Has anyone ever heard of a wedding/VR at the Haunted Mansion, Golden Horseshoe Jamboree, or any other "unusual" sites in the parks? DH & I are thinking of somewhere different/fun for our VR- not that every location isn't fun! While we love the Great Movie Ride, we want to keep our options open and maybe try something really out there!
This may sound a little crazy, but what can I say, we love Disney!

I believe someone on here was talking about getting married at Haunted Mansion. Maybe do a search?

Janet2k is probably the most knowledgeable resource on planning a VR in the parks. I believe she had hers at Epcot (the Great Movie Ride) but I think she also has planned other events at other locations. She can probably give you the best advice about who to contact, etc. You might try sending her a PM.:)

Hey, DisneyFairy19, nice picture. By the way, it's mine: click here (http://new.photos.yahoo.com/janettwokay/album/576460762326629411/photo/294928804216132323/145).
Sorry, couldn't resist a little teasing in return. ;)
I know Disney has used that photo when marketing for the Fairy Tale Weddings organization. I gave them my permission in hopes that it would allow others to see what a wonderful venue the Great Movie Ride is for a party.
I happened to use the Land of Oz venue for the dessert portion of my dinner party. It was fun, festive, and memorable. And when Glinda the Good Witch was added into the mix, it was a real hoot: click here (http://new.photos.yahoo.com/janettwokay/album/576460762326629411/photo/294928803349247015/159).

Hiwaygal, thank you. I know that I am not on the Dis much lately, so it's nice to know that folks like you are here to help the others out. I very (very, very) much appreciate that, as I am sure they do, too.

StephSFL, there are a few unique venues, but it is truly up to the Fairy Tale Weddings folks to tell you what they are. I know of some fun venues from the past (the Haunted Mansion, the riverboat, the courtyard of the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, etc.). However, I do not know if those venues are available today.
Please contact the Fairy Tale Wedding folks for the definitive answer. And don't forget to let us know what you find out.

StephSFL, by the way, don't count out Disneyland in California. Two years ago I was in contact with an organization within the company regarding unique venues for private events in Disneyland. They gave me two or three that blew my socks off. Of course, I was sworn to secrecy (*grumble* *grumble*), but to this day I have those venues stored safely in the back of my mind for my 25th wedding anniversary. My husband is still pushing for a vow renewal in Hawaii, but I think a vow renewal in California (Disneyland) would be way more fun. And way more memorable. ;)

I think another member of this forum had a part of her wedding in (or on?) "The Tower of Terror" in MGM. Can't remember the exact details! I wish I had looked more in to actual "ride" wedding locations before choosing my location. I wasn't aware they were an option until I found this forum, which was months after I signed my contract!
