We are planning yet again another trip to Disney. I have never used Disney to plan or make my travel arrangements. I have always used a local travel agent. Just wondering where or who do you think has the better deals. If you can't post here e-mail me at Pawtward1@cox.net. Thanks

I always use AAA. I belong to AAA and can get the package discount through them, plus they have other "perks" with their packages (free parking, story time, miniture golf).

The first time I got all my tickets and room through AAA. The last time I just booked through WDW since I didn't have all the money to book it up front. I just booked through them and I could pay a little at a time.

I actually always book my travel to WDW through the WDW company. They provide me with the information I need, allow me to make payments towards my trip using the online website & have a lot of knowledge about Disney properties and the company. I have booked 2 trips in the past & am booking my October trip with them and so far I have been very pleased.

We're good ole 'do-it-yourselfers' here! But if I ever decide to use a TA, it will be Dreams Unlimited - I've heard nothing but great things about them! :teeth:

I booked our trip directly through Disney. They were more than helpful and friendly and I will always use them when booking future trips. :thumbsup2

We have DVC, so I book that thru Disney. I book the plane tickets thru either Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, or the company web site, depending on who has the best deal. I get the rental car from one of the above companies, also. Park tickets thru Undercovertourist.com or Ticketmania.com

Twice, before we had internet, I booked thru AAA and ended up with "perks" I never used, like tickets to Wide World of Sports and Discovery Island.

I have booked directly on-line through WDW and Small World Vacations. I liked both. I liked the packages because I do think you save money because you get free transportation from airport to room (we never saw any reason to leave Disney once we were there) and it includes the price of your tickets. The only advantage to SWV is that they apply any special codes while you are waiting for "the day" to arrive. I do like the fact that with both you pay an initial $200 per person when making the reservations and then you can make payments over time but it must be paid in full 6 weeks prior to the date of the start of your vacation.

Have fun - you're going to Disney!

We always book through Disney. We also fly Southwest since they generally are the cheapest. My MIL purchased plane tix and then Southwest had a cheaper rate a week or so after purchasing and she was able to get some money back (well, credit - she's probably going to use that to fly my BiL in for the wedding).

We have done the do it yourself thing, but for the last two trips we used WDW. They are so helpful, and you can make your ADRs then too. If you have a Disney Rewards Visa then you can pay the trip in 6 mths no interest...that was what we did for our upcoming trip in 20 days!!!! We booked and paid the card off with tax return!!:figment:

We used Small World Vacations too. They were great...you already got your tax return? Uh oh, my BIL is doing ours and he's taking his sweet old time!

I like booking through WDW's website. I like that you can make payments online anytime you want as long as they are at least $20. Dreams Unlimited is also great and the agents are very helpful (I used them for a past trip that I had to cancel) however with DU you must make 100 payments each time. With our budget often it is easier for us to pay smaller payments, more often. ;)

Magical Journeys! They are fab! They will make all your ADRs and if a discount code comes up they will credit you back the difference...

example: We are booked for May 14-24. A few days ago when the May discount came, my TA was able to get our same ressie with the code so she rebooked us, thus crediting us back $300 and all while I was sleeping, I woke up to an email letting me know!!

My AAA quote was much less than my Disney quote, however, the Disney agent was INCREDIBLE! Are there any advantages to booking through Disney vs AAA that I may want to consider when looking at the price difference?

HEy I just noticed your ticker has the same countdown as me!!

We book Direct through Disney and we are staying at POR this time. We're staying until 8-25. Maybe we will see you there!

Same here!
We almost always book with AAA because we usually save at least $100 and that might not sound like a lot, but it helps buy some souvenirs and other things.
However, one time we booked through WDW themselves and that worked out great. They were very friendly, but I don't know if its worth not saving $100.
So any extra perks that exist when booking direct through Disney that are worth the price difference?

We did it ourselves the first time, but this time we're using AAA. The discount is very nice!

Either direct through Disney (weekend trips) or Small World Vacations (Marion) for longer trips. I love that she'll apply AP/Resident codes to my ressie straight away for me. No holding for ages to do it myself!

I booked this time through AAA to get the discount, already had the flights, and wanted the extra's from the package because we were planning playing mini-golf anyway. However, I've also booked through Expedia because when I did flight, hotel, and tickets it's come to a very good price (sometimes you can catch a really great break).

I used Small World Vacations for our first trip to WDW in June. For our Disneyland trips, I booked through Disney and through AAA. Small World applied our AAA discount for us on our upcoming trip in June.

We book through AAA. We have AAA so we check around to see if we can get a package cheaper or not but most of the time its through AAA and we get little things along with our package. One time we got a free drink in the AAA lounge in MK but I don't know what it is this year.

I use Small World Vacations. It's great to have a TA. She found out about the free park hopper and water fun passes for during our stay before I did and was able to get everything changed over for me. I feel like I've always got someone looking out for me.

We always book through AAA. They save us about $200 on a trip for a week.
They've been great year after year. :yay:
