I am seriously considering booking this sailing...is it the itinerary with the day at sea or the Freeport stop?? Just curious, I am now trying to figure out how to arrange for everyone to have the same time off of work!

Hi,
Freeport is a stop on the January 27th sailing. Come join us :). Don't forget, if you sail in January you get a voucher for a $99 3 day cruise for use in the fall of 2002.

I actually was hoping that it would be a day at sea. It won't change if I cruise or not. I just returned from my first 3 day and I really feel that I missed a lot of the ship. I only spent about 2 hrs in Nassau but I would love a day at sea to explore and appreciate the ship itself. Anyway, I want to go again and the $99 thing plus my birthday being the 28th are my big motivators. I would like to take my mother and 2 sisters as well as my daughter. So, as you can tell, arranging that many schedules can be tricky! Wish me luck!!!!!

We are considering this cruise. What kind of weather are all of you packing for? I am thinking 60's and low 70's.

Hey this is great---some responses!! I am packing everything from tshirts and shorts to sweaters and jackets. I'm not sure what I'm going to need. After the cruise, we will be spending 3 days in WDW.

Also, I've been tracking the prices for this cruise and they have gone up so if anyone is thinking of booking do it now. Also, don't forget about the $99 voucher for the 3 day cruise.

Do you have any additional info on that $99 rate? What might taxes and port charges change that price to? Also, is that for the category you are paying for now or the cheapest they have?

For the special $99 Fall 2002 cruise DCL quoted me a total price of $212.85 with all taxes and port charges per person . If you book an inside cabin for your January cruise you will get an inside for your 3 day cruise, book a window now get a window later, etc. However, you will not necessarily get the same category you are sailing in January. For instance, I'm confirmed for a category 11 for January, DCL said I can get a category 10, 11 or 12 on the 3 day. I hope I didn't confuse you.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear in my previous post. I have amended the post and hope it doesn't cause any confusion. The price I was referring to was the total cost of the $99 voucher which you get when you cruise in January.

My family and I will also be on the January 27th cruise!

So glad to get some responses to my original post. Maryisme, I thought we were the only ones....somehow I had these bizarre visions of the ship all to ourselves!;)

Anyway I am glad to see others will be joining Mermaid and I. You will most likely find us at the adult pool (we are leaving the husbands and kids at home) sipping margaritas....with our green ribbons of course!

briane, I am preparing for the same temperatures as you, but saying prayers for low to mid 80's...a girl can dream can't she! We will be leaving the State of Maine, so anything over 40 will seem like a heat wave!

So what have we decided for the meeting? I have never cruised before but I was thinking about one hour before the life boat drill in the lobby. But what I need to know is if there is even a lobby or not?

Good morning fellow 1/27 cruisers.....are we getting excited or what??!!! Maybe we should schedule our meeting in front of the mickey statue in the atrium. What does everyone else think?

Mermaid and I are going to be coming in from Maine. My biggest fear is that we run into bad weather and are delayed. Can I get a message to mother nature that we'd like clear skies on the 27th?? Perhaps a few prayers wouldn't hurt either!!

8 days to go.....I'm starting the packing process today! Got out all my summer clothes last night. Seems very strange to be trying on shorts and tank tops with a foot of snow on the ground and the thermometer reading 15 degrees!

Hi LanaJayne,

It is pretty comical around here....me cranking the heat up so I can try on my summer stuff! Temp here today....20 degrees!

I am wishing that Mermaid and I had planned better and flown to Orlando the day before! Oh well, we are scheduled to arrive around 11:30 am so hopefully that will give us plenty of time if we hit bad weather.....praying for sun the whole way!

I just read on the boards that the Statue in the main lobby on Deck 3 is a Statue of Ariel on the Wonder and a Statue of Mickey on the Magic.
