My wife and I managed to see all there shows a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time we had seen all there shows in one day. I was forced to drink a few beers while watching them. It was tough but I managed. ;)

One must make sacrifices at times! ;)

Hello all! We generally make our annual trip to the World in the summer but this year will be going the dreaded Christmas week. Does Off Kilter perform that week ... particularly New Year's Eve? (I know schedules are subject to change, just wonder about past years). I would be so disappointed to miss them this trip! As great as it is to listen to the CD's at home, it's just not the same! :lovestruc

Lately they have been performing Wednesday-Sunday. Christmas Eve/Day and New Year's Eve/Day are on Friday/Saturday in 2009 - so I would expect them to play those days.

I wonder what made Disney decide to shell out MORE money for summer entertainment when they're cutting cast members everywhere else? Whatever the reason, that's one entertainment decision I like!

I asked Tammy (carlyle688) if the guys are working more days, now that the group is scheduled 7 days a week, or if they have subs. She said that Jamie is off W & TH, and the other guys are off F & Sa. It's nice that 4 of them can have a weekend day off again.

They have a new keyboard sub for Tony -- I don't know his name but he is from Mulch, Sweat and Shears. All the other subs are their regular guys: David Horvath, Billy Varnes, Mark McDowell, Jeff Schiller, Jason Thomas, Mike Ferguson, Mark Lewis, etc., etc., etc.

I saw several shows this past week.

Monday, Jamie was missing and we had Jason. I only saw one show but it was good.

Missed Tuesday and saw one show on Thursday due to rain (:( ) Randy was gone Wed and Billy played for him. Very good shows. Did the "Life is a Highway" song which the audience seems to get into. Thursday I saw two shows with the original five! :) Since the odds are "slim" now that you get all five it was a treat!

Didn't see any of you regulars around......

A shame you missed the weekend shows with 4 subs! ;)

I cancelled my late June trip due to the heat and because I booked a new trip for December! As much as I'd love to hear Off Kilter 7 days a week, I hope they'll be back to a 5-day schedule in the fall. I'd rather hear all 5 play on the same day than have a sub very other day. I also need those 2 Off Kilter-less days so I can go to a different park in the afternoon/evening! :lmao:

I've been there just about every single day since the summer concerts started so all my days are blending together. I think this past Monday and yesterday (Thurs) were the only two days I missed. But I have been spending just the first show or two at OK, then over to the AGT for the tribute bands.

Sat. June 13th. The only regular was Jaime. And when did they become 6 and not 5? They did sound good but it's not the same without the originals. When are all the original band members all there together?

There are still only 5, but occasionally they'll have a 6th person. I don't know if that's intentional or a scheduling goof!

The other day for the first show, they only had four: Mark, Billy Varnes, Scotty and Tony. They only played three songs and then ended the set. By the second show, Randy and Mike Ferguson showed up. They sounded really good. I love it when Mike is there --- he's so entertaining (in addition to being a great fiddle/guitar player).

Just goes to show - even with 4 excellent musicians, you need a bagpipe or a fiddle player.

The set was quite short the one day there was NO lead guitar player. He didn't arrive until the second set! Just goes to show - even with 4 excellent musicians, you REALLY need a lead guitar player! :teeth:

This thread is too long to search for an answer to my question. When we saw them in April, there was a lady there who was really into them, quite dramatic, to say the least. I think more people watched her than the guys. Is she always there? She knew every song and I wondered if she was either a spouse/partner or a groupie. Have any of you seen her?

I go once or twice a month, usually on Sundays (not so much lately as I'm working 2 jobs, so Sunday is my only day off and I like to sleep in...but I'm trying...otherwise I might have Disney withdrawals.)
I did make it there this past Sunday--I somehow missed Jamie every time I was there this summer so it was good to see him play again. Met some nice Scottish folk there who recommended some other good Celtic rock bands; hello if you're out there, and thank you!!!!

Anyone who's there on an early Sunday afternoon--drop me a line! Would like to meet some other fans if I'm over there.

I don't know...we'll leave that up to C to decide since it was used to describe her. :)

I don't think dramatic was a bad word to use, just makes it seems like it's an act or something when it's so clear that she loves the music and is expressing herself accordingly.

we were there the 5th and jamie didnt play. we only made it to epcot one day during our trip so we missed out. but the good news one of thier subs is from ontario! they finally have a canuck playing!!!

Jason on fiddle is fabulous! If I didn't know the band usually has someone playing bagpipes, I wouldn't miss it if Jason was playing.

thank you! i couldnt remember his name! lol brain fart i guess. lol or it was the heat that day. yes the last soneg- i think was whisky in the jar...maybe not, and it was mostly fiddle was great. my 4 yr old enjoyed rockin it out tho. oh and they had a pint sized fan as well, who i presume is there quite often as they referred to him by name on stage. name once again is elusive.

Happy Birthday to Barb (newholidayx2)! She called me yesterday - her first day on the job at Epcot. She was on her dinner break just before 5:30, and was in the backstage area near the path to the Off Kilter stage. She got to greet the guys as they walked to the stage, then heard part of their set. How cool is that! :woohoo:

When I arrived on Tuesday, Oct. 20th, Jason subbed for Jamie on Tuesday and Wednesday that week. However, Jason said he usually subs for Jamie on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Since they're playing 7 days a week, and chances are good someone will have a sub - be happy if there are at least 3 original members! :)

I've finally reached the point where I don't even care anymore --- most of the subs are so good that it doesn't bother me like it used to. But I understand that people who only see them once a year would prefer the five originals. I'm just happy that no matter which day I go out there, I will get Off Kilter in some form.

Best way to ask, I've found, is to approach at the end of a set.
That way, they can work it into the next set.

If it's the original five guys, they can be pretty flexible about requests. If there are subs, the song choices are somewhat limited. Alive is a good one to request, normally. Over the years, they have taken some songs out of their regular rotation.

Got back from our trip 3 weeks ago. We spent 2 days in Epcot but sadly, with my 70 year old parents and the first day we did the left side of the park. I could hear Off Kilter from afar and so wanted to ditch my family and go listen to them. So on the 2nd day there, I practically ran from the American pavilion to Canada to make it to one of their performances once we finished up at our spot. It was well worth the dodging of people!

My husband and I saw them first in Oct 1997 and loved them. They are still great to this day. I can't wait to go back and see them again.

I've been at WDW every holiday season since 1997, and it's my favorite time to visit. However, the Flower and Garden Festival in April (for my birthday) is another must-do, and I LOVE the Food & Wine Festival. If not for my fondness of Off Kilter, it would be easier to wait until December.

Hi All ~ We returned last Friday from WDW. While chatting with Jamie after a show he said "We'll be up in your neck of the woods." Of course I asked where and when :confused3. They are the headline group for Indy Irish Fest (September 17 - 19). Of course I was thrilled that they would be an hour from my house, but then the dates clicked....I'll be at WDW September 16 - 25 for my birthday trip with my friend :scared1:. Jamie assured me that they will only miss playing on Sunday the 19th and will still play on the 16th when I arrive, whew :worship:. So, my DH will be going to Indy Irish Fest. Jamie asked me to tell DH that they want to "party" with him because they heard that he is lots of fun :woohoo:. Hmmm, I may get an "interesting" report when they return from Indy . I sure hope this means that they will start going Indy Irish Fest again. I LOVED 3 days of lots of Off Kilter at the fraction of a WDW trip :thumbsup2.

They've introduced a couple of new songs in the past few months -- of course I can't recall the names of them. Sadly, that means a few more of the old tunes aren't being done anymore. :(

There is a new fiddle sub, Jordan Woods Robinson, who is very good.

Apparently the folks at WDW Entertainment are unaware that a whole slew of Celtic people emigrated from northern Europe to Canada and settled in Nova Scotia ("New Scotland") and other Atlantic provinces!
