missed day at Castaway Cay was simply a minor inconvenience (as opposed to the major disappointment that it seemed at the time). We look forward to another cruise some day, though DD and DS have concluded that WDW is a higher priority, and DW says neither will happen until she gets a new kitchen.

I hope the next set of cruises go well for those going again, and best wishes to all.

OOPS I meant SPR - I think. Secret Port Hole Room. It is a cat 9 room for a cat 10 price. It is located on deck 5 (close to the clubs). Basically because of a slightly blocked view you get a window without paying for one.

Good to hear from you Mike! I hope all is well with your family, and it's nice to hear that some of the disappointments have faded. We have chosen to do another Eastern, but so far it looks as if I am alone.

Perhaps you can cruise on one of the new ships in 11 or 12? I'm trying to figure out how to talk my husband into one or both of those as well. I guess I will need to be on good behavior for a while :angel: :scared:

OMGoodness..... I was just talking about you today to Stephanie. She asked me about you and I told her, I was soooo sad that we had so many bumps in our cruise and it was your first. I told her, I think not only did the engine get burned this past cruise, but your family did too and I do not think there was ANYWAY or EMAIL that I could get you to come back.... DH also told me with the prices of the next year ones, we may have to contact you to have you map us out a WDW trip......


Everyone- I really do want to stay in touch with everyone. This was the closest group ever IMO. I actually got to know you guys as friends and you know a little more about us than even some locals. Someone at work the other day, said that I was soooo nice, she did not think I had a bad side to me. I told her that I have been known to be a "Stinky Tinky" :rotfl2: . I have joined our current thread and still besides Johnna Story and BJ, I have yet to really connect with anyone there. This thread was more like family than just cruisemates. Thanks for making that cruise especially with the bumps sooo MAGICAL and my b-day soooo special....:grouphug:

Jen, do not give up the fact of no one going with you in '10..... Just because we did not BOOK on OPENING day, does not mean we are not intrested. This group holds a special place in my heart as well. I left a little note on the thread for those of you going in 09.

Mom and Dad Feiste are going on their first ever, stay on property 7 day WDW trip with us this Feb. Until now, they have each only done two individual days at the MK, and those were about 12-15 years apart.

Why do you think I have to start packing and rolling so early - I still have my list from last time! But yes - we're all totally excited - wish at least some of you would be with us. We got a very good deal on this cruise - nearly what we expected when we rebooked....seems that when we actually called Disney to reserve - the prices came down!

My kids still talk about the cruise every day - we have a count down on the pantry door and we've started our lanyards for pin trading - we should all have at least 15 to trade!

Everyone will have new pirate costumes and we'll be even more prepared than we were before. So what dates are everyone going this next time around? It's hard to keep track for some reason!
